I really like it when some of these modern blues players does that thing when they play a little pentatonic here and there and then finishes off with some jazz fusion kind of stuff like what Robben Ford, Larry Carlton, and Matt Schofield does. I hope you can cover that technique that they do as well because I've always wanted to branch out of my pentatonics and add more outside/tension playing
Dude- you're a beast! I can't believe how good your playing has gotten over the years- how much progress you've made and how good you are at picking out the style characteristics of so many different artists. Huge inspiration for us!- Ha! I made this comment in 2022 and just realized this is now 4 (!?!?!) years old! You were already good apparently!

Thank you so much man!
yup, i'm everything you said in all your videos Ross, but Now, because of you Ross, i,m getting better and Better at Playing Blues, not only that, i,m getting into jazzy blues also, thank you so much Ross, i'v been playing 45 years, and you Ross are the only guy that's been able to help me get out whats in my head on the Blues, again Thank You So Much
Loving the custom shop strat pickups back in your guitar man, and a great job of breaking down the Matt Schofield vibe here. Cheers!
Cool! Thank you, man!
Of all the Guitar instruction KZread channels I follow (and there are many) I believe your talent level to cockiness ratio is the best. In other words, you come across as very humble and your skill as a guitarist is top shelf. Many of the channels I watch faithfully are talented yet their cocky personality diminishes the over all enjoyment of their lessons. I learn a lot from a few of them though. You make me feel very comfortable when I'm watching your videos and your lessons are one of, if not the best available here in the excessive saturation of guitar channels. I hope you do them for many years to come.
Thanks so much Ross... Dont stop it, now im not blind anymore...🙏
So good. Will learn these. He is always one of the names I mention for anyone interested in contemporary blues.
Brilliant.

Great lesson ! Enjoying that first lick 👍👌
Ross, so glad you did a Matt Schofield! I just requested that not long ago. Thank you. He’s probably the best player now or at least the best in the last 20 years
GREAT! just what I was looking for
Hi Ross, lots of regards to you on your talent and the level of your explanation is so powerful, that I too was digging into Matt Schofield's powerful phrasing yet you made it available on his vibes. Thanks again and God bless you
Thanks so much for this. I just spent a week in the company of the esteemed Mr Schofield and your lesson pulls a lot of his ideas together. Well done for top explanation, very well structured and delivered.

Man you nailed his phrasing. Great work pal.
Nicely done Ross, great lesson
Great lesson! I've been studying Matt's playing for about two years and I picked up some subtleties here. I think you do a tremendous job of catering to multiple skill levels! I loved your Eric Johnson lesson as well.

Greetings from Denmark... Ross you nailed it Mr superguitar, fine extract:)))
Feeling the cold a bit, 'eh pal? (the beanie). Ha ha ha. It was fkn 29 degrees by 9 am here. :-) Nice Schofield intro.
Awesome stuff mate...I like that Strat so much more with those pickups! btw...cause I am following you for quite some time now, I bought both Bulletproof Guitar Player workshops. Great value for the money and packed with lots of great stuff...keeps me busy. Cheers

Bloody Jocks, posting your brilliantly worked out and expertly executed lessons, clearly and succinctly delivered so even I an follow. Brexit will sort you out!
Hi Mr Campbell, Thank you for your time & effort in creating these tutorials! I will most definitely be adding these tasty licks too my arsenal
🤘🎸👍
Ross, thanks for your great lessons. Can you do one on Josh Smith or an old jazz player named Howard Roberts?
Hey Ross, you changed back the strat pickups?

I noticed that too, those pickups sound good though :)
Great lesson Ross!....Can you explain Schofield's "suspended" concept?...He seems quite secretive about it...
Im digging this kind of blues sound. Apart from Matt Schofield, who else should i dive into?

Kirk Fletcher and Josh Smith
Hi Ross, thanks for the great lesson. Can you please let me know how do you deal with the single coil pickup hum on high gain settings?
That outside lick at 0:16 - mmm! Can you explain what you are doing there?
Awesome where can I grab that backing track ?
Earned my subscription Ross. Thank you so much for this. Exactly what I've been looking for. Appreciate the help!
I'm nit picking a bit but I saw your swing 8ths to be felt as a dotted 1/8th to 1/16th and not as a triplet? Is this intentional to the feel?
Hey Ross, is that your usual strat. I remember you had one red strat with Dimarzio Cruisers in the middle and neck positions and a super distortion in the bridge position. The pickups you have in this video sound nicer, vintage. What kind of pickups do you have now?
@RossCampbellGuitarist

Same Strat. Put the original Fender Custom Shop pickups back in it!
ROSS, Matt Schofield says he uses the major 6th and mixolydian mode using the major 6th degree. Can you make a video lesson about this on how Matt Schofield pentatonic licks
@gizzhead7941
3 жыл бұрын
Literally both licks he shows are mixolydian with the major 6th. First thing would be for you would be to locate the 6th on the fretboard and learn what it sounds like

@@gizzhead7941 Mixolydian always has the Major 6th, so what is Matt Schofield doing with the Major 6th because mixloydian always have a major 6th.

Geez you look different every time I see you... from a boy to a man lol. Nice job on this one mate... Ross I decided to make a video diary of my assignments from Berklee here on KZread... lol I’ll add some of these licks into my playing...
Question to anyone who knows about the Mooer Preamp Live: since it has its own fx loop, can it be played through an amp without an fx loop? I've been using the boss katana 50/25/.5w amp, and it doesn't have one. I don't necessarily need a bigger amp, but I hate the limitation of no fx loop and wonder if this would be a good compromise. Hope this makes sense.
@RossCampbellGuitarist
5 жыл бұрын
I don't see why not. If you're using it through the front end of your Katana then using pedals through the Preamp Live FX Loop would surely solve that problem.

By the preview i thought it's another rob scallon video
The blues player de jour right now...You changed your pickups back...
Yay! The Strat sounds like a Strat again. Glad to see the back of those (IMO) awful railed pickups
