That rhythm section is right in the killer pocket. Even in 7/8 time - amazing! And I agree, what a tone in that Strat!

That drummer... Not many has that feel that he has, fits Matt like the glove on the hand.

This mutha can play. I've not seen a guy that runs out of ideas like this guy. The phrases just flow out of him, it's azazing. A huge catalog of ideas, endless, I don't tire of it.

Thank you for capturing this performance in such quality. I should also mention that Matt is doing a great job having those amazing young musicians on the stage. Their enthusiasm and smiles remind me the reason why we keep doing what we doing. Great set!

Two hours of jaw-dropping and chills on my spine. Saw him this year on Blues Peer - Belgium and I was hooked immediately. There are only a few guitarists on the planet I can listen to endlessly without getting bored. Matt is one of them. And no; not Stevie Ray, not Clapton, not Gary Moore - just to name a few. Saw them all live, and got bored after the second or third song because most of them use the same tricks over and over. Fell in love with his guitar sound too - damn ...

That has to be the best sounding guitar (player) on the planet.

Saw Matt at 'The Wardrobe', Leeds, England, some years ago and he was terrific. Fantastic player and great voice too ... I have bought his albums and worth every penny .... Was a choice between Matt and KWS .... went to Matt's show instead .... delighted I did ...... sorry KWS followers ....

Matt play on a Fender Strat ?...fantastic sound like on SVL Guitars; much more interesting than many other guitar hero who do too much... Four excellent musicians

ANd it's really hard to get your own personal tone on a strat, because of all the musical references ( hendrix, srv, clapton etc..) and he did.

what song is the second song of the set? That sounds like some straight up New Orleans shit. I'm, from New Orleans and they did excellent job on that irregardless ♥️ Lil dudes are hot blooded! Love this

That is the best guitar tone I have ever heard. Unfortunately I think you need to be able to play like Matt to get that sweet tone...

Yep, a lot of tone is related to touch. Dynamics, attack, sustain are all products of fingers working on strings magnified through a decent amp. There are other things involved but they are add ons to the fundamental of touch.

I respectfully desagree. He may not have songs as catchy as the ones Bonamassa has, but he's defintely not a SRV wannabe. He has his own thing, way more sophisticated than SRV. I think at him as something between Texas and California, between SRV and Ford.

It’s not Bonamassa or SRV thing. Matt has its own style and I think he and Josh Smith are 2.0 blues.

Darren C Bonamassa catchy songs are often covers.. and his playing is nothing but Clapton « Cream area » licks.. with some shred. Only not as good as Clapton.. Sorry, much prefer Schofield.
