The richest warmest voice I ever heard. When Frank Sinatra heard he was in hospital dying, he called to say good bye. At the end of the conversation he said "I wish I could sing like you.'' Some compliment coming from a guy that sung as well as Sinatra.

In some ways he was better than Sinatra. From one boy singer to another was what Frank wrote to him. Great respect for supreme talent.

A nice interview with Matt Monroe. We don’t hear his voice in the biography of him. I wonder why the interviewer suddenly asked him how England is doing economically! Matt speaks of the working men’s clubs, but of course they fell out of favour with the public, younger folks wanted discos and night clubs, not working men’s clubs. Then he asks Matt about The Falkland Islands! Luckily Matt is well informed, but not about countries claims to land - many countries have off mainland territories. Glad he mentioned Vera Lynn, she had a beautiful voice and a no. 1 album at age 100!

VERY cool to see...unfortunately, we lost Matt Monro not terribly long after this interview. Mr. Hunt, would you please correct his name in the title? No e at the end. Thx, and thanks for posting!

Did not know about the e at the end. Don't think I can correct it but thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Great to see more of Matt on film. He looked and sounded a little sombre, maybe a little too much drink - how the man lived constantly under the influence of a bottle of liquor a day without much evidence is sad but true.

He died of liver cancer, that's what the alcohol did. By the time of this interview he had stopped. But, he was a chain smoker...which can't have helped 😕 RIP☘
