    @Cindy Tartt I have been trying for over a decade, and there are multiple forms of abuse and victimization that must be legally dealt with. However, the most important is what happened to my infant daughter in 2007, and then all of the sadistic, psychopathic crimes that have occured after to me. There were problems before 1979-2004, then 2004-2021. I have to use the internet to expose the abuse (financial, psychological, physical) and the crime. I hope to God this has not happened to anyone else !! Thank you for your support !!

    @@bingonamo7520 see below...she had a career before she met Tom Cruise. So, I do not think she needed the money, if that is what you are making reference to. She was on Dawson's Creek and performed in other television shows, in addition to, movies. Holmes made her film debut with a supporting role in Ang Lee's The Ice Storm (1997).[10] A mixture of parts in big-budget and small-scale film projects came next, including Go, Teaching Mrs. Tingle (both 1999), Wonder Boys, The Gift (both 2000), Abandon, Phone Booth (both 2002), The Singing Detective, Pieces of April (both 2003), First Daughter (2004), Batman Begins, Thank You for Smoking (both 2005), Mad Money (2008), Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (2010), Jack and Jill (2011), Miss Meadows (2014), Woman in Gold, Touched with Fire (both 2015), Logan Lucky (2017), Dear Dictator (2018), Coda (2019), Brahms: The Boy II, and The Secret: Dare to Dream (both 2020). Outside of film, Holmes made her Broadway theatre debut in a 2008 production of Arthur Miller's All My Sons. In 2011, she portrayed Jacqueline Kennedy in the television miniseries The Kennedys, a role she reprised in The Kennedys: After Camelot (2017). She also played the part of Paige Finney on the third season of Showtime's Ray Donovan in 2015. Holmes made her directorial debut with the 2016 film All We Had, in which she also starred, following in 2022, by her second movie Alone Together. Holmes's marriage to actor Tom Cruise,[11] which lasted from 2006 to 2012, led to a great deal of media attention. She has one child, a daughter, with Cruise.

    Alexander, psychiatrists were centrally involved in the holocaust, so you are just wrong. Also for people who feel hopeless in the face of depression, think how even more hopeless you could feel if you experience the negative side effects of these drugs. It is well known that homicidal and suicidal ideation often result as a consequence of these drugs. That's why there are black box warnings on them. It is glib to presume that everything is black and white and that you don't need to examine deeply what it is you are doing and to presume that pharmaceutical companies making billions aren't occasionally likely to misrepresent the full story to you as consumers.

  • @catharinesloper8504

    @catharinesloper8504

    7 жыл бұрын

    Tom Cruise's answer was not full and complete, but he gave his honest response to what he felt about the field of psychiatry which is notorious for so called cures like lobotomy and its involvement in the holocaust. Why do people feel that is excusable. Overuse of medication because the pharmaceutical companies spend billions of dollars on false advertising is not acceptable. These medications are very powerful, not just minor meds like you take for a cold, and they have powerful effects. Those who take them are likely to die 25 - 30 years younger than the average population. Look at Carrie Fisher, For instance. So Tom Cruise says folks are glib about these issues--he was right. Too bad people didn't want to hear it, but what he said was correct. When your child commits suicide because of antidepressants you will change your mind. When your child experiences kidney failure because of overuse of bipolar meds, then you will change your mind. Things are not black and white and despite the vilification of Tom Cruise people should have been warned by his remarks.

  • @catharinesloper8504

    @catharinesloper8504

    7 жыл бұрын

    Yes, the complications of these medications include heart attacks, obesity, high blood pressure and other medical issues that cut people's lives short. What people announce because they are unaware, and what is actually true are two different things. I believe this was the point Tom Cruise was making. I think it is convenient for people with a political agenda to twist what it was Cruise was trying to say. Just because Carrie stated that ECT cured her doesn't mean that it was true. Folks in Africa will tell you that drinking witchcraft potions made out of the body parts of Albinos cured them of AIDS, but that doesn't make it true. Tom was not disrespectful. Matt Lauer asked for his opinion and he gave it. Respectfully, if you say that massive amounts of heroin work for you, I'm going to disagree because I am well aware that we have an epidemic of people dying from the drug. Just because people want to put harmful substances in their bodies, this doesn't mean they have the right to do so. Society does step in at a certain point.

    I'd say the same about Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, Bruce Willis, Jude Law, Colin Farrell, James Van Der Bek, Britney Spears[was attractive enough in her youth but aged terribly] and Ben Affleck[named sexiest man alive]-none ugly but the way people/media praise them for their beauty is ott and how they make lists of the 'most beautiful people in the world' is just bizarre and not appropriate as I'd class most of them as very average looking. In fairness, Holmes was attractive in her day but she hasn't aged well, she's looking tired and gaunt with brittle looking hair which is likely from years of Hollywood dieting/eating disorder which ironically often makes actresses look worse. If you look at her in her DC days and during her marriage to Cruise she was very pretty but having said that she never was on the league of a Victoria Secret Model. The truth is that a lot of Hollywood people and famous people in general are actually only very average yet we are told they are beautiful because they are in the list of beautiful people of Times Magazine etc. Kate Winslet, Sigourney Weaver, Jodie Foster, Daniel Day Lewis and Meryl Streep are another few I see praised in beauty lists when in reality they are just very average looking normal people and always have been. It then becomes unfashionable to say that they aren't and we are conditioned to thinking they must be. Call it the 'Emperor's new clothes effect'. If Kate Winslet worked at your local grocery store you wouldn't look twice at her as somebody who should be in the People Magazine beauty list. BTW I'm no looker myself[far from it] so not all full of myself or anything but I do think the word 'beautiful/gorgeous/sexy' is thrown about far too much in the celebrity world. Like just because 1 is a brilliant actor[which Winslet is] shouldn't mean they are deemed physically 'beautiful' in the same way you wouldn't call your child's teacher 'beautiful' because they were excellent at their craft or a nurse 'beautiful' because he/she was good at their job. Like Call a Spade a Spade- if somebody looks like the rest of us then it's absurd to put them in the Cindy Crawford/Brad Pitt league and stick them on People Magazine most beautiful list. They are actors after all- not models or beauty pageant contestants, why should the fact that they act or sing make them necessarily beautiful?

    @@ted1990 I think the cruellest thing about physical beauty is only the minority of us are lucky enough to be born with it but beauty[or rather lack of it] really is the hardest for women and gay men ime. Studies show largely [as well as looking around you and using your common sense] that women care very little for physical beauty when seeking out partners so average/unattractive men can generally get away much easier in dating than their female counterparts who aren't blessed in the looks department . I have known so many average looking men who were complete Lotharios or unattractive men who have trophy wives. Had these men being gay they wouldn't have fared well at all as they were not physically attractive but they had character/masculine traits/status etc. Even men who are old or middle aged and unattractive [if they have money or status] can still do pretty darn well in picking up young trophy wives young enough to be their daughter-look at Trump,Michael Douglas and Boris Johnson. Men are much more visual/sexually orientated in seeking out partners and so women and gay men are much more judged by their looks and by their youth over their character or status. It's a terrible double standard and I'd argue strongly it's a standard more set by biology[ good old Testosterone] than society.

    Desirée Rodríguez the speaker made that question because in Scientology is not allowed to take psychiatric medicines. She is part of that "religion", but she made that movie which talks about psychiatry and medicine though. Actually they don't believe on psychology nor psychiatry. Otherwise, they use really weird techniques and torture people to "heal" them. Also, they ARE allowed to answer political and religious issues on tv if they want to.

    I sure would hate for the glib Tom Cruise to ever experience depression, bipolar or have an anxiety disorder. The seriousness of these illnesses are very real and very painful to experience or watch someone you love suffer with one. I know for a fact that medications for these illnesses save lives everyday. People on the brink of wanting to end their lives because they no longer want or can get out of bed, they no longer can even escape by sleeping so then what? What happens when you've been depressed for so long and you've escaped it by trying to sleep all the time then you can no longer even do this? The next escape is leaving this world. Please understand how real and serious these illnesses are and one can not simply snap out of it. You wouldn't say that to a cancer patient so please don't even ever think that someone suffering w/ a mental illness is capable of "snapping out it." I pray for you Tom Cruise you just don't have a clue, your debate on this issue is one sided, you have never walked in the shoes of someone that has a mental illness so how can you claim to know so much about it? To not believe in the practice of treating these illnesses?

    here here well said and utterly true! for cruise and scientology to actually believe that hey eat healthy, exercise and think happy thoughts can not only work on those with medium to severe behavior/mental issues, but that is all they need and that this works 100% of the time, 100% with everyone is the epitome of stupidity, wrong and dangerous if not clearly insanity! we are NOT talking about someone depressed occassionally, we are talking more extreme issues that people struggle with 24/7 for years and years.. people who can't EVEN FORM IN THEIR MINDS to eat healthy, exercise and think happy thoughts! i've always said cruise should thank lauer everyday SINCE this interview years ago for having pity on him and not ruining his image forever, because he could have done so easily if he had simply asked basic follow up questions like "where did you get your information from and what say you with those with greater mental behavior issues then post partum and everyday bummed out depression? when exercise, eating healthy and thinking happy thoughts (BEYOND BASIC COMMON SENSE stuff that makes everyone feel better whether they have physical or mental issues at all! duh!) does NOT WORK with those with severe issues? THEN WHAT? WHAT SAY YOU TOM?..

  • @thomasschmitz9894

    @thomasschmitz9894

    7 жыл бұрын

    ***** your last paragraph for the most part is true and COMMON SENSE. . the problem and issue is that cruise doesn't think these drugs SHOULD EVER EVER BE USED NO MATTER WHAT! no matter how mild, no matter how severe, no matter who or any under circumstance! that his beyond simplistic "eat healthy, exercise, think happy thoughts is the ONLY WAY, AND WORKS 100% of the time, 100% WITH EVERYONE!... and don't you DARE question him! how dare you!.. and why and how did he come to this conclusion tha his opinion is FACT and he mr. actor knows more then ANYONE? because of the insidious ridiculous money scam self help cult he's brainwashed into (and who he gets royally wrongly butt kissed by and he thinks this is not only normal from his "religion" or ANY religion/church/faith! but because he is who he thinks he is, he deserves it!) told him so!.. that's good enough for him!... not mentioned in this interview of course is is and is cult's belief that all, i repeat ALL psychiatry, psychiatrists, pharmaceutical companies and their employees are not only 100% wrong, but actually 100% evil! EVIL! and on purpose!.. and they have never EVER helped anyone! EVER! now if that isn't INSANITY AND BRAINWASHED BEYOND MEASURE STUPIDITY, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS!... and yet? isn't interesting that the richest scientologist in the world, a billionaire, named Bob Duggan, who has donated tens of millions of dollars (and with his family gets big ole gaudy golden trophies for his donations at annual big scientology events! yeah, this is normal for any religion/church/faith to have butt kissing wealthy only members receiving giant trophies for giving money away! how normal! religious/moral/holy like! NOT!!!!!!) made his money by creating and then selling what? A PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY! YES, THAT'S RIGHT!.. THE GREAT EVIL ALONG WITH PSYCHIATRY but scientology has no problem having him as a member and giving his tens of millions of dollars to them! THE EPITOME OF HYPOCRISY! SO this whole "anti-drug, anti-pharmaceutical company" is yet another B.S. SCAM to cover who and what they really are about! oh, wait, i forgot.. cruise doesn't know ANY OF THIS! UH HUH!...

    all of this. also, if you pay very close to attention to anti-depressant commercials, THEY SAY you can have suicidal thoughts and your depression can worsen. furthermore, it has been proven that doctors have advised their patients with depression to exercise and do activity to get endorphins going. tom wasn't completely wrong. his only mistake was using brooke shields as an example. PPD is a real thing that maybe meds can cure, but i am a disabled person who has been on anti-depressants that have never worked for me. why? because my issues are not a chemical imbalance, they are dealing with my disability and how people react to me because of it. doctors should have known that, but they just threw medicine in my face like that would solve things. it didn't.

  • @thomasschmitz9894

    @thomasschmitz9894

    Natalie Zayas-Bazan sorry for your condition and issues, however, TOM IS NOT ONLY WRONG about his "only mistake was using brooke shields as a example"... he and scientologist think 1) that exercise, eating healthy and thinking happy thoughts is ALL THAT ANYONE EVER EVER NEEDS! and it can and would work 100% of the time, 100% everytime and 100% with everyone!.. i'm sorry but this is UTTER RIDICULOUSNESS! of course doing these BASIC SIMPLISTIC acts helps, it helps EVERYONE whether physical or mental issues or not! everyone knows this! (what's next water is usually wet?).. the problem is 2) he and scientology ( you know the "religion" minus the science of any kind!) think that NO ONE in any way in any event for ANY reason should EVER EVER take anything that is "mind altering"... no matter how severe the issues! yeah, try tell a person with the various schizophrenic behaviors eat this and exercise and think happy thoughts and see how well that works! people like this who CAN'T EVEN FORM IN THEIR MINDS these acts, much less do them!..... 3) he and scientology do not even believe in mental illness and that the brain cannot be "mentally ill"? (they also believe that anything bad in your life is YOUR OWN FAULT because you "pulled it in"! (UH HUH!) 4) he and scientology believes that it's a TOTAL BLACK AND WHITE ISSUE (which of course it is not!) and that they and only they are right and that EVERYONE, THAT IS EVERYONE ELSE IS WRONG! 5) THEY actually believe all the problems in the world are caused by psychiatry and psychologists from world war 2, to the holocaust, to 9-11! and that ALL OF PSYCHIATRY AND PSYCHOLOGIST are not only 100% wrong, but actually EVIL! THAT'S RIGHT EVIL! AND ON PURPOSE!.... AND that they have never helped ANYONE!.. once again, this is ridiculousness and utter insanity! a destructive insidious money scam cult who claims to be all perfect and all knowing without a shred of scientific proof and EVERYONE else with said proof is wrong! and why? because they said so, only pointing out the negatives of the issue, which anyone can do about any issue, anyplace, anyone, anything! much much harder to prove that what you propose is better, which of course they can't!... in closing, and just how did mr.cruise get his expert opinion on the matter? how does he know the "history of psychiatry" (which of course like every science has had it's problems and wrongs but seeks and does improve in time)? BECAUSE OF WHAT his "religion" told him that's how! if it wasn't so utterly dangerous it would be fall down laughable! does ANYONE think mr.actor has spent years and years talking to doctors in all fields, researching, reading, attending clinicals and trials and so on and so on to be a expert in this very complex non black and white issue? OF COURSE NOT! my sister has mental issues from bi-polar, to o.c.d. and slight mental retardation... if it wasn't for drugs she would NOT be here much less functioning... would love to know how scientology cures "mental retardation"!.. and yet, the founder of this cult once interviewed (and that interview is on youtube here) actually stated that scientology had NO INTEREST in helping those with "issues" and that they were all about "making the able more able".. so there goes that whole caring about others and their crusade against psychiatry out the window! all this was was a "FRONT" for this cult to have something to "be against and fight against" meanwhile raking in the dough of those unsuspecting and kind hearted people... psychiatry and pharmaceutical companies the 2 great evils they are against.. NEVER MIND, the fact that the world's richest scientologist is one bob duggan, who made his money by creating and selling what you may ask? A PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY! AND YET? THEY'LL GLADLY TAKE HIS MILLIONS OVER THE YEARS! TALK ABOUT THEE EPITOME OF HYPOCRISY!..

    I'm a nurse and take an antidepressant; however, I agree with Tom. SSRIs are handed out way too often before exhausting other options. It's important to understand that there are warnings on these psychiatric drugs that come with terrible and harmful side effects. They can also have lasting effects on brain function and permanently rewire a person's mental state (not always for the best). It can be tragic in some cases in which a person becomes even worse; many leading to suicide, addiction, or inability to function without the drug ever again. Too bad Matt Lauer didn't do his homework and at least recognize that psychiatric drugs can be a major crap shoot. What I differ with Tom is that Psychiatry can be very beneficial; in that its not just handing out pills. There is a lot of cognitive behavioral therapy involved with some. In fact, any good psychiatrist worth his salt knows that prescribing a drug is half the treatment; the other half is actual therapy. The two must go together in order to become a stabilizing and healing outcome because it is both a chemical and mental imbalance. In the end though I don't think either of these morons are in any position to enter an opinion on a topic neither of them fully understand or qualified to represent.

    MsCF98 . Omg She didn’t left her kids behind. When they first divorced the had joint custody but at some point kids can choose which parent they want to live with and they choosed Tom. Also she declared as a suppressive person which means she’s the enemy of the church. Her kids chose their religion over their mother. It’s their choice. And if she wants to have a little relationship with her kids she can’t talk about them publicly. But Katie has her kid and she can talk but maybe legally not. We don’t know their situations.

    yea i do the same thing and idk it’s kinda like when you get used to certain facial expressions it’s hard to stop doing them. i have always tilted my head down with the half smile which a lot of people have connected to katie bc she said in an interview a while ago before her veneers when she was a teenager and adult she was very insecure about how they lined up which is kinda why i smile halfway too.

    Matt asks: "is it beneficial to treat 'these people' with drugs? seriously??? #1 stigmatizing #2 why would Katie be an expert on this? the term "mental illness" is used to describe a wide range of moods, emotions, behaviors, personality traits, etc. that are perceived to be "abnormal" there is a serious flaw in our mental health care system in that medical and mental health professionals use the DSM5 with what they refer to as a "Chinese Menu" approach there are many underlying medical conditions and exposure to substances, including medications, that are known to induce symptoms of "mental illness" the best treatment for "these people" involves testing for and treating the underlying cause even the routine use of over-the-counter cold medicine, the flu shot, or dehydration can induce psychotic symptom that are clinically indistinguishable from paranoid schizophrenia symptoms of severe mental illness can happen to anyone, including Today Show hosts

    I've been on psychiatric drugs for well over a decade now, and I don't trust psychiatry. The only reason I'm taking them now is because I'm also a poor loser who's not getting ANY proper treatment and I can't function properly without them. Also, the Alchemist (my word for them) I've been assigned is a lazy, overpayed, good for nothing *censored words*. The only time I can get anything useful out of the piece of **** is whenever I'm finally sitting in front of him and force information out of him. From someone who's had pro psychiatrists since since the time his age was in the single digits: don't bother with these Alchemists. Go to a real therapist with degrees in clinical psychology, make sure they diagnose you, research your own illness and problems, and research your rights.
