He doesn't simply hit the snare, he unconsciously hits ONLY the center. Dude's alien. One of the best techniques the world has seen.
@Jknoles78

I think he’s doing it consciously! 😂 Everything he does is with intention. He’s working on a who other level. So crazy.

@@siuleopouesi5794 Thanks! It was probably a semantic mistake of a non-native english speaker, but that's exactly what I meant to say: Matt has practiced so hard he's now hardwired to hit the snare perfectly without even thinking about it xD
Love this dude. Been drumming for 25+ years, metal.. jazz, funk.. fusion. This guys blows me away. He should donate his brain to science.

As a guitar player I sometimes come to this channel to have a few "WHAT THE FUCK?" moments. It's my guilty pleasure :D Drummers are amazing, and some of these guys are just insanely good. I don't even understand how Matt remembers these parts. It just doesn't fit in my head.

I play both. Before I played drums, I was playing guitar for a while. But it makes sense to me now, back before I played, I had no clue how drummers did it. But I think drummers also think that about guitarists.
@PrivasGuitar
7 жыл бұрын
They do. I began with the guitar, then moved to drumming, and have come full-circle back to embracing my original passion - the guitar. It's wonderful to dabble in both worlds, and helps populate your mind with ideas while considering how both the drums and guitar can co-exist and play off of, and with, one another. Though, I've spent FAR more time with the guitar, and, needless to say, Garstka is mind-blowing. He is a drummer's drummer. And a guitarist's dream.

Matt.... holy-hell is that tight! Nice composition. Big fan, buddy....
I like to check in once or twice a month just to revisit how ridiculously good this is!! Lol
I want to see them in the writing process. Landing all the insane time sig changes .it's incredible
to the guy who says that the drums should sound like matts drums on the chon album, that drum sound is PERFECT for chon with cleaner less distorted guitars, but if you place the distortion and heaviness of animals sound with tosin and Javier's heavy ass deep 8 string guitars, those drums on the chon will not sound good. It sounds good to you in the context you heard it, imagine those drums sounds on tooth and claw or wave of babies or tempting time or mind spun, that chon drum sound will sound super weak. That's my personal opinion but I think most people would agree. There's a reason why deep booming sounding drums work best with heavy music and more natural garage style sounding drums work best with mellow chill music.
This was djust perfect.

What a freak! I love this guy.
Outstanding
he is so in control and it is so bloody ridiculously obvious that all of this is absolutely a cake walk and that he doesnt have to use any effort, mentally or physically to execute it flawlessly, that it just makes it hard to truly estimate just how fucking far behind any of us really are from anything close to his skill level
I love this song
Fragging BEEAAASSTT !!! 🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉
If there's one thing I just can't seem to pull off, it's that constant left foot counting time on the hi-hat. Jay Postones does it as well, it must be something ingrained from formative years because adding that foot to songs this complex just does my head in
I really wish I knew what it's like to be a living cheat code for percussion. Matt G. is the very definition of unfair.
