I love that he celebrates at the end! It gives me the feeling that he's human, even though we know he's not
genie appears: "you have one wish" "i want world peace" "can't you wish something easier?" "let me play drums like Matt Garstka" "alright , let me see what i can do for the middle east"

Matt's humility and down to earth personality definitely fits the badass nostalgic melodic guitar riff at the end. Makes the video even better than it already is.
His ghost notes have personality...dynamics. All while being rrrrrrolled out at breakneck speed and in incredibly complex combinations with hard strokes. Speechless!
I swear everytime Matt Gartska posts a play along video whatever song it is it instantly becomes my favourite most listened to song for the next month lol

I like how he makes the last cymbal hit at the end as if he's done with the track. Like he doesn't want to touch it at all anymore because he's done exactly what he's wanted to do with it and exhausted it.

I could listen to the outro on repeat....
The best drummer of this generation. Without question. I guess what I should have written was the following: In MY opinion, Matt is one of the best drummers of this generation. No need for this to be a competition. I have looked up each of the drummers that have been mentioned in the comments, and I enjoy learning about any good or great drummer I can find. I can learn from bad drummers, as well as good drummers. What is important to remember, is that there is always room at the top. Matt wasn't always an awesome drummer. He had to work at it. As Benny Greb has noted; he didn't start out being able to groove; he had to learn how to groove... The more awesome drummers there are out there, pushing the limits and leading the way, the better it is for all of us. Matt is a trailblazer, I have seen him in action. I know and have seen his dedication to getting better and practicing. This type of perseverance is what we, as musicians, should all aspire to. All the best to each of you! Mike

Elliott Hoffman is criminally underrated. The guy would be as adept playing with Chick Corea as he would be with Meshuggah. Ridiculous talent, technique and subtlety.
Just upgraded to a 1440p monitor a few hours ago and now get to experience Garstka slay in 2K. What a present!
Never clicked on a link so fast in my fuckin life.
my dude finishes a hefty season that wouldve left me dead and he still has the energy to jump around. I love that he still goes off at the end but incorporates the grooves still
Fucking phenomenal drummer, god he's just sooo good! Hands down one of the best drummers alive in my opinion. Feel free to let me know about any other drummers you think are up there.

Elliot Hoffman’s the only contemporary one I can think of. Of course there are the elder sages-Collaiuta, Weckl, Gary Novak, Horatio Hernandez. They’d still give Matt a run for his money
My favorite drummer. Animals is lucky to have a drummer like Matt. Keep it up man. Loved this video
Matt you never cease to amaze me! I don't know how you do it, but every time I catch one of your videos, you keep on improving in everything from your posture behind the kit, your "in the zone" drumming, your musicality, and on and on.... Blessings!!!
The tripple feeling is everywhere. The best drummer at all, period! Thank you Matt!
Amazing to watch and just hear what's being played. Masterful techniques.
so satisfying to watch this comin straight from you man, god bless the talent 🙌

Beautiful stuff, Matt! Love the reaction at the end :)
When you leave a like mid way through the video because you can't get over what it is you're watching and have the same reaction Matt does after you've left the like
This dude is on a level with legends twice his age. Unreal
Their songwriting has gotten so much more delightful over the years... I start seeing these gigantic, glowing circles that pulse with the music right around 2:44 - a sense of arrival, then that magestical solo, and finally a peaceful end... Edit: Their*

Amazing!! The light in the video looks great and the stuff you play is incerible. Love your art of drumming!!
Haha I never had such a blast literally just watching someone play drums lmao, especially near the ending of the chorus and the freakin outro. Man this is some beastly stuff, whew, truly one of the best drummers of our generation
Matt Garska, you're a big motivation, youre already a legend.
good lord...the solo on this is from another universe
I just love when I read the comments and there's one about Matt being greater than the metronome. This guy is really amazing. I love to watch him play. It's like moving art. And the music ain't bad either.
So glad you posted this one. Besides the brain dance this is probably my favorite song on the album.
BEST PURCHASE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER!
God damn. I cant even formulate a sentence than can adequately express how amazing this was. I wish there was a step above just "liking" a video.
Awesome and a great production
damn one of the best videos I've ever seen!
This is what mastery on the drums sounds and looks like, kids!
That guitar tone though!!! The drummer just on another level
lol. the madness of matt is such a great title. amazing talent as always
These videos have me on the verge of buying a Tama kit... Some of the best drum tones out there right now.
I've been waiting for this to release, and I really wanna purchase the series.
i mean.. im loss for words. he is incredible and thats still an understatement
Absolutely beautiful man
I look at the most notorious drummers as an inspiration... Matt Garstka on the other hand (almost) encourages me to set my drumset on fire and never even mention I once "played". This is what modern drumming is all about!

the best!!!! awesome, great music!
I loved the victory dance at the end!
Really nice sounding Tama and Meinl cymbals. Matt you are unreal.
At 2:12 Matt looks like a really happy fish gulping for air.
Matt, you got damn beast! Jumping around in the end like you nailed a drum cover. Lol
The human mind is capable of great things. Bravo sir.
Fantastic. Thank you for this.
This was a very good example of an 80s movie sondtrack.thank you.
Those modulations are sick!
Man, this is sick!
just have to appreciate how beautiful the hardwood is paired with the light and dark contrasted cymbal layout.
This is the benchmark for drumming. Note for note. He who can play this note for note has proved their wait in gold.
wow the ending was very impressive by far! Love AAL
That was absolutely beautiful
That snare sound. SOOOOO. CRISSPPPPPP.
I watch this at least once or twice a week
I always put the same smiley at all videos of Matt playing Animals As Leaders 🤯 but I’ m always like it 🤯 yes
The ending melody is the euphoria of writing and playing through this song!
This is so high on the list of my favorite songs from AAL, and this playthrough makes it even harder to decide what that list exactly is!
wrote a song titled Drummer face . you were a big inspiration . people think its show-man-ship , just cross wired synapse resulting in drummer face
Awesome in depth drumming..:)
The Madness of Many are their Masterpiece
That was pretty masterful playing.
3:47 "avada kedavra" 3:57 spell takes affect, slays the song
love the guitar at the end
Matt is the guy who played odd times and polyrhythms on desks back in school .
Good Lord! This whole jam is SMOKIN
That's amazing - just wow
I've just noticed that he plays the ghost notes on the inner circle of the snare and the regular notes right on the center. And he never misses one milimeter
Got to love how Matt looks like he's panicking when drums. But his timing and accuracy is perfect.
Matt, you're amazing.
Awesome drum sound.
