Matsya Avatar - The First Avatar Of Vishnu
Matsya, the first avatar of Vishnu, is in the form of a fish. Vishnu took the form of Matysa to rescue the Manu, the first man as per the Hindu epics from a huge destruction.
Once King Satyavrata (the real name of ‘Manu’) was performing a sacred ceremony besides a river. While scooping in some water from the river to offer to Surya, the Sun God, he accidentally caught a tiny fish in the palm of his hand. Satyavrata was ready to release the fish back into the water, but the fish requested otherwise. The tiny fish begged him not to throw it back into the river as the river had bigger fishes that would prey upon it. To save itself from other predators of the sea, the fish requested the King to take it along with him to his palace, convincing him that his palace would be safe and big enough to accommodate a small fish. King Satyavrata took pity on the little fish and took it with himself to his palace. Upon reaching there, he put the fish in a small bowl. The King was happy and satisfied that he was able to save the life of this little being. The next morning Satyavrata came to check on the fish and was surprised to see that the tiny fish he had brought with him had grown large enough to fill the entire pot. This time the King transferred the fish to the largest lake of his Kingdom, but in no time the fish outgrew the lake too. The King had no other option but to drop the fish into the ocean from where he originally rescued it. He apologized to the fish that despite being a King he could not save her or provide enough to ensure her survival. As the fish was dropped into the ocean, its size knew no bounds. It grew beyond what Satyavrata eyes could see. At this point, Satyavrata concluded that this was no ordinary animal, but it had to be a divine appearance of God.
After seven days, as Matsya had predicted, huge clouds appeared in all directions and began pouring on land and sea. The huge waves from the ocean flowed into the land, becoming one with it. Soon there was no land in sight and the entire earth was flooded with water. Then Satyavrata with all his companions saw a large mysterious boat floating towards them across the waves. Remembering the words of Matsya, Satyavrata onboarded the Seven Rishis, animals, all his belongings and himself on the boat, finding some safety. Soon Matsya appeared there with the snakkue Vasuki. Vasuki tied itself to the boat on side and held on to the horns of Matsya on the other side. Matsya with the help of Vasuki towed the boat across the waters of devastation. For countless days, darkness covered the world and they wandered across the stormy ocean waiting for the water to subside. During their journey and days of patience, Vishnu in the form of Matsya preached King Satyavrata and the seven sages the spiritual knowledge of the Vedas.
Thus, Vishnu - The Preserver from the holy Trinity, was able to save mankind and brought them into the new era, the beginning of Satya Yuga. Satyavrata came to be known as ‘Manu’, the first man and the seven sages who accompanied became the Saptarishis going on to repopulate the earth.

MATSYA: Matsya was a cute fish that functioned as one of the best inspirations ever. Many say that the story of Matsya is a reference to the first stages of aquatic life, but what everyone must keep in mind in order to understand is the context. The story clearly states that human beings (Manu) existed already, along with the Saptarsī. Multiple floods occurred in the past, but the story of Matsya refers to THE flood, the same that is mentioned in Atrahasis and in the Bible, and recorded throughout all the civilizations of the Planet. It was a time when men were not yet capable to build properly any tool, and only a "peculiar fish" was able to suggest the idea of a boat. Let's say that any engineer who wants to project an airplane has to study first the anatomy of the birds. These are the following reasons why Lord Vishnu chose to appear not in the form of a man: 1) Because adharma was so vast that there were no men able to connect through Samadhi; 2) It was a time when human beings were not enough educated and did not have enough knowledge to survive; 3) Because Lord Vishnu likes to display His might through everything, even what is considered the lowest specie. Matsya's horn and the "rope/serpent" are symbols that celebrate the support of the Cosmo/Fate and the importance of that meeting. For their salvation was bound to that fish.

Doubt it is the same Flood mentioned in other civilizations. First as far as i know Krishna Avatar and events of Bhagavad Gita are believed to happen about ~60000-70000 years ago and those other cultures are believed to happen way way much recently as for Bible believers ~4000 years ago, Graham Hancock propose ~12000 years ago....

Yes. The ship of Sathyavrat landed in Mount Ararat in Turkey. Scientists discovered the boat in that mountain. Except the great flood, no other way a ship can reach the mountain top.

Not just western world, other ancient races had similar story. Some scholar believe that Christ's story is distorted story of Krishna - if you read story of both births you will arrive at similar conclusion too.

Religion is something humans of collective faith introduced and it has been altered for years into different versions and into other sub sects. All religions are based upon blind devotion to benefit religious organizations. The universe, the higher power has always existed. Humans just gave different meanings to it.

@@NikhilKumar279 think of it this way Bhagwan Bramha takes a nap and wakes up, during this time Bhagwan Kalki destroys all evil ending Kaliyuga and that cycle of creation and then Devi Kali and Bhagwan Shiva destroy the universe. Bhagwan Bramha starts new cycle by recycling and creating things out of the stuff that was destroyed and fell in Garbodakaya ocean. Manu is created in the order Bhagwan Bramha decides but doesn't have any good place to go to. he gets put on some place which is not so perfect but starts leading those along with him as he was made king, then as per granthas, Bhagwan Matsya appears just before the not optimized land is going to be reset fully so Bhagwan Bramha could start creating land and then you know what happens

Wow, Noah was asked to build a boat for the flood. I wonder if it was his boat that came. Would make sense as wildlife would be different in the regions so more samples would be needed to be preserved.

@@hendrahendra5156 Manu is called Nuuh in middle east By dropping ma sound and later in islamic culture, sanskrit words have uh or ah sound to them sometimes at the end. eg shivay becomes shivayah ram becomes ramah. And nuuh became Noah for european civilization.

That's highly unlikely oldest written fragments of Torah(The Silver Ketef Hinnom Scrolls ) dates to around 700 BC whereas oldest sanskrit manuscript about Hinduism(Spitzer Manuscript) dates aroun 80-230 AD.

It's both in the same story. The english/christian stole this story from older civilizations. The 'great flood' story is common among Indian, Egyptian and other older civilizations.

I learned this Gujarati saying recently "Aag Lage Pachi Kuvo Khodva Jai." Means never wait for a fire to start digging a well. Have the well and hopefully there's no fide but if there is you have the water to put the fire out. Alternatively I guess one could start building a well after the fact but hey better rush and get some heavy equipment if they can.... And even then it's a bad situation

So, questions remained. King Satyabrata ( Manu) was a king in which period ? I mean was it before creation of mankind in earth India which began in Satya yuga. Another word question is king Satyabrata was last generation of Debota habitation in earth India ? Did King Satyabrata evolved as human being from debota ? He was named as 'Manu'. But Brahma's son(creation) was a Manu too. Name Manu is mentioned in different stories. We need all these purana stories narrated. We need to know all as much as possible for our knowledge. Thanks. Kalpa is 14 manu. Manu lives for 308,571,428 years. Probably this is one and the same person, since his wife is present there, eternally young until the death of Shatarup. But something else is interesting. In the next manvantara, there is a combination Vishnu and Indra. If we make comparisons with the material that is, it turns out that part of the Scandinavian history falls on this period.

There are 14 Manvantras in every Kalpa. In every Manvantras different Demigods and Manus takes birth. At the end of one Manvantra a King (choosen by God) becomes Manu for next Manvantra. King Satyavarta was a King in previous Manvantra, at the end of 71 Kalyuga of 6th Manvantra (71 Chaturyugas in one Manvantra), in this present 7th Manvantra he took birth from God Sun as Human and became first King and Manu of this 7th Manvantra known as Vaivasvat Manvantra. "Vaivasvat "is the name of present Manu who was king Satyavarta in previous birth. And the name of present Sun God is Vivasvaan and tge name of Indra (King of Demigods), in present Manvantra is "Purandara". Manu is a post, same Indra is a post like President. God elects the soul on this post. Change happens in every Manvantra. In next 8th Manvantra "Saavarni" will be the Manu. Everything is maintained in scriptures that who will be the Demigods, Manu with names. For example King Bali who presently resides in Sutala-loka will be the Indra (king of Demigods&Heaven) of Next Manvantra. First Human was Swayambhu Manu who was the son of God Brahma.

King Satyabrata as human started Satya yoga or what ? You know stories should have consistency. Manu is origin of human beings. Stories say that before creation of mankind only Debotas, Asuras and Ishwar was living in planets including earth India. After human, Debota habitation no longer in earth. For example Devi Parvati was born in earth because her parents (Debota) were living in earth India. Stories are saying human beings started in satya yoga. We see stories of humans in Satya yuga, Treta yuga and Dwapar yuga has mantra miracles, Debotas, chiranjibis were within reach and they could be communicated. They appeared in certain occasions, events, situations etc. But in koli yuga no longer miracles, Debotas are not present, not visible, not appearing, not communicating with earth humans. Now is science, technology. Anyway stories of puranas should be consistent. That's the point. Thanks.

He(sathyavarathan) is a pandiyan king and the river that mentioned is krithamala. Even today river vaigai is called as krithamala and the sathlapurana of kudalazhagar(vishnu) temple in madurai city clearly explains the things you denied to say. Let people know the clear story.

That flood of manu is the flooding of kumari kandam.She has not yet studied both the legends if she had known the kumari legend.It would have been easy to relate it.Interesting from Atlantis sinking to kumari kandam flooding ,to flood of Noah there is a almost a memory of a great flood everywhere.Somewhere buried deep within our consiousness a painful memory of a huge flood which almost wiped out humanity is still retained as legends and mythology

@@YT-pm2sc oh dude our ancestors were the one who gave us this knowledge.The flood of manu from manusmriti clearly mentions the sinking of the tamil kingdom and Vishnu took matsya Avatar to transport people to india.This Aryan Dravidian divisive ideology and all I have no interest in.But I have interest in siddha and Ayurveda medicine and digging out history of Atlantis and Lemuria and why the legends came.What existed before 10000 years?Who founded siddha and ayurvedic medical systems?The tons of martial art systems like adimurai,kuthuvarisai,thattuvarisai,adimurai,varma kalai,valari martial arts in palm scripts that are yet to hit the mainstream.Who founded them? From where they moved?

We can find traces of Time Travel from this Ancient historical Event. God Brahma made King Satyavarta, "Manu" of Seventh Manavantra in Next Kalpa. We know there are 14 Manvantras in each Kalpa. A Kalpa is day of God Brahma in which he creates material world. At night when he sleeps destruction of this material world takes place. Night of God Brahma is equal to his day. A Kalpa is equal to 4,294,080,000 years and one Manvantra is equal to 306,720,000 years. In this present Kalpa Six Manvantras has passed. So 306,720,000 × 6 = 1,840,320,000 years. One Night of God Brahma + Six Manvantras 4,294,080,000 + 1,840,320,000 = 6,134,400,000 years. So it took 6,134,400,000 years for them to cross the ocean. After crossing the ocean he enters into the Sixth Manvantra directly and take birth from Sun God Vivasvaan and becomes Manu of this Manvantra.

@@pdd1240 what a mystery where is that ocean? After Pralaya earth with all other planets including space dwells under the water. It is known as "Ekaaranawa Jal" in which Lord Vishnu resides. We know that every particle in its most subtle form is liquid. So everywhere everything is liquid so that is ocean so it means in one unknown single particle whole manifestation of material world takes place ? Or at same time two different things happens in different dimension ?

@@sachinpotdar7798 no it's not Shir Sagar, Shir Sagar is situated at "Shweta Dweep" which exist in different dimension of Universe. That ocean on which King Satyavarta was sailing is "Ekaarnava Jal", which always been exists before cosmic manifestation.

Most of comments mentioning symbolism, indeed old texts especially Sanskrit have many interpretations & can be elaborated based on person's comprehension. But here it seems ancient past, if you look all the cultures, religions mentioned great flood like ark of noah, this one & ancient sumerians & even older ones. Sphinx body in Giza has severe water abrasion but there is no water, flood, rain or water bodies of that scale in that region for several thousands years. Also new studies show when earth magnetic poles shift(and they do shift after long period) earth stop rotation for a while but water, Oceans, atmosphere have kinetic inertia through which ocean & storm still moves close to 1000 km per hour leading to sunamies to unbelievable scales on whole planet. So may be that is very ancient history which is misunderstood as folk lore or teaching some lessons.

similar stories are found across all religions. this may have happened some time in the history and has been propagated all over the world with some variations. the core of the story remains the same though. storm. water. flood. boat. humans and animals in boat. life on earth survives.
