Very honest review u are the only angler ive ever saw using them so its certainly something different and we are all tackle tarts to some extent i hate the thought of setting up and im just a clone of every other angler we all want a bit of individuality cheers for the video tight lines

Thanks I always try to be honest through my reviews. They definitely stand out a bit from standard barrel bobbin. Haha nice to be a bit out there now and then lol

Good honest review, I’ve used them myself in the past and had the same issues you mention hence the reason I sold em and now use some tarty ones from kudos which I highly recommend. Really enjoy your vids btw, keep em coming 🤙🏻

Old school love it! Yeh I was tempted by an original set that goes in the ground on Ebay other month haha I resisted just!

The reason they don’t work very well and stick is because they are in the wrong place for monkey climbers. They should be further away from the alarm so the line angle isn’t so sharp. They are also pointless with modern bait runners, monkey climbers are for open bail arm setups. Did lots of setup tests back when making them out of umbrella arms and empty film canisters :)

I was using monkey climber bobbins, back in the 1980's, The stainless steel pins were long / straight and pushed into the ground. The bobbins were made of white PTFE and were self lubricating, so never had problems with them sticking. Guess nowadays, bling tarty carp tackle, is what sells the most products, while functionality comes 2nd?

Never had this problem with mine m8 '' smooth as a baby's bum mine is 👍
