Matriarchs of Acoma pueblo

Join Amy Johnson, our Curator of Collections for a look at four Acoma Pueblo potters. Lucy M. Lewis, Marie Z. Chino, Juana Leno, and Jessie Garcia rightfully gained credit as Matriarchs in their discipline. Their unique clay creations and designs formed the basis and inspiration for contemporary potters. Amy will show you our collection of their works as acknowledgement and tribute to all Mothers and Matriarchs.
