@@rockertron No problem, was good to meet you. Yep, I saw the show - seems like yesterday! - They recorded me with some of my buys at the time but it didn't make the edit, but I bet they cut out tons of stuff. Who knows, it may feature in DVD extra scenes one day 😂

Oh wow...I have TWO of these, one in about the same condition as the one you show here, the other "VG+" which I've owned for 30 years or more...now I wonder if they're fakes. As you show, this is another model which is easy to take apart and reassemble with very little evidence of tampering.

What percentage of the cars sold on eBay for the $30-$40 range would you say are fakes? I have been buying up some of the old ones I had as a kid, not for collecting, but just nostalgia. Now I’m wondering if I paid too much.

Hi, there isn't generally a problem in this price range. It's more when fake models are sold in their hundreds as genuine examples should be thousands. Scum bugs don't fake models to make a few dollars they want to make hundreds. G

Why destroy them when you could do a custom makeover. There would be no question of a customised model being passed off as a fake and the result would be a unique looking model. It's a pity to destroy any model.

Use of rivets by Lesney to assemble these models is just plain stupid😂these models should be bolted from the beginning, this reminds me of when the front fenders on cars used to be welded to the body 😂now the fenders are screwed on ...

Well, to be fair to Lesney these were just sold as 2 bob child's toys. Never did anybody know back then that scumbags would come along and fake them to unsuspecting victims. This is why I do these videos to at least make people aware of what these low life fraudsters do. G

@@jasonblackforest4330 - Lesney didn't use 'a rivet'.. they flared out the posts cast into the body in a press, the post was also used to hold the casting during the paint process before assembly and pressing. Their models were exquisitely engineered and Lesney were anything but 'stupid'. The base would bend and buckle before what Graham did with leverage would happen, that was the point he was making. The base wasn't even level. Any copy should be drilled and clearly re-fixed with a replacement screw or push in steel rivet to make it obvious and sold as a non genuine copy, done well someone gets a model they can't otherwise afford.
