Now I don't feel bad about missing the Classics version. I wish they would make a better version of every Classics figure like they have with Beast-Man, Trap-Jaw & Two-Bad. I really want a New Eternia glow-in-the dark Scare glow that blows away the Classics version.

@user-jp3vl5jx1j I always loved the Classics designs. They really have that modernized vintage nastalgia and made every single figure and beyond. The Masterverse has pin less joints and better articulation for certain poses. They are just another MOTU variant style to me, like skins in popular video games. I like to have and do different things with both.

I can see why almost everyone online is saying this the perfect Trap Jaw. He really does look fantastic! I didn’t realize that about the interchangeable jaw. It’s also cool that the sword can be plugged in as well for a fourth option. I personally wouldn’t use it because I’m just used to the main three (the rifle was always my weapon of choice), but it’s great to have several options. As far as the new packaging goes, I don’t mind it that much. There’s still a window at least (albeit smaller than before), so you can still see most of the figure inside. Just part of the gradual move to go plastic-free unfortunately. I think this new packaging is a good compromise. Great figure and review! Like I said before, I’m playing major catch-up on a number of these.

Thanks for stopping in to check out this Trap-jaw review and trying to catch up and spend your time and interest in watching my videos. I know your son was sick! I hope he is doing much better now! Yes, this has to be one of the coolest looking Trap-jaw figures and designs yet! Classics will always be great going back to the vintage nastalgia, but modernized. This Masterverse Version feels like a mix between the Classics, Filmation, 200x, but with the Newer Masterverse design. That's arm, and interchangeable accessories are all you want in this figure. That changeable chaw is really cool as well. I also like the Blaster best. That's what always kept on my vintage Trap-jaw as a kid. They really went all out with this figure. The box looks beautiful! But it's a small window. It does seem to scratch easy. I take my figures out now. So it's fine for myself. I like the direction the New Eternia line is taking many of these figures like Trap-jaw 👍

Man, this guy looks amazing!! Trap Jaw is my favourite character. I got him and panthor as my first evil warriors as a kid for Christmas. I usually only collect Origins, but I’ll get the masterverse characters that I really like. Skipped the first one cause it looked like shit lol. But this one, I’ll have to grab at some point. Love the interchangeable jaw. Awesome review, as always.

Thanks for checking the review out as always, man! Yeah, they really did a good job on this Trap-jaw figure compared to the Revalation one that seemed really dull and more simple looking. This figure looks very serious and detailed. I can see many other collectors who really don't collect the Masterverse line, possibly picking up this figure because of who cool he came out, and Trap-jaw is always a fan favorite!👍

Oh dude, this one blows 1,000% the classics version out of the water. Best Trap Jaw action figure ever released. Galaxies apart. Great review as always!

@MrUniq No The Classics will never be affordable on eBay. They were a collection of their own time and are still considered one of the best modernized Versions of the Vintage figures. They are very nastalgic in that sense. I really like certain Masterverse figures and think they have certain features or better articulation over some Classics figures. But at the same time, the classics will always be number one for me and many who have the figures already. The Masterverse is a good option for people who don't have or want to spend the money on Classics and still get a highly detailed and articulated Modernized 7 inch Motu figure.

@MrUniq Modern-day toys are definitely getting worse with cost and lack of detail. Unless you go to figures like Neca and Super7 ultimates, and then they are $50 dollars plus!

The Masterverse line is becoming top-class. The figures are more and more beautiful, I'm sure that in the future the New Eternia collection will give us some nice surprises. I can't wait to get my hands on this Trap Jaw and the new Man At Arms. Great review as usual!

I think the Masterverse line is really putting out some cool figures and getting better with each wave. This Trap-jaw figure is one of the coolest looking New Eternia remastered versions of the popular core characters' figures yet. I can't wait for Tri-Klops and Meckaneck to come. I wasn’t too keen on him during the event reveal but after seeing him in hand he look’s awesome. The armor is great, his deco is really detailed and well colored. His face is closer to the latest interpretations(which ditch the rounded/cartoon look). I didn’t like that at first but now I do. It’s a good stern expression although I wouldn’t have minded more of a scowl. I personally plan to add a few more paint details when I get one but it’s more than adequate out of the box. Really glad they used the appropriate man-e-faces parts like classics did.

Thanks for taking the time to check out the review! I think they really nailed the overall design and accessories with this New Eternia Trap-jaw for many of those details you just mentioned. He definitely looks more realistic or detailed better than the Revalation Trap-jaw that seemed simple going back to the cartoon design. The expression and head sculpt look good for this new look. But I wouldn't mind a head with a little darker look. It's also fun to get these figures and add some paint or accessories. Customizing is a big part of the Origins and Masterverse figures today with many collectors. This figure and the newer Masterverse figures are up for Preorder now at Big Bad Toy store!

Same as some other folk in the comments, I wasn't that excited about this figure when it was revealed but he looks awesome in hand. Really looking forward to him now. Thanks for the review

I think they really did a good job with the design and accessories for the Nrw Eternia line. He definitely looks better or more realistic than the Revalation Trap-jaw figure that was more plain in design going back to the cartoon. It's awesome you check out my last collection tour, and you think and collect the same way I do. I try to mix different figures and accessories all over. Certain areas I will just set up the Motu stuff or NECAs, for example. But I have weird things and miniature sea creatures or small-scale weapons and guns all over. I try to collect and mix all the interests I had from childhood, but in Toy form. I always loved sea creatures, guns, horror, Ghostbusters, He-man, and Godzilla, or just creatures and monsters. So that's what I built over the years in my man cave! It's cool to hear other people doing the same thing, too! Thanks for sharing that👍

Dude this figure is awesome! Trapjaw (here in Brazil he is Called "mandíbula" that is Just JAW, no trap hahaha) is my favorite villain f the franchise, and this one is amazing. I stopped buy this collection, but If I can, I Will get this trapjaw for sure! Great Review as aways!!!

yeah man been big fan of channel for good bit now, hey for what its worth i dont give shit how ya get the figs lol. you show the box and all that so thats good for me. Also you legit have helped me with buying choices. Multiple times ive been in target with figs under my arms watching reviews (not just of motu but spawn and all) seeing which figs you like and which didnt really vibe for ya so yeah your reviews help me make good purchasing choices as well as entertainment. Keep getting em in early and reviewing brother!

Thanks, man! I always appreciate the support and hearing your comments! Yeah, I wasn't even going to mention anything about having these in hand and the issues with reviewing them early before the official retail release dates. There's some issues with that where people get in trouble sometimes picking these up in the wild early by sellers that get early access from the distribution ahead of a schedule and posting them or a full review on social media. I only said something because I have had these over a week now, and I'm not reviewing them quickly as I do. But other channels are already doing it, and they haven't had the videos flagged yet. I think Mattel even cares or knows that their products are already coming out of the factory and when half the time. I'm sure it's very complex today creating and shipping Toys now. Aside from that, I'm happy to hear that my reviews or early peaks at certain figures allow you to budget and make good decisions on the value of the figure and is it worth the cost and chase getting them! That's the whole point of me picking up, paying extra costs, and posting this stuff on my channel 👍

Thanks for the comparisons. I hate when reviewers don't do relevant comparisions.

I'm really happy with the overall design and look for this New Eternia Trap-jaw. The head is definitely an improvement over the revalation figure. I, too, didn't mind that look. "..raised his *cybertic* claw.." and we're off to a great start hah! Good comparisons and swaps as always. Love that they made the accessories backwards-compatible and his eyes creepy, which makes him better than the Super7 mini-comic Classics for sure, but in terms of the leaner (and cheaper) aesthetics and silhouette, this still can't top the G1 Classics yet. That sports bra strap is pretty awkward looking on the front, and skimping out on the gloss red paint for the gore jaw together with packaging typos... *sigh* Mattel, so close, and again, yet so far. Will probably keep the head and accessories for this one, and then the body goes into the plastic graveyard again.

So I ended up buying this guy and New Eternia TriKlops at a local comic shop, at very great prices, they had sold out of MV Mechaneck, and King Keldor, but Keldor I can get on eBay at a reasonable price, But there are others I want more, Thanks for the reviews, it always helps to decide on what to focus on buying / ordering. I also have the Revelation version of Trapjaw, and don't mind having 2 versions of a character, I have 2 Merman, 2 Beastman, 3 Evil Lyn, and 4 Skeletor in MV form (lol)

Great Hauls on those New Eternia Tri-Klops and Trap-jaw figures! They are some of the best figures in those waves! Meckaneck is another must-have but hard to find sometimes at retail. The king Keldor is more a figure for a MOTU political or historical character to collect but kind of bland compared to the other figures. I also don't mind having multiple versions of characters like Trap-jaw and Tri-Klops from Revelation because they also have a unique look. I collect them all! Thanks for watching as always! First class review! I wasn’t a fan of this figure when it was initially shown, seemed a bit off and skinny. But now I really dig it. It’s nice to have a classic TJ as well as the Motherboard version with a different look. I think I may display him with the steel jaw. Looks very Frankensteinesque

Oh lord. You got the mini comic trap jaw Classics version. That's the only figure missing in my collection. Imo, they should have used glow in dark plastic to mimic his energized form.

Yeah, I had that Mini comic book Trap-jaw figure for a while. That was part of an SDCC exclusive set when super7 had the license. The skin is very bright. But it's not glow in the dark. That would have been cool. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts 👍

it's kinda weird that pixeldan is the YTer that is known for MOTU but I find these reviews so much more insightful and entertaining. They also have sold me on some of these figures much more than his brief reviews.

@josray2557 lol. Thanks, I appreciate the support! Pixal Dan is a big inspiration of mine, to be honest! But he has his own style and way of doing things. Plus, he is very popular and busy keeping ahead. As far as my health. I have degenitive arthritis and mixed connective tissue disease. I have been struggling for 10 years. I'm in constant pain, and I get this chronic Tendonapthy issue all over my body when I start to do too much. I go into these flares that keep me in bed on and off all day. I have trouble walking, and I can't sit or stand for long periods. I was permanently injured and developed a disease from a medication called Levaquin. Or if you look up Flouroquinolone toxicity syndrome. Then you can read the rabbit hole with certain peoples lives that get ruined from the medication. It's a long story. But that's about it. I have good days and a lot of bad, unfortunately. But I try to keep going the best I can!👍

well damn dude.. I have a friend with RA and that sounds very similar to what you go through. Constant pain etc. That sucks... very sorry to hear that. We always exceed our predecessors. They set the benchmark and we cross it. I tried to emulate Jim Lee's art for years then moved past all that haha. @@Themanchlid

@josray2557 Yeah, my issues are very similar to Lupus and RA. I also developed Fibromaylgia as well. It is what it is! I used to be an artist, too. I would draw a lot of sea life and things like that. I also used to be a scuba diver, mechanic, and welder. I worked 21 years in a wastewater treatment plant before I got ill and resigned. I have been a toy collector for 26 years now. I grew up with the Vintage MOTU line and had most of the collection. One thing I never had was the Eternia playset. Now I have the Origins Eternia sitting in my living room in the box. It came a few days ago. I can't really do much with it at this time because of my condition. I'm gonna have my good friend come over and help set it up at some point. Then I will film it.👍

This Trap jaw is awesome. My only complaint is his claw accessory. I love the swappable jaw part, but the non detachable part of the claw makes it look like a shark with a huge over bite. Does not look like it would be effective in battle.

Thanks for watching the review! I guess they wanted to make the claw look very menacing and different. Also, it needed to be larger so it could fit the swapping Jaw piece. Of course, in a real-life battle, that would never be practical! But in the Motu Reality, anything can go!👍

I just pre-ordered all this new shit on BBTS. $191 order. 🙄 Mekaneck, Tri-Klops, Battle Armor He-Man, Man-At-Arms, Orko/Gwildor, Skeletek, Sorceress Teela & movie Evil-Lyn are up but not Snout Spout. I was hoping Snout Spout would be too. Out of all the new reveals I think Snout Spout is the best. I think Snout spout is the only new reveal that's not up for pre-order yet. He's probably a deluxe. He's huge next to all the other figures. Definitely over-sized. And *I LOVE IT!*

@@Themanchlid I like everything except those Filmation figures. I hate the cartoon figures except for Teela. I pre-ordered Teela. She looks really good compared to the SDCC reveal. I'll probably get Evil-Lyn too. But for the most part, I hate the Filmation look.

@sci-fi.tsunami The filmation figures are very popular with many people. I guess many fans of the cartoon are always looking for versions of figures that look more like the characters in that cartoon compared to the vintage figures that had a different look. I like the idea of seeing filmation figures mixed in the line now. But I would prefer the Vintage Inspired or Classics looking figures first!

Oh man, NE Trap Jaw is GREAT, and basically improvement over Revelation in every aspect, but I am sooooo conflicted about so many things!!! (ofc I'm still getting him XD ). We don't even have to discuss the head, they nailed it this time, and that mechanical arm looks excellent, but damn it, it's too big and when you add any of the available accessories it makes it look way too long and disproportionate... In addition, it's bulkier than any mech arm we ever saw on Trap Jaw figure so I don't know if I should just put him instead of Revelation or should I switch the heads and keep the Revelation body with NE Head as my main Trap Jaw instead. To make things worse, there will be some hard decisions to be made with NE Man at Arms as well :))))

Thanks again for stopping in to check out the review! The best option for a proper proportional Trap-jaw figure is the classics, which is a lot of money now on Ebay. This New Eternia Trap-jaw has some unique features that look kind of like the Classics, Revalations, Vintage designs, and the 200x Trap-jaw figure with the large Mechanical arm. So I get why they went with that look instead of the same old thing.

He looks awesome. I think he'll replace my Revelations Trap-Jaw. Does he stand up upright straight. Looks like he's always hunched over and knee bent.

Yeah he came out really cool! Much better than the early teases images and first release Revelation Trap-jaw design. Yes he can stand pretty much straight up. He is a little hunched because of the weight and how I posed him. But the knees can bend totally straight in my figures. And don't forget, this figure gets drop-down hips!

limb/head proportions still bit off to me, but imo u can't further screw up TJ's face/mouth more than that 1st release lol.. worth to track down/check out at least ... retail possibilities, ever?? (next yr?)

He reminds me of a mix of Filmation, Classics, and the 200x Trap-jaw with Masterverse asthetics. Big Bad Toy store has these for Preorder shipping sometimes Next month or December I believe.

Can you put the New Eternia trap jaw mechanical arm (the entire arm) on origin body?

No, I don't so! I tried to remove it during the review! But it didn't want to come out and look like a different peg. With modifications, it might be possible. But I thought mine was gonna break pulling it. So I stopped.

Me: I don’t need this because I have the Revelation one and they are the same Also Me: Dang it….why is being wrong so expensive!?

Yeah, he does have a mummy or Reminisent Frankenstein look with the face, arm, and Jaw, but yet looks like a modern-day Classics trap-jaw updated design. I think this is as good as it gets for this figure. Classics will always be great because of that modern Vintage inspired design. But im happy with this Masterverse Version. @@Themanchlid Looking at this strange Release/Coming Soon Poster that a friend send me from Face....Meta.! God! Looks like a complete Reboot with "the Origins" which are Filmation now with a new BODY! This are no Origins.... 3x Origins (Grasp, Terroar, Neco-Conda) and a 1x Stranger Things - Double Pack....Walmart maybe Smyth exclusives?? I dont "need" any of this.... I have hopes (but low) that the Re-Release figures (Merman, SheRa) will come international. I feel trapped and captured by Mattel Creation Store to only import the important figures, when they come and WHEN i have the luck to get one... Mixed feelings about this, because every figure you need is OUT on Masterverse but not as Origins. It is a bull*sh*ting around...

@iliasfog8857 They are just exclusives and newer announced figures. The filmation line has different bodies that separate them a bit from the typical Origins, but yet they can mix well. Mattel already said they are gonna finish the Vintage inspired figures. They teased some this year. They will be sold at Mattel Creations next year. I'm not sure if it will be a month by month thing or what figures come out first.

@@Themanchlid With the new card artwork and new body the are simular "Origins" like the Wrestling Line before... They mix also well, BUT are no Origins! (Marketing Definition vs. Collector Definition) I am not in the mood and in the financial situation (Waky Waky 2024, will not be the only one) to start the figures NEW. I know about Syklone, Rokon and Extendar... but thats to less..... 2028 Two Bad? Gwildor 2029? Saurod 2030? and Blast-Attack is exploded (will not come)? I could scream (like Heels vs Babyface did to Disney Star Wars)....to Mattel! This is depressive! This is a cyrcling around figures (in different variations) without progression!

the package sucks, mostly it is not gonna do well on the shelf. more room for messed up boxes. i open one and try and keep one.

Hey did you know that from the clamp camp wave to this new wave they all have drop-down hips

I never noticed anything that was different in the hips. The articulation is better in these figures because of the cuts. I'm guessing that's the drop down

Hey if you pull the down you'll see it coming down and then you push it back up and it goes back to the original

If you pull the hips and legs straight down they come down in the hips and then if you push them back up they go back up to the original position it's pretty cool it's kind of like the g.i. Joe classified series

@kennypotter8620 I never heard or noticed that with these figures. I just go over the typical articulation, which most people use. Thanks for that info. I do remember hearing a change with something in the hips with the Gi Joe Classifieds. But I don't collect those. So I wouldn't know.

The Revalation figure is designed from the Revalation cartoon. The New Eternia Trap-jaw is a similar design like most versions of Trap-jaw we have seen from the Filmation, Vintage, 200x, Classics, and so on. But New Eternia takes popular core characters like Trap-jaw, for example, and adds a new story and concepts design to that figure now. It's kind of like saying, "What if Trap-jaw looked like this or that from other concepts.

@clintsaines9274 No, always unless they are in stock. Check the shipping dates. I think BBTS is better when they get the figures in. But if you can get free shipping on Amazon. Then give it a shot. You can always cancel the Preorders there as well.

This Figure makes the Revelation fig look like a McDonald’s pack in toy. 🤣 I have the Classics and I have this one .. this is better IMO.. I hated the l baby blue accents on the classics fig. 🤷‍♂️😀
