All these years and FINALLY found the project that would pop my Kickstarter cherry. I don't pre-order ANYTHING - not video games, not movie tickets, NOTHING. But for Masters of the Universe? ALL-IN. Easiest $220 I've ever spent.

Did you grow up with it or something? I'm 35, so maybe I'm the wrong age group for this, but I don't know He-Man characters and nothing is grabbing me here. Marvel United X-Men, on the other hand...

@@JM32JM32 at 35 you kind of just missed the MOTU boat, unless you had older siblings. That being said, you should recognize most of the core characters.

I'm 36 who collects some MOTU classics figures and plans to pledge this KS....but I just bought Castle Grayskull classics and origins in past July....So I'm broken now....LoL.

@@astray401 if you pledge anything, even a dollar, you’ll get access to the pledge manager, which gives you roughly 2-3 months to up your pledge for rewards. The base game at $110 has 66% of the available characters. The only exclusive expansions are the Grayskull model and the snake men, so you can get the horde and She-Ra later on their online store. Just a thought.

Thanks, great video! I'm all-in on this. Been all-in usually on KS games I like, and also on most of CMON's campaigns I've been on. CMON is really great at giving TONS of content for the price -- especially with all their SGs they unlock during campaigns. With CMON, and depending on the game they come out with, I find people back or not at all -- and if backing, it is definitely worth it for all in, and resale value.

Have already too much plastic coming in the next year, but I couldn't resist, will probably end up all in. Loved Heman as a kid, remember having nightmares because of Castle Greyskull ;)

Hope you're doing alright over there! was a little concerned when I didn't have a 10am video to watch. As for this game, I want to want it but it's just not pulling me in. But it's likely for the best, gotta save those dollars for when they hopefully bring CDMD with season 3 and I can finally get alll the things lol

Does the disclaimer at the bottom of the ks page mean the game won't go to retail as well?

You should do a video with your son near the end of the campaign, showing all the stuff you can get, and see if he wants it. :) This is the most toy-like CMON game yet, which makes sense, since it's based on a toy-line.

I keep reading that this game has a fully cooperative mode, but I can't find any information. Does anyone know anything about it?

Sorry to bother you with this Alex but was wondering if you were only going to back 1 (trying to work on the self control :P) MoU or Tanares RPG (RPG and Minis). I am similar to you not gotten into the RPG world as much as I would have liked so very intrigued by the DMless option. But I feel like there are more ways to play with MoU not just the game but like you mentioned as toys and could probably use them as minis if I ever did get into RPGs more. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you for all the content!

I backed the all in with the $220 now I’m sad to hear I have to come up with more money for everything but I’ll find a way I want this game

The plastic boards are *not* Kickstarter exclusives btw. If you look at the stretch goals, it clearly leaves out that KSE tag for those.

CMON is well known for making things not exclussive and then never producing them for retail, even in campaigns more sucessful than this. If you want it, get it because you likely will not be able to later.

I love the components and the esthetic of the game, The 3D castle and She-ra expansion are must-haves, the 3D terrain is kinda needed too if you don't want to play on a bland chessboard, I really want to love the whole thing, but I feel it is the kind of game I am going to force my group of friends to play and after 3 games they will be over it and I will regret having spent 300-400$.

That's an absolutely fair assessment... Which is why for most people I would recommend the base pledge.

if you think you're going to get $250 of play time out of the castle pledge. I don't think you will ever in your life time. If you think you're going to get more than $250 worth of limited edition heman toys, you're very correct.

Oh, I’ll absolutely get $250 of play time out of the castle pledge. I already have a curio cabinet set up to display these minis as they get painted, and I’m pulling them out every time company comes over.

I gotta say that I do like the board. I love the Greyskull castle! But damn, the price does put me off a little bit... Nostalgia hits hard though. I might get it.

I can’t fix your European shipping issue, but as it stands the game already has well over 60 minis and a massive castle Grayskull which is an insanely good value for the price. If you skip Grayskull itself you cut that price in half which is a phenomenal price. The She-Ra expansion and assault on Grayskull expansion are only $50 each and can be bought later and you only miss out on a single NPC mini doing that. You get a playable game thrown in for free.

Got the base pledge. Not a fan of masters of the universe but the game Intrigues me

I get why people don't like the board, but I also get why it looks like it does. If you look at the original cartoon a lot of the ground looks like a wasteland. Especially when they are traveling between locations. So the brownish tan is a pretty good representation of that.

This game and the new Netflix show (and prequel comic) make me wish I was a MotU fan. Was slightly before my time (my 80s cartoons were the LATE 80s - TMNT, GI Joe, etc). I could always force myself to be a MotU fan... *thinks*

And I found out one of my buddies is a big MotU fan and we've been talking about the franchise. I definitely never realized how much I like the aesthetic of it all. I'm pretty sure I'll back this lol.

The castle seems kinda overpriced imo, but the rest looks good. Also does the disclaimer at the bottom of the KS page mean it won't go to retail?

I’m big same on Grayskull and the tower defense scenarios. I’m not a painter, though. Maybe If the castle was green plastic.

Hi Alex, you are absolutely right that CMON is not to blame for not being able to sell the game worldwide. The same applies vice versa for Archon. Mattel is to blame for this mess. There is a very large fan base of the Masters of the Universe. It is understandable that there is displeasure when you make such stupid decisions. No game would have suffered from the competition. rather, the yield would have been even higher for both.

Eh I agree that 110$ are safe but for EU possible 2 shipping will be cost maybe 220$ total... better to wait that reach the retail for EU guys and then buy from it paying one shipping

Hey Alex. We have different tastes in board games (mine more align with Quackalope), but I can pretty much only watch your videos. You do awesome stuff and your breakdowns are perfect (especially the timestamps). Appreciate your hard work.

If they are putting out extra stuff later that would be really irritating. Don't nickel and dime me. I thought $220.00 was the all in price. They better not put anything that you have to pay for as a stretch goal.

Another voice saying take it easy Alex. Given the lack of flu transmission over the last 1-2 years, it's easy to get laid low by colds/flu after that break. Rest is good.

To be honest, the Archon one looks like a generally more exciting game in my opinion. But then admittedly I tend to prefer grand strategy type stuff over skirmish which I find tedious.

CMON may have more characters, but the UK version seems to have better gameplay at the moment. Definitely a trade-off.

@@BoxOfFear guess it depends on what type of games you enjoy, I was very disappointed and unimpressed personally with the Archon game. This CMON game doesn’t look as good as I would have hoped but i would have backed this one as it still looks more interesting to me.

God, I still have Mossman and Buzz something still at my parents place. I am so happy I see them here. Still remeber the cassett with mossman......a little :-) I have Rise of Moloch and this is enough for me. Still love your back or not to back! Great Topic

Saved some money here...not interested in the skirmish concept....doesn't seem like a huge campaign so far...

I'm still very salty the other version did not ship tot all european countries. So i couldn't get any of yhe games. Oh Well at least a win die my wallet.

I think the board looks good. But boring in comparison to the colorful European board
