Masters Of Reality & The Blue Garden: A Conversation With Chris Goss

Masters Of Reality: Deluxe Edition
Available on 2xLP or 2xCD from Delicious Vinyl - bit.ly/MORdvCDorLP
On Saturday, December 15th, 2012, Masters Of Reality frontman Chris Goss and album cover artist/drummer John Leamy will perform live and sign copies of the limited edition re-release of Master Of Reality's classic debut and live albums. The event will be held at the new Delicious Vinyl Record Shop on Sunset Boulevard. And at 10pm that night, Goss and co. will perform an intimate live set at The 3 Clubs in Hollywood.
These performances celebrate Delicious Vinyl's release of a Master Of Reality double-disc pack combining their 1988 debut album Masters Of Reality with 1997's How High The Moon: Live At The Viper Room. The reissue combo comes with a fold-out poster and new liner notes, and is also available on premium-grade double-LP vinyl HERE.
Originally signed by Rick Rubin to Def Jam, Masters Of Reality are a totemic heavy rock band whose blues-wise weight positioned them as heirs to Cream and Led Zeppelin. MOR's 1988 debut album, deemed "an all-out attack on diminished senses" by UK publication NME, has long been regarded as a high point in the mystical rock continuum.
Masters Of Reality's formidable frontman Chris Goss is the godfather of the California desert rock scene, having produced multiple albums by Kyuss and Queens Of The Stone Age. Album cover artist John Leamy (whose classic painting inspired the album's colloquial title, 'The Blue Garden') currently mans the drum throne of Masters Of Reality. Come out to meet these livin', lovin' legends.

I just found a copy( online for $29.99!). Waiting for it to arrive and hear the quality because I have no idea if it's official or not. Hope you have one for yourself by now.
Hey Chris, i am now looking at my own original cd copy of Masters of Reality debut i bought back in 1989, in chicago, for $ 13.99 (price sticker still on). i was 36 then and saving every dollar earned to send back to my eastern european homebase. This albumis still my favourite 27 years on, even though my daughter has long since steered me towards classical music. rock on.
Love Goss!! Great interview
Desert rock star
I would love to ask the artist who painted the picture, where is that light source coming from? But it's cool to not know in a way. This album is one of the greatest rock albums of all time. Sunrise is brilliant , too.
Probably the only Masters of Reality album you need to own if you're into high quality hard rock. Though make sure you get the one with Doraldina's Prophecies too, probably the best song they've ever recorded along with Kill The King. Apparently it took a few years to make and there was a lot of infighting going on in the band trying to get it finished. Pretty sure one of the main members split right after and they've never reached that level of excellence consistently again on a full album. Well that was the original story way back in the day, haven't watched this video yet.
Good stuff! Very melodic rock, great beats for drummers.
Blue garden album cover is an Opium dream
awesome sauce
YES!!! WHAT A RUSH!!! :D
Just like wolfsbane's Kathy Wilson's cover was great too
