Masterpiece Skype Interview with Shaun Evans. July 2014.
Interesting coincidence that he has a moustache in this interview and was recently photographed with a moustache during filming of the sixth series.
This interview was done after the second series was shown in the USA. The interviewer mentions the episode when Fred's family are watching England play in the 1966 World Cup. That episode is series two, episode 2, Nocturne.

I love the way he expresses himself and explains things. Makes me feel cozy. Ok that sounded weird, but what I mean is... I'm sure it would be nice to talk to him, human to human, in real life. . :)

It's actually a Liverpool accent, not Irish.

He’s said his accent is a mixture of Irish and Liverpool dialect.

It's a standard Liverpool accent, the accent is a culmination of Irish, Welsh and Scandavian /German thrown in (proper melting pot!) mixed with the local Lancastrian accent found in the rest of the NW of England

God he is so beautiful.
Almost want to see him dressed up in garb of the era of William of Orange. That would be fun. He's awesome in Endeavour. Watch Inspector Morse fist and Endeavour drops harder. Shaun is also fun in Teachers and Silk.

Just started watching season 7. Too bad it’s shorter but I heard the reasons so I accept it. Nothing after season 8 because of the timeline, that hurts more. Maybe he could grow into the older Morse in a few years. For a new generation everything is new.... He mentions Miss July, is that Strindberg’s story ? Does he play the butler ? Just saw Being Julia, it’s about 15 years ago. He was terrific as the young social climbing American lover. So much better without the mustache ..... wonderful that he is turning into a director but don’t give up on acting you can be a leading man for another 20 years.

Colin Dexter stated before his death and within his will that no one is allowed to play the older Morse. So, there is no chance of Shaun getting that oppurtunity.
What terrible audio. Maybe they got it straightened out later, but I couldn't stand the sound.
Should do one with Lewis and Laurence fox and invite all fans
