How often do you do this or should I do this when i start to have issues?All i have shot is polymers in competition. Haven't had any experience with 1911/2011s.Are 1911s temperamental or something? I have seen guys running 1911s to where they would get jams.

I was looking pretty hard at this gun for idpa also.Lot of money for messing with extractors who knows when?If you guys want to cover any time or labor it takes i probably would get one because it would be aggravating to start having issues at 10 000 rounds or so.I'm no gunsmith and shouldn't have to be for over 3 grand!.

How to often do you adjust the extractor? Approx rounds?

There is no time period. Generally, you learn the functions of the particular gun you are using and you will see changes in performance, failure to eject return to battery, etc. The changes in your gun will be subtle at first. You should not have to worry about this under 30,000 rounds. Although 2011s are high-tolerance guns and can come out of spec over time. Most extractors, if high quality, can last and be in tune forever. I bought a Springfield and had issues, I changed the extractor, and no problem. The prodigy had issues and changing the extractor helped. Also, removing MIM parts.

How often does this need to be done?

I want one of these guns but i don't know now.Don't have that many issues with my polymers.I mean for the money this shouldn't have to be done.Maybe at 40 to 50,000 rounds for the price of the gun.
