The only criticism they had against machine intelligence like Master Mold is that it would make humans lazy and limit humanity's potential, causing fanatics to rise against it, or have the AI eventually go out of human control which ruins the whole purpose of AI. This eventually caused people in the book to ban computers entirely.

When I worked on My own take of Days of future past I always had in mind for stryker who would of died by Magneto hands in Genoshabut his consciousness would survived due to using the master mold core and when friends of Humanity pay Trask to build a new mastermold called Prime sentinel his consciousness would go into it and become Prime sentinel and would even head to a secret military base to upload his files on the computer to take over their stuff leaving the x-men and a wolverine from the future to stop it from happing

It's ashame that he wasn't in the X-Men movies

Why do people who create giant robots always give them such vague, open-to-interpretation directives? 'Protect the human race' can go a LOT of different ways. You have to give them PRECISE instructions, and you need to maintain absolute control. (Or better yet, just don't do it at all.)

1:36 I still remember this mic drop moment from when I was a kid.

Really good voice over for Master Mold in the ressurection/future episodes. Faster speaking and sets the tone much better for this type of scenerio

They just gave him a foreign accent (in this case, British)like every 90% of cartoon villains because heaven forbid the thought of children hearing normal American English coming from a villain. I actually think this version of Master Mold is better if not for the reason that it is realistic alone, but also that this is more in tune with a robot that has no actual emotional feelings towards its actions. All it knows is what it was programmed to do. Even the idea that the all powerful, unchallenged version of Master Mold would have secret conversations with Nimrod because it felt the need to deceive Fitzroy took away from what makes Master Mold scary.

All the sound effects on the original series were top notch

"I will bring order and peace to the world." That would be every man's dream come true.

Divine Mew have you ever actually spoken to an atheist? Because none of them are like that. Without the Bible, humans would be fine. We get our moral and our sense of right and wrong from society, there’s only a tiny bit of overlap with what society deem right and what the Bible seems right. If we got our sense of morality from the Bible, we would still have slaves, still treat women as property, kill anybody who wouldn’t convert, need I go on? All those thing you listed except for theft, are AIDED by religion because people will use what they believe is the word of god as justification for their heinous acts. The world need LESS institutional religion not more. Humans are not “naturally evil” we are naturally self-centered because that’s what it takes to survive, that doesn’t make humans evil. And guess what, we learn to be unselfish by working with others because that is the logical route. God may have created us, but his so called word has done nothing but hold us back.

in some ways Mastermold was the scariest villain because when he fully upgraded himself he was capable of creating a Sentinel that could defeat any mutant probably even ones like Magneto or Apocalypse

Honestly didn’t like that they used him that way. It undercuts this scene, which was one of my favorites growing up, like it never happened. Doesn’t ruin the show but I was annoyed by it. I reserve the right I recant if that Trask was a LMD or something.

" That is not logical. Mutants ARE humans. Therefore, humans must be protected from themselves. " Ironically, his Great - Grandson Bastion would echo this exact statement with Operation: Zero Tolerance. And like Master Mold, take it to the evilest extreme.

Wish the reboot would explored Ultron weaponizing the Sentinels, Master Mold and Nimrod to enslave both Avengers and X-Men. Bastion would have also impressed.

Mastermold: "I do not destroy, because I do not fear" Also Mastermold: "OBLITERATE THEM! Destroy them Fitzroy, plz!"

Trask did so well that Ai that it alone manage to come to the conclusion that mutants are humans too which is something Trask can't understand

Master Mold and Brainiac are evil AI.

I was kind of disappointed that Master Mold didn't make it into Days of Future Past.

3:46 What I always liked about One Man’s Worth was the very real sense of threat. The shift in part one to the hell-world was unexpected and disorienting. Then they actually fail to stop the assassination, and when they are pulled back to this future in part two, the hordes of upgraded sentinels are really imposing. Everything has gone to hell several time already, and when Master Mold orders everyone dead here for one of the few times in the series you actually feel like more characters are going to die (and they do!). As a kid, this was tense stuff 😄

Actually Morph destroyed Mastermold's head, destroying him once and for all, and ending the Sentinels once and for all. You frogot to put that in there.

Looks like he wasn't built with any form of wireless connection - so audio messages were the only way to comunicate with the other robots.

Lol, that was funny. The two mutants were well within earshot because Mastermold started talking loudly as soon as the doors closed. You’d think he would have relayed the message via Bluetooth or something.

Anyone know what the green sentinels were called? They seemed to be stronger and more durable than the standard variety. I haven't seen anything written about them, so it would be cool to wiki if anyone has a name of them.

@@lloydlandrum3040 They are also built differently. Notice the football like shoulder gear and bubble build in their abdominal section. It almost appears that they are designed for the highest impact missions that would necessitate those adaptations. What do you think?

I imagine in a different realm, there is a variant of MasterMold, who is a protector, instead of being a robotic dictator, and instead of being a conqurer To add I imagine Protector-MasterMold, he is capable of developing emotions, and I imagine he is the perfect eponent against ULTRON. In addition I imagine Protector-MasterMold, has no hated towards all humans, and he has no hated towards all mutants neither. Plus to add I imagine he has no problems, towards most of the known types of alien beings. The only types of aliens, he has issues with, are the conquerors, the destroyers, the wicked minded manipulators, and the evil minded killers.

Yeah, I mean you think of the logical conclusion that Master Mold reached through its AI programming, every human is capable of giving birth to a mutant, THEREFORE in order to PREVENT the rise of and defeat ALL MUTANTS, you'd need to THEREFORE target and hunt down all the HUMANS! (Let's give a slow clap for Dr Trask and his "brilliant" plan ... Bastard lol)
