Mastermind Groups: Why It Takes A Village To Raise An Adult | Jullien Gordon | TEDxWilmingtonSalon

Every success story in the world involves other people, but there are success quotes like "Pick yourself up by your own bootstraps," that teach us to be independent and fight life alone. The mission of Jullien Gordon and www.masterminds.org is to create a world where everyone has a team by launching 100,000+ mastermind groups globally. Jullien’s mission is to create a world where everyone has a team by bringing the Napoleon Hill’s concept of mastermind
groups to the masses. As CEO of Masterminds.org, he helps business and life coaches, consultants, speakers, and authors
escape the 1-on-1 and 1-and-done business models by launching their own 5-to-6 figure mastermind groups so they can
touch more lives and have abundance without the burn out.
He believes that coaches have the power to change the world by creating and holding space for leaders of all kinds to be
their best. He credits Alcoholics Anonymous and Weight Watchers for demonstrating the power of coaching, community, and
collective accountability and seeks to a create communities around people’s dreams and goals. Learn more at

I feel most of my anxiety is actually due to social isolation and not having a village around me.

The mastermind concept reminds me of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and how Edward and Alphonse couldn't have gotten their bodies back without the help of everyone around them.

I was about to leave a supportive comment and, an exchange-question (as I've been heavily researching this, to adopt into my own successful growth-journeying), but something's obvious.... Since I see no responses here, to other ppl's comments (thoughtfully left, btw), well, it'd seem probably a waste to bother. To everyone here who's seeking these impacts too, I tuely hope you get there!

I don't really have friends. I'm kind of...."afraid" of people, especially in this era of cancel culture. I feel like I can't trust anyone and be the real me, be authentic with anyone I know. Especially people from work. Those are the people I think I trust the least, honestly. And....I don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I have no goal. And I don't know how to find one. I'm 50 years old and I just don't know where to start. PLUS...I have bills to pay. My parents are dead; I can't live at home with no financial obligations while I'm trying to figure out what to do with my life. I have no idea what to do.

Consider hiring a therapist. It's a little less nerve wrecking to talk to someone who is trained and isn't necessarily a friend or part of your everyday circle.

I honestly don't know who came up with this idiotic concept of it takes a village to raise a child it does not take a village to raise a child it takes two people the mother and the father it takes a village to build a community The Village has no say so what goes on in your own household

No, he didn't actually. He said, it has been modelled (paraphrasing) by others, but originated from Napoleon Hill's work ("Think And Grow Rich"). This concept does actually go back to biblical writtings (Proverbs, among other 📚 w/in the bible).
