you can but it's inconsistent while in miles they made into an actual feature even to turn angles so it happens way more consistently (but sometimes it does mess up still)

@@danieleanzaldi You can dodge to carry momentum in the OG version for sure. Like web swinging but for web zipping or web striking onto enemies dodging will kill your momentum 100% of the time

the cinematic cameras really makes you appreciate insomniacs spidermans capabilities even more since the perspective is different, you get a better idea of how high he can jump , how fast he’s going and how acrobatic he really is than what you might originally perceive with just a 3rd person camera. this character just seems way more badass overall and it’s something i’d been wanting to see since the original ps4 port

Absolutely. In some cases he disappears from the screen so fast and I lose track of him. Much of it wasn’t appropriate for KZread because you’d be looking for a tiny spec lol. I’d constantly underestimate the height he’d jump and reposition the camera many many times. Biggest challenge is controlling him though, the orientation is not relative to the camera. It’s a mind f**k that’s for sure.

Great editing and very informative. Props to you for really doing your best to make this system seem deeper than it is. Here’s hoping SM2 being developed for the PS5 means these tricks will actually carry through to your swing speed instead of actually slowing you down.

You definitely have to be creative but if you’re going for cinematic swinging they are useful. Agreed about the momentum in the sequel. You can get mods for this one though that realllly give you tons of momentum.

Previous to watching I was cancelling point lauches mid air, point lauching after dodging backwards, quick turns and dodging while wall running to get to lower buildings Have you tried dodging at the last moment when running up a wall instead of pressing X to basically juste jump up and then point launching? It’s even better with miles’s venom dash

Initially I thought I was dodging up to pop over building edge the way you’re saying but I later realised it was just holding run to pop up so I didn’t even need to time circle. Unless you mean something different?

the general rule of thumb is, a desktop will always be more powerful than a laptop so if you had a desktop 3070 it would run this game no sweat

I have everything at max, but the graphics you're referring to probably come from the skyboxes. Linkfla on nexus has some awesome ones that crank up vibrance and contrast.

True, I also think the mods make just as much difference as the specs. A desktop can look far worse too if you have a potato.

adapting these tips for Miles Morales has been really interesting. You could probably do a whole other couple videos on that game too

Amazing vid just wanted to comment that another way I found to do this trick at 6:03 is to cancel a point launch with dodging forward then holding r2 hopefully I explained it well enough but I promise it works. Again amazing vid 👍

You can exchange the diving with the ground strike, pretty sure it’s faster, but I know for sure it looks cooler

For sure. You can also use the negative shockwave special in the air for a similar effect plus an initial blue glow. You can't cancel out of it so make sure you're high enough. Same thing with the Hobie dive (guitar special)

@@deepkick9 That's cool. Will look that up for sure. My biggest issue with the comparison to Arkham is that people say Spider-Man stole the free form combat, but Spider-Man 2 back in the day actually had it first. That game had the swinging and the combat down!

That’s true. I guess Arkham just popularized and cemented the formula but like you said it wasn’t the first. We get two great franchises with some similarities but that’s not a bad thing.

@@deepkick9 They definitely perfected and popularized it for sure. I love both series, though I do give Spider-Man the edge on terms of immersion and storytelling. Arkham is a Batman power fantasy. You are playing Batman with prep time lol. Spider-Man is the full experience of both Peter and Spider-Man. But both did amazing jobs creating their own versions of the worlds.

@@deepkick9 Yeah, what I mean is, usually when you web zip to a streetlight and jump off, you'll spin around once, SM will then perch on top of the post for a quick second and jump off from there. Is there a way to consistently just let go of the streetlight mid swing around like in that clip or is it a contextual thing? Sorry if that wasn't very well explained man.

Oh I see, I have seen that too. I’m actually not 100%. In the video I webbed from the ground so maybe that trigger the gymnastic animation instead of the hopping one? Or maybe it’s the type of traffic light? It could just be a random cycling of animations too. If you want to go up hold back on the joystick as shown in vertical point launch in part 1.

@@deepkick9 yeah I watched your first vid as well man, great stuff. Have been using a lot of the techniques since. I was never a big fan of the jumping from the streetlight animation and always preferred just letting go in one smooth motion, it was something you had full control of in some of the earlier SM games so was curious about it was all, hopefully will see it return for SM 2!

amazing vid as always!! ur sick 🌻 I've posted a lot of vids with these and more tips in action so anyone pls feel free to check those out heres some more tips! keep the camera parallel horizontally with spiderman so you get a side on angle as he swings if you do this at sunset/night along the huge main road while the camera faces the sun/moon, you get a really cool effect where you see the silhouette of spidey side on against the sun/moon and it looks cinematic af you can also have it so spidey flies over the camera if you position it so ur facing spidey dead on, and then have him run up a building if done correctly Spidey will fly over the camera and it looks sick landing on moving cars is always fun! also just in general not swinging all the time and using parkour instead nets some rly cool traversal ive been trying to do webless movement and its rly fun and challenging chaining parkour animations with bouncing off of cars and swinging on lamposts and point launching off of small things is rly stylish if i think of any more ill post here! congrats again on the vid! 🌻🌻

Press circle to drop off, then to do the back flip press circle+backwards. So all up its (circle) then (circle + backwards). Does that make sense?

Square + X while in the air. You have to have ‘ground strike’ unlocked first though. You can swing out of it before hitting the ground.

Nope :) You can webzip to traffic lights and it'll do this. Be sure to aim for the pole and night the light itself. Hold back on the joystick and press X if you want to go up instead of forward.

The part where he runs up the wall and backflips off? As you're running up press circle and he'll start to drop off the wall. When this happens immediately do a 180 turn as shown in part 1. The 180 turn is just a back dodge followed by a webzip while still holding back on the joystick. If you do all of this in quick succession it looks like he backflips off the wall. I hope that makes sense.
