I'm mad that it took me owning a pistol for 2 years to learn about trigger prep/reset! I tried it for the 1st time at the range 2 weeks ago and my accuracy went from "meh, hit or miss" to landing the whole 15 round magazine somewhere on the target (probably 15 inch groups). I went again last weekend and my groups were the same size except i was shooting 5 shot high speed bursts. I am so happy with my improvements!

Evaristo Rodriguez yeah I'll be honest Ive had my G19 for a couple months now and it seems like every time I go to the range I'm either decent, slammin steel or I can't even hit the paper target. It's really weird. I guess I just keep developing bad habits and shit

@@cd4playa1245 Even when you get good you'll occasionally have an off day,it happens. If ya can't train thought it that day,pack up & leave the range you're wasting ammo & frustrating yourself. For the longest time I used to shoot @ 10"paperplates. One reason was money the other practicality. If anyone thinks that's funny,put a 10" paperplate on your chest,then you'll get it.

james riggs yeah I rip out magazine pages and shoot those, and then draw black circles with a sharpie over the hits. Why ever pay for another target ever?

i know this video is old, but it's still gold in 2023. Great teaching.

After watching this video last night I decided to take my G23 out to the range today. Instantly noticed an improvement in my grouping. While I know that most of this information is covering basic pistol shooting principles I've never taken the time to actually focus on my trigger control. Makes a world of difference once you do. Awesome video! I think this will definitely help my shooting. I'm new to glocks and was getting very discouraged with the trigger system but this explains it like no one ever has.

I may be wrong but I believe in this day and age too many people are carrying a gun that do not practice enough.

CZ 1always I definitely agree. I’m from Missouri so you need no permit and no training to conceal carry. If the gun is legally yours you can carry it loaded. I go to the range and shoot a couple hundred rounds about once or twice a month.

Excellent video. I'm relatively new to recreational shooting and I've been having a tough time with "slapping" the trigger. A range officer explained the problem behind my low left groups, but his trigger control advice only focused on the smooth pull to the rear. I never gave much thought to reset management until you mentioned it. Thank you.

today I used this exact trigger technique you are speaking of, while at the range. and what a difference! night and day difference. more accuracy, more relaxed grip, more shots in a tighter pattern. everything. holding the trigger back instead of letting it go after each shot, brilliant technique. works wonders. thanks a bunch for posting!!

Well, using the method with the trigger reset is great if you are in a Tactical situation or if you have a Hi Capacity Magazine but in a critical self defense point and shoot which takes no more than two or three shots at about 7 or 8 feet, you will empty your six round mag in seconds, then what?

I could watch your videos all day...this exercise helped me save seconds on my timed competition shooting drills at GSSF...

outstanding! Not new to shooting but new to the glock/springfeld trigger holding and listing for the reset.

Recognized the color scheme of the license plate in the background. I'm glad there are more training schools in NH than just Sig Academy.

I just found this video. I could not figure out why I was not getting accurate groupings and now I know why. I do let the trigger come all the way pack up before a press it again and my bullets are hitting the target, but now where I want it to go. This video explained it all! Excellent!

A Very Good video on the "Trigger Control". I've carried a Glock 22 in .40 cal for over 20 years now as a service pistol here my local Police department. I would not trade it for any other Glock model. I love the trigger it has and it is stock (we can't change anything in them). This guy is telling it like it is, I must say. Just Practice, Practice, Practice is all it takes.

Very informative. I like the fact that u are showing the audience technique vs. showing off how good a shot u are. U are very good as well. I have to qual for my depts. and thought id seek more tips. Thanks sir.

Many thanks for watching and commenting. The keys for accuracy are having a steady press on the trigger while keeping your sights aligned. Try practice can really help as well as mastering the concept of trigger reset. As an instructor, usually what I see is people slapping the trigger or trying to rush through the trigger pole when they are trying to make accurate shots. Rather it’s a smooth and steady press all the way through the trigger until the series engaged that makes the difference. Assuming once sites are aligned on the target during a smooth trigger press the impact of the bullet should be pretty darn close to what you were aiming at. Once again thanks for watching. Thank you sir. I'm a relative newbie to shooting. My first gun is a Glock 19. I researched a little bit and just wanted an easy to use, easy to take care of, and a reliable gun. I know some people will argue for other platforms, but going for all those plus a decent price point, I don't think you can do a lot better for first timers. I know I'll be buying other guns in the future and will try others but I'm more than happy so far. That said, this topic has been my biggest hurdle. Im constantly low, and slightly left. Im a right handed shot. I always see videos on trigger pull as opposed to your point of just letting it reset and eliminating the slap of a full trigger reset...Anymore than 2 shots and I'm all over the place as I'm trying to re adjust my sight after a full trigger reset. The idea of just just letting off enough for the trigger to reset enough to fire again without letting off it all way is such a simple concept, I feel like an idiot for not realizing it before. Especially after seeing so many people complain about the length and lbs of a full pull. I can't wait to hit the range this week and work this into my practice. Thanks again. Great video!

Yes, you are correct with what you observed. This is the "shooting shed " at a gun club I was a member of. We rebuilt the rifle shooting shed and this one is on the plan for rebuilding. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Thank you for the information. I have just purchased my first block it's the G17 Gen4. I have not shot it yet I've been shooting my pt111 Taurus. I will use the method you have shown us. I usually go through one to two hundred rounds whenever I go to the range. I'm pretty much self taught. I lived in an unfriendly gun state now I'm in a new state but have no one to show me what I may be doing wrong. My shots pull to the left slightly but I'm in a small group. I tried using different parts of my trigger finger but I'm still off. I'm shooting at 25 feet.

Thanks a ton!! This has helped me improve my shooting tremendously. I am now hitting the target every time. Even up to 25 yards which I used to have a lot of trouble hitting. My Glock has a 12lb trigger pull so you can imagine how difficult it is to shoot.

I just bought a glock 19 gen 4 mos. Shot it for the 1st time today. Didn't know there was any issues until I happen to see this video. I thought the trigger was just fine. No issues for me!

I agree, I think it is just fine as is. I’ve owned and owned many clots some have their stock trigger in it. I think for most people it’s a matter of learning to take it vantage of the tactile reset an order to shoot faster and more accurately.
