If you are willing to spend some money, the website competition university has some. My students have access to it this year. It's worth it to get to the stage this year!!

Hi Bowtie GOAT! Im currently preparing for icdc and I seem to be getting between the 85-88 range for the cluster exam. I was curious what scores you would need on the roleplays + the exam to make it past the preliminary round (like a ballpark) and also do you have any tips on studying the performance indicators? Should I try and go over all of them, how should I focus my energy on that

It's tough to say what score you need on both components to advance. You should be able to get a 85+ on an ICDC level exam for a degree of confidence on being a finalist. Good luck!

That's tough to say as role play judging is very subjective. I never give a score over 90, but many always score above 90.

Hi bowtie GOAT! Thank you so much for the video! I am competing in Ontario provincials for PFL. I scored 4th in my district (83 on written and 92 on role-play). I heard PFl is really competitive. The 100-question cluster exam is broken down into questions by instructional area. The exam blueprint tells you how many questions from each instructional area will be part of the district/regional test, the state/provincial test, and the ICDC test.

Hi Bowtie GOAT! I'm currently preparing for SCDC which is in two weeks in Texas. Do you have any additional tips for the cluster exam and roleplays so I can really have a chance at ICDC? Is the cluster exam really a matter of just practicing and practicing? Additionally, do you have any tips on how to really ace my roleplays? I always have trouble coming up with the proper ways to phrase my sentences and good solutions to the problems. Thank you!

Wow, Texas DECA is tough. I can tell you the advice in this video brought one of my students last year from a 77 at districts, to a 85 at states and a top test score of 94 at ICDC. He ended up 7th in the world. If you pay close attention to the codes (PIs) in the end of the test, track which PIs you struggle with, and study those... then your test and role play score will increase. It seems like everyone is doing this, but they don't. It takes consistent, dedicated effort (and a little luck). But, your test scores should definitely increase. Good luck!

They used to exist at shopdeca.org. Now it looks like you can only get them if your chapter has purchased DECA+ yearly.

I believe there is one ICDC and one SCDC for each exam every year. Yes, they change yearly. Oh, if you check out HLM, the recorded role play is from my student!!!
