Not lazy at all! 1. Time management. 2. They actually keep the grass healthier by trimming more regularly than cutting - you're only trimming a tad each day or 2, like shaving. Plus it trains the grass to spread rather than grow up, thus filling in bare patches and reducing weeds. I love my Moebot!

I certainly need the bare patches filling :D
Thank you for a brilliant video. I’ve just purchased the same one and it’s helped me a lot 👍

It’s truly a Rob-ot.
My Dad used to have a Flymo, back when they were basically a hovercraft as it didn't have wheels. An idea for your lawn, aerate it and top dress it with gypsum.

Brilliant product, got the Gardena Minimo which exactly the same as your model robotic lawnmower and it is such big help to keep your lawn maintained and short. Have never had such a beautiful lawn.

LOL i am doing this tomorrow well redoing i mean , John our Flymo mower cut his wires at the end of last season , had him for about 4 years now and apart from an easy update for him , there is a USB port underneath for that, and a fresh set of blades at the start of the mowing season he has been rock solid I have him in the front garden and originally had him cut the grass at 2AM every day , he is extremely quiet but that quickly changed to 2PM because of the weather (see below) as the neighbours love to watch him go about his cutting , A couple of tips i would say would be , the mower will one day cut the wire , it happens. Do Not buy their connectors to re-join the wire ( you don't have to replace the wire entirely ) just use a spade connector , much cheaper and does the same thing , the wire should be easy to find as it should be poking up, as the mower will stop as soon as it cuts it, So the wire cut will be under the mower If you manage to dig or cut through the wire (instead of the mower doing it ) when gardening and are not sure where the cut is , i read in a forum that if you use an AM radio and get it to the right frequency the radio will detect the pulses and you follow with the radio and when it stops pulsing that's where your break is Also keep an eye on the weather , he is supposed to not deploy when its raining but from my experience he goes out in all weathers , i think once in 3 or 4 years he didn't deploy when it was raining but lots of times i just popped on the app and sent him home
Good video. Its a great little mower , I've had one for over a year now and the grass is looking its best ever. I buried the guide and loop wire instead of using the pegs. Also had the no loop signal a number of times and found the fault to be the connections on the back of the charging station to be the fault. Also just added a flower planter to go over the charging base to protect and hide the mower .

Yea our grass mostly looks good. The wet weather we had a few weeks ago did mean the mower churned up the bare patches a little. Most of our wires are now unnoticeable. May need to look for a cover for winter

What problem did you have with the wires at the back.
A half-moon spade is great for a wire-width trench. And I'd suggest a touch under the 30cm (basically half the width of the mower plus a small bit) - the wire will be in the middle of the mower as it drives home to charge.
@CharlieandRob

Yea I do actually have one, but I couldnt be arsed to dig the trench! :D

When you say a touch under 30cm how do you mean? I’m about to install one of these in my garden and have a fence on 3 sides (it says 35cm to walls for the boundary wall?) I also have a flat edge that joins to some artificial grass. Confused how close i need to have the boundary wire to the flat edge grass/artificial grass, and all the fence panels? Any advice appreciated
@CharlieandRob
Жыл бұрын
@@RonaldMcMartin I would say 30 from fence and boundary wire. This is a decent mower so slight variations shouldn't be a problem.
Watching you peg this all, and I am thinking this is something I would put on Airtasker!
"And now it's just a case of pegging" 😂 OMG, I'm dying. Been debating just pulling the trigger because we also have a crap yard and I think regular cuttings would help. You should ask them for a sponser video showing an update 1 year later since using the robot mower with helpful tips, best practices, etc.

I had an electric lawnmower in 1987. But it had a really long power cord and no battery lol. It worked great though even though you had to avoid running over the cord and electrocuting yourself.
Haha , you’ve got lotsa daylight thete😊
A good lawn mower robot, it should be a good lawn mower for mowing delicate small yards.
We have got the same problem. But I managed not to undo it again by checking out the couplers for the guide wire .you just really need to push it through to connect to each other. ❤

Sir. Its a space that is needed for full size lawn mower to keep it. If you don't need to its just more space for other gadgets:)
I thought "programmable" meant that you program it once and it stores the information. It looks like you have to keep the pegs and wires in the lawn. Doesn't that create a trip hazard? Otherwise you have to bury them. Correct?
@CharlieandRob
Ай бұрын
the wires and pegs stay in, but they are very low and do not cause a trip hazard. After some time, they actually bury themselves. But you can also bury them but i wouldnt bother. After a month or 2 you cant even see the wires :)

17:36 Stopping the weeds from seeding is a big one. If the weeds cannot flower then they cannot seed a big part of mowing lawn. It is a mono cot di cot thing.
Make a walkway down to the chickens and then plough it up. Why fight lawn when you can grow vegetables? The chooks are making the fertiliser. Don't fight grass. Lawn was a way in the old days to see if enemies where coming. Also was a status symbol because you could afford to pay someone to cut grass. Chickens love a pile of grass clippings and all the bugs and grubs inside.

Oh yeah we used to have a saying , Ducks do the land chickens do the edges. Chickens are the whipper snippers. I don't know how many you can have but ducks or geese and trim the lawn. The next step is goats or sheep.

My property is too big for a robot mower, however I am looking into a robot vacuum cleaner, might wait until Xmas to buy one.

Can we have an update? How well did it last the year? Have you put it out again this year? I have an R1200 "Chopper" and find that it's generally not the cable that is at fault but it will be the connectors that corode over the winter and need replacing each year.

@@CharlieandRob Lucky the Winter didn't kill it. I always do the first cut with a regular mower, sometime the first few if the weather is very wet. The robots will churn up the grass if it gets too muddy. Setting up the ideal cutting schedule is an art and depends very much on the size of your lawn. Mine does it's work during our working hours so the grass is good for the weekends and evenings.
