    Lots of tips in this video, I never knew heating up the stubble made a difference. What do you do if the paint cracks, can you melt it together again?

  • @dentremover01

    @dentremover01

    Thanks Daniel! I’m not heating my stubble I’m warming up my double chin! Serious note the heat gun takes a few secs to warm do I gauge it with my Jowels Cracked paint is the death of the repair, once it cracks it stays cracked but by warning the panel, using select tips I can really minimise this issue. Ps. I have a parcel for you!

    That is amazing work fair play to you, probably the best I've ever seen, ive been painting for over 33 years and have used and seen a lot of PDR but nothing on this level, i try to do small bits on blend panels and dents I'm repairing for painting just to have a go really it does interest me but I'm not any good, i just have a small amount of cheap glue stuff and bars off amazon. Im not sure on what glues to use as i struggle getting tabs to stick could you tell me where and what glue i should use Great video 👍

  • @dentremover01

    Thank you for your great comment! And by the way I subbed to you last night! PDR is a great way to reduce your blend area if you can wiggle a ding out it will save time and products. Amazon glue kits are ok but you’re better off investing in proper GPR equipment. Speak to Keco Uk and ask for Sam, or Kevin and mention I sent you. You just need a Variety tab kit, some flex collision glue and their glue gun. And a slide hammer. 99% Isopropyl from Amazon and you have all the basics for a range of small to medium dents Look at the Keco 6c process to as that will help regulate your glue pull method

    It just takes practice. You don’t need all the gear, if you see what I use on most of my videos when glueing (not massive stuff) I use simple gear. Happy to let you pop down for a few hours if your local

    Hi Sean. Thanks for your message. Your best off choosing a nice screw tip knock down and then you can swap your tips. Top choice for Ali, I’d look at a root beer or peek tip and then just practice to see what works best. I wouldn’t go too sharp as Ali takes more effort imo to flatten down. But again with practice you’ll be able to dial in knockdown work Hope this helps

    Thanks for your comment. Our customer was sure the insurance would write it off. Both 1/4 panels would have been down for replace and the doors needed dents removing. Atleast half the car would be repainted so they would almost certainly write it off

    I am the owner of this BMW, and the insurance company wanted to write it off and offered me about 2k short of current market value. Every PDR specialist I contacted and showed the car to said they couldn't do it and it needed both rear quarters replacing. Martin was confident he could sort it and sure enough he did sort it, he also kept me informed the whole time messaging me daily with a progress update and photos. Martin is a lovely guy, very informative, and has a real passion for his trade.

    @@dentremover01 super tedious job. I’m sure when you try to calculate hours or pay for the job that you come under the estimate you would have after the job a good part of the time? You underestimate the jobs quite often probably..?

  • @dentremover01

    @dentremover01

    Ай бұрын

    @@michaelkitchen6000 that’s a great reply and interesting And yes I agree that maybe I can and do get my pricing wrong and il say that most days il undercut myself on jobs and prices BUT. And this is the thing, if I priced each job to give myself a good wage and be able to pay everything and make maximum profit I wouldn’t be in business now. There’s a fine line on what we (in the UK) can get away with charging because old Fred in his garage will happily fill and paint the side of a car for £50 and (most) people don’t see the true value in PDR People see us pop a dent out in 10 minutes and get angry when they have to pay £50 But will let their car go for 3 days and be ruined by Fred and his paint gun. It’s absolutely backwards! You’d think people would pay twice as much for a magic 110% repair without paint. In the USA it’s totally different as they have the carfax register so it’s within the customers interest to pay a PDR tech loads more money and insurance to get that magic repair and keep their car off the repair register. So unfortunately I have to price my jobs reasonably and fix a few to make a profitable business And just to add. It’s not all about making maximum money and profit, us PDR techs put a hell of a lot of work into building our skillset, we can literally walk into any major bodyshop and outskill the workforce who are there filling and painting vehicles. That’s no one’s fault and everyone has their skill, but the PDR techs are looked down on because they command decent prices and they should get it for their 20-30yrs of practice and learning to produce top quality work Hope that makes sense
