    The LED strip kit/battery from Fly High FPV looks pretty awesome for night flying. You can see examples on his channel and Ken Heron has a good video using this product on a Mini/alkaline battery (pretty bright) and crazy bright using a LIPO on a Phantom.

    I think one big difference between the Air 3 and the Avata 2 that change the image quality in low light is the aperture. The Air 3 is f1.7 and I find f2.8 for the Avata 2.

    You say that yet some of my favourite shots with the Air 3 is with the 70mm this F2.8. But yes a wider aperture always helps.

    I love flying at night. It's so much easier to detect local air traffic and cooler now that it has been reaching 100 degrees F during the day. I ordered an E-flite/Horizon Hobby Night Radian for some awesome night flying. I've only flown DJI drones so I hope I don't crash this 2 meter glider during its maiden flight or anytime soon. It's very bright with over 100 color/sequence/timing LED combinations. Once I learn to fly it, I want to teach a friend so they can fly it while I sit back and watch the show. ;)

    Newer on the menu for me is flying at dusk. When you land after being up at that time from 200 ft up it can get real dark quickly. My plan is to fly near sunrise if there is an urge to fly at night. The drone can unlock some fantastic sunsets impossible to see any other way. (Flying with auto settings and mostly in normal mode just enjoying the view) Looking forward to the photography vid. Nice piece of work.

    Sunrise is underrated just a challenge to get up super early especially during the summer hours when it’s like 5am 😂 During this video I pointed the camera 90° down to help with landing and then just remove goggles to land by eye.

    What is the native CMOS sensor resolution of the Avata 2? Is it 4:3 or 16:9? I can’t seem to find this information on the internet. Which do you prefer when flying and for video and photography.

  • @DimmyV

    The resolution would be on DJI website under specifications. Next weeks video covers photography so stay tuned for that. I think self explanatory tho 😂

    Can I fly at nigh with the motion controler 3?

  • @TcpIpNut

    @TcpIpNut

    Ай бұрын

    Yes, you can. I've completed several flights during true dark, after astronomical twilight, using the motion controller 3. I agree that the low light capability isn't nearly as good as the Air 3 (which I own as well), due to the aperture as mentioned in another comment. Overall, I was more than disappointed with the Avata 2's low light performance. I suggest affixing a second strobe to the back of the battery so you can see the drone when landing in a very dark environment. I was in a dark park with a full moon and I couldn't see the drone at all when landing with only a strobe on top. I like to remove the goggles and land line of sight once I'm over my home position as the Avata 2 can be a good deal off the mark at times. Once, it would have landed in the top of a 50 foot tree, a good 25 feet away from home. I was ready and took control when it began to descend. Usually, it's within 1-6 feet of home but this time it was way off.

    @DimmyV Yeah. Only fly in daylight hours unless licenced. A licence is a huge financial commitment, but we can fly any drone up to 2kg or 4.4 pounds without a licence.

    @DimmyV I've only ever tried the Dji minis. I have a Mini 1, had a mini 2 and just purchased the Mini 4 pro but our winter here hasn't been drone friendly, so I'm patiently waiting for some decent weather so I can get out there. I am closely watching the fpv videos to see if I can shake the fear of crashing one before looking at getting one.

    @@jasedrivessa Mini 2 is great, you’ll love the Mini 4 quality. It’s a big jump. As for FPV crashing is inventible. I suggest to practice in a simulator which cost a lot less and will get you used to it.
