I have been recording and engineering for a LOT of years...since the early 70's and I feel like a beginner after seeing many of the folks on this amazing show. I learn more in one episode than I can otherwise learn in a healthy length of time. Not only about technique but software and equipment that the everyday man can often use as well. Thank you all so much for giving so much of yourselves. I'm sure it is deeply appreciated by all of us out here is audio-land!

These insightful shows are for more than just audio engineers. I think all musicians should watch them. I hope Pensado's Place has another 100 shows in them! Thank you Avid, Vintage King Audio, and Art Institue for the support to make this invaluable information available to me.

I engineer, mix, and master a lot of noisey punk for vinyl, and I think this episode was one of the best/most informative. Pete's explanations of how to handle high and low end, the physical properties and limitations of vinyl, etc were concise and clear in a way I haven't seen anywhere else. Team Pensado does a tremendous job each and every episode, thanks y'all!

There is one thing I don't get regarding ITL's topic: If we pan low harmony voice more to the side and leave main voice in the middle and move the hi harmony voice more to the center, wouldn't we get unbalanced and "side heavy" mix?

its a lot to do with the vinyl cut vs cd master. CDs limitation is the peak level where vinyl is much more affected by the rms level. So the mastering engineer takes a different approach

***** ok, what I ment is how you explain or describe low frequency being out of phase? What state is that? What is going on? Does it just mean, too much bass on top of each other? or sub being in stereo?
