Show Us Your Junk! Ep. 29 - Pierre de Reeder (64 Sound/Rilo Kiley) | EarthQuaker Devices
Музыка
Ensuring those who step into this recording facility are able to enhance their inspiration, Pierre de Reeder has stocked 64 Sound with a serious arsenal of dreamy studio gear. Unique instruments with their own vibe, high quality outboard effects, and of course... microphones. A lot of really useful microphones are in attendance which is not only mandatory, it's also an apparent passion. Can you blame him? Like most older studios, the history of the joint plays some part in the overall feel of the tracking experience and Pierre has done a wicked job of adding to the mix while retaining all the raw artifacts of the original take. Yes, you should watch this closely. Yes, you should listen to Rilo Kiley. And yes, you should check out the 64 Sound website for a full list of all that great gear!

Yes!! That thing is a trip.
This has got to be the nicest studio head I've ever come across. What an apparently extremely balanced and together human being. A friggin rarity these days.
Drums + Pedals = total radness

Gong would use synthesizer filters on everything, works great on drums.
You know its legit when you see the Radio Shack catalog and the Tape Op mags.
Feels like home
I love that classic 70's vibe. Seriously great studio!
One of the raddest studios I've ever been to! That 1970's smell of that place is magical. Pierre and Dave Trumfio are the best in the biz. Awesome video guys.
Seems like a great guy with an awesome setup
THAT SNARE DRUM SOUND @14:14 😍😍😍😍

The theremin through the Afterneath got my cat's attention.
I love watching these. I’ve seen them all at least once. But I have to admit, I almost always buy some cool new thing after a few episodes.
My band recorded there a few years back with Alex Newport. We really loved that studio. Place was such a good vibe and Pierre was really cool.
I've filmed in loads of studios (including the amazing Abbey Road) and this place looks so nice, what a lovely vibe and what a dude.
This is so damn cool

Would be cool to be revived as a plug in, since gear like that is so rare, let alone be in working condition. I could definitely hear the potential some cool intros being generated from it.
The pedal performance/demo was great!
i bet it smells cool in there
God damn, I love studios like this!
This was totally awesome!!!! Especially loved the drums+the Earthquake Pedals+ the Wurlitzer Drum machine and the Earthquake Pedals combination! Wow 🤯❤🙌🏽

I’m gonna use this show to preliminarily audition studios for the record I want to make
That theremin is crazy cool.
Man I’ve got an EV PL5 in my hand that looks just like that 635A. It sounds acceptable but most importantly it’s very forgiving. As in, it doesn’t fight you when proximity would become an issue with a lot if other dynamic mics, and this one is Omni-directional, which helps reduce to “plosive” issues so common with others. A lot of people don’t realize it but the tighter the pattern of the mic the more proximity effect will bite you, hence the forgiving nature of the PL5. I’m pretty sure something just like this used to be common for TV reporters.
Inspiring
We need a Lightning bolt episode :)
The sound of the Bit Commander being sent out to the live room with the Rainbow Machine dipping in was tight as fuck 👌 Makes me wanna try that now. I just need to convince my drummer 😆
I had an M-79 16 track on 2". 15ips . BAMMMMM !!!
Ace! 👍👊😎
How in the hell do you guys find these guys/girls with warehouses of rare gear?!! I am once again amazed! Awesome video! Thanks so much.

Whats the 1. big mixer? Great Studio by the way :-)
At this point I think EQD just makes these videos to make me feel dissatisfied with home recording.
what is the main console running the drum-loop outboard effects? and whats that "mix down" tape deck beside the console?

Not allowed to have the outside painted? Admittedly did not look at every previous comment but that place would look good with some art on it. Obviously sometimes landlord forbids it.
