I think he's already a professional in playing his instrument. But he could become also a violin teacher on an music academy.

The sound Ray Chen gets from his violin is so incredibly glorious and his musical, emotional playing gives me chills and warms my heart at the same time! I love the soloist - she has such a lovely vibrato and some beautiful moments utilizing Ray's coaching re the angle on the E string.

She did a great job and i would've been super nervious playing for Ray. Good tips that will improve my playing and she will be even better....the leaning to get a better angle on the E string was great!!!! Cheers from America

One of the best masterclass I have ever seen! This piece for pianist and violinist is like Mt.Everest , not easy. Probably one of the deepest in emotion and hardest in techniques pieces ! Ray is no doubt one of the best violinists we have in this planet. For his age , then 25 years old. He is teaching very well.

It is true what he said in the beginning, is that you have to *know* how and what you are going to phrase and not just randomly phrase everything. You have to know exactly how you want to phrase it and also have more options, if you get lost or some sort.

If "you get lost", you just play some notes that come into your mind, waiting till you remember the rest of the score.

Great lesson but in front of an audience in an auditorium is indeed strange? Lessons should be held in a class room. Fine, invite 10 others in the class. A small intimate setting and extend the lesson for hours. There's too much to learn.
