Absolutely amazing, I suppose not every recording calls for a Sound Devices or a sony D-100. Eye opening I should say.

Would love to work in game sound. I work in sound post on indie short films for like 7 years now, with the occassional feature thrown in and recently location sound. I get lost when it comes to middleware and game engines. Tried to learn Wwise a few years ago but couldn't get it to work on PC so gave up.

Don't give up on it John. It's well worth trying to get in touch with Wwise to troubleshoot why it wasn't working on your PC as it's the industry standard around game audio. They also offer the Wwise 101 for free, which is a great comprehensive guide with interactive lessons to help you build your skills using the software. You can then purchase the exam if you want to be officially certified. Definitely a step in the right direction if you'd like to work in game audio - www.audiokinetic.com/courses/wwise101/ There's always FMOD as well, which is still very prevalent in a lot of AAA games. You might have more luck getting that running on your PC should Wwise still be an issue. Best of luck!

@@dBsInstitute yea should do really. There's definitley more jobs in the games industry than film industry. I presume because its a younger industry and they just do things differently, as in, in films they hire in a certain traditional manner. Games industry hire how they like by comparison. But I'm always blocked because my knowledge is limited with games sound. And I don't really know how to change that because I don't know anyone.

@@johnmellor932 You could also try Fmod, many studios use that and personally I think it's more intuitive than wwise

Glad you enjoyed this, Jonas! We will be publishing videos on Foley and other techniques in the coming months so keep your eyes peeled and subscribe! Like a lot of things, experimentation and trial and error are always good places to start! Pick a scene from a film you like and try and match the sounds as you watch it.

Tried and tried and tried. I've done everything they said. I've done the cube game tutorial on the Wwise website 20 times. After generating soundbank the shotgun blast does not playback in cube game. In the capture log it simply says 'selected media not available' all I've done different is used my own shotgun sound wav.file but that should not matter.
