I do the simple ankle double bass. I use my legs if it is slow enough or I get too tired. Just not much and I doubt I'd see more energy if I avoid it. I will try. Because going from fast ankle then slower using legs is a nice nice break during some songs/sets. 3:16 gasp I see feet sliding!!

The posture one is interesting. If the toms are mounted to the kick drum then you have very limited adjustability so if you are like me and have T rex arms then sitting far enough back isn't an option not to mention if you have Longboards. I always go with a stand alone kick drum. 💥

Hi! Drum enthusiast here! I have a request for you. Kindly do the drum challenge (bass drum pedal) using various types of female footwear like high heels, ballet flats, female sandals, etc. please. Thank you.

Great video and helpful points to think about. I learned the old method of just full leg motion and play it well, along with the quick pick-up triplets at the start of a measure of before a snare hit. Anything beyond that is just a long-term frustration, the only real limit to what I can play. I’ll give these tips a shot, maybe play with pedal settings once more. If still no luck, I’m thinking fast, consistent 16ths are the one thing not gonna happen. But this video is super clear and appreciated!

Thanks for watching! Keep practicing and don't be too hard on yourself. You never know, those fast, consistent 16ths might just surprise you one day!

Yeah same but fixed. What you lack is constant strokes, your brain doesn't know what this is. I used to practice short bursts of 32nd notes thinking I would make progress. The fix was to practise constant notes at a lower tempo for a much longer duration. Accidental flams and in unisons are part of the process but don't stop, keep playing with the intention to 'unflam' the notes. The brain will get the message and it will unlock the skill way sooner than you might think.

Thanks for the info. It might be a bit off subject but how do you feel about triggers ? Do you think it's smart to use them live? And do you think that most death metal drummers use them?

If your band tunes low and you want to hear your kick drum live so that your band sounds good, then use triggers.

My advice: When you’re sitting 🪑 down AND shaking 🫨 your right leg 🦵 THAT’S the technique for BOTH feet 🦶
