One of my favourite Metallica tunes from the 1986 album Master of Puppets. I left in a few mistakes just because I thought they were funny and I didn't want to redo the whole song as it was a one take effort.
Gear Used:
Guitar: Gibson Les Paul Standard 2014 & Ibanez RG470
Recorded with a Fractal Axe FX II using Cakewalk Sonar X3 Producer DAW.

I've been watching you for years man and can only hope to play as well as you one day! You have some of the best covers on youtube! Beautiful Les Paul by the way 🤘
Amazing work man, love it!
Man just found you on KZread. Just killer playing on every single video. We're not worthy!
One of the BEST covers' performer on youtube! (IMO his expressions and emotions, while he is playing are the refference for the gutair players). Why the hell he has so few views?! It should have been millions.
nicely edited, insane skills, awesome guitars, why do you only have 18k subs mate
Probably the best version I have heard! :)
awesome! keep up the great work dude!
Already liked the video before watching it because I know it will be great!
Awesome, sounds almost exactly as the original. Great solo btw.
You changed some parts. Great! Sounds cool.
that was great dude it rocked
love it!
This cover is 👌. Also i loved how you were like “fuck!” When you flubbed that last note in the harmony solo during the ballad part. Thats how I am when I miss that one note lol.
👌Top Tune! Nice work fella.
That was awesome!!!
Damn dude!? Nice job! I'm crazy jealous of your skills! GREEN WITH ENVY! Thank you for sharing! 🤘😁👍

3:31 - yes baby yes! That should have been part of the track....
Awesome cover, man! \m/
very clean playing
Technique is perfect but I think you should play this one on a guitar with EMG's to match the heavy tone of Metallica. But this is still a great cover :)

I don't have EMGs but for the next 'Tallica cover I'll try and zone in on the tone a bit more.

Tone is more than fine. Stay with passive pups ;)
@vicsanza

Back then James was using passives for MOP recording, so the album tone comes from passive PU's, kirk used EMGs in his Jackson Rhoads.

No way, sounds great the way you're playing it - don't change the tone. Especially through an AxeFx, phenomenal tone bud.

@mattrg470

Since I was 7. I'm 31 now.
Awesome. The only thing i would've changed is the palm mutes during the verses. With 2 guitar tracks you could've had 1 doing the palm mutes and the other ringing out the chords like the original. Maybe more palm mute on the chords coming out of the first guitar solo. Non issue for me though. Great job.
@dansmolen1618

Fucking amazing! Why did you switch to the Ibanez for Kirk's solo?

mattrg470 I thought that as soon as I asked the question haha. I'm in the market for upgrading my current guitar (Yamaha Pacifica ) what style would you recommend? The local guitar place hasn't had any les pauls in a few months but there's a nice Ibanez that I've been messing around with.
@mattrg470

Depends what you're looking for. If you want to play metal, don't buy a guitar with single coils. If you want to use a locking tremelo, don't buy a Les Paul etc However a Les Paul can be one of the most versatile if you put the time in.
Wow, i'm impressed! thats some really nice playing. Btw do you have any tips for improving in playing guitar? :)

1. Practice 2. Practice 3. Practice . . . . . . 10. Practice

Axel Mugisha yeah i do practice, but it doesnt seem to do anything to my playing. It may be that i just need to be more patient or i'm doing something wrong. Yet it is pretty frustrating.
@SuperJamesBridge
7 жыл бұрын
Veeti Kinnunen Learning how to practice is a skill in itself. some basic tips are to always use a metronome or rhythm track, practice stuff you can't play yet not just playing things you already know, and start new song really slow and nail the timing etc before getting up speed. All those the most common issues I find hold people back.
@veetikinnunen7281
7 жыл бұрын
James Bridge I will try to apply these tips to my playing. Thanks a bunch!
@SuperJamesBridge
7 жыл бұрын
Veeti Kinnunen np mate I'm still learning too but my progress has been way faster since I started doing these things. All tips given to me by an excellent tutor. Also finding songs that are achievable helps. If your new to playing trying for a Kirk Hammett solo might not be the best idea, but perhaps a Black Sabbath song or a track from a band like Ghost would push your skills but also be something you can nail with a bit of practice. Totally depends where you are and what music you like but you get the idea 😁
*Sounds like if Slash filled in for Hammett for a day*
It always amazes me that the wankers out there give talented people like yourself a thumbs down. WTF is there not to like about this. Sounds great!!

Dislikes don't bother me. I know I played some of this wrong and some people are very protective of how it was originally played. As long as there is some kind of constructive criticism I welcome the comments. But thanks for liking!!

is it a lot harder to play the solo on a les paul?
@mattrg470

Not really, just cant do the whammy bar stuff. Right up the higher end can get a little bit cramped.
@itsPaJaRo
7 жыл бұрын
isn´t the ibanez neck thinner and easier to shred?
@mattrg470
7 жыл бұрын
Its certainly thinner, but in the last few years I like guitars to put up a bit of a fight. Fat necks, higher action and more string tension.
@itsPaJaRo
7 жыл бұрын
well thats a point,, i hate high action, i like the guitar to be the best playable possible
