Thank you! Awesome lesson. One stand with additional clamp and umbrella below with hard and powerful light on the top. And all on one stand.

Depending on position of sun, could use sun as main light and then fill the shadows, or have sun as back light using a more direct light on subjects face to create a soft light. Another option could be to use a diffuser to shield the model from sun and then use lights for main and fill. Our midday sun in Australia is harsh lol 🌞

Silver reflector in midday sun is always a winner. Much more natural and less gear to carry around.

I always use the sun to backlight the subject and to avoid squinting. I'd use off camera flash to light the subject's face/body. I usually use an AD300Pro with Ad-S85, sometimes in HSS mode to match the sun

Definitely have some challenges with the midday sun! I do a lot of travel shooting so I bring some smaller lights and often use them unmodified outside because of the wind but also intensity of the direct sun occasionally. I should try more with a softbox instead of umbrellas since I don't have assistants to hold the lights.

It’s alway a challenge to shoot in high noon with midday sun. I normal try to keep the sun on my subject back or I look for a shade that will also give me a bit of bounce. If that is not possible. I take and use have my assistant or if the subject brought someone with them to hold my big reflector with just the inner part of it. Over the subject to big it a little shade and then follow it up to give it that touch of flash as a fill either with a cheap shoot through umberlla on it or a softbox. It’s all depend on how harsh the light is at midday cause it could be a over cast day then the possible are open . If I have to put my subject face toward the sun then the reflector will give a lot more shade to it and then with a simple low power flash using it just to fill in the subject. Also now day with most flashes having the high speed sync you can event use a faster shutter speed if you plan on using low apture. Normal when I am out door with the room to move I don’t shoot below 5.6. So being able to got up faster on the shutter in high speed sync and then take the flash or flashes as my main light can also speed up the shot. Just remember that the flash uses more power and can drain the battery or even cause it to shut off when over heating. So most of the time I do step one and then use the flashes to fill in or as main sources to give the look I like.

Overhead boom with a flag or diffusion so the poor model won't go blind mid-shoot. Then fill in a little fill. I also like a polarizer to pop the clouds, darken the sky and the CTO begins to look more brown/tobacco on the skin when I am not using a tobacco filter.

I always find myself using the sun as a backlight then fill in with the flash.

@@Garbid i got parabolic softbox 120cm and 30x120. Now i am looking at parabolic 130cm umbrella white. 130 cm will enough for full body shoot right. I only shoot 1 person

@@k8tv546reflective or shoot through? If shoot through then sure enough. If reflective also but need to position correctly. Also don't forget that indoors sometimes you will need high sealing to manage such big umbrella. I have 165 cm godox reflective umbrella with diffuser))) it's pain sometimes)
