Master Mechanic finds Bad Steering Angle Sensor. ESP BAS, Traction Control, ABS lights are on.

Heff from Heff's Automotive diagnoses what is causing the ESP BAS, Traction Control and ABS lights to be on. He determines it is the Steering Angle Sensor so the column needs to come off. Thanks, my vehicle has a similar problem with all the different warnings lights on. I’m glad it might be a sensor.

You are wrong here the whole steering column does not need to be removed you just need to remove the steering wheel then the clock spring and it’s attached to the back of the clock spring

I had my left axle replaced and I noticed the steering wheel was not aligned and as I drove home the Jeep made this rumbling noise and immediately the ESP BAS and traction sensor illuminated on the dashboard. My question is could the replacement of the axle damage the Steering Angle Sensor? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Did you take it back to the person who replaced the axle? It could have caused it.

You need to replace your clock spring, it's cheaper when u buy it and get a mechanic to put it in, rather then tge garage.

My 2013 Suburban LTZ has the traction control light and the service stabilitrak light on. Many people advise me to check the steering position sensor connector. Theres mention of putting a foam spacer to keep the connector from leaning over and to prevent corrosion?

I have a 2010 dodge Journey ESP/BAS and traction lights come on at random which is causing my car not to shift out of park when lights are on. I have to shut my car off and turn back on to get lights to shut off and able to shift out of park any advice?

Can code C121C (Torque Request Signal Denied) be caused because of code U0126 (Lost Communication with Steering Angle Sensor)? I do have code C2100 (Low Battery Voltage) And i have been told that my car seems to have a shortage somewhere because the lights dim when we ran an alternator test (good) and battery test (bad which was replaced) when i turn my steering wheel all the way to either side, it makes a nasty noice that seems to come from the power steering pump. I also have problems with my blinkers and my headlights be glitching at times. Sometimes i have my car on idle and they flick even my dashboard so i know it’s something electrical. The history with this car (2005 Chrysler 300 5.7L V8) is that it had a bad heater core so they ended up replacing it.

HI GUY HOPE U CAN POST THIS CAUSE I AM COMPUTER CHALLENGED. 2009 CHALLENGER MANUAL TRANS. ESP BAS LIGHT CAME ON WHEN TIRE CAME OFF CURB OUT OF GAS STATION RAMP N TIRE SPUN.ESP (ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL)BAS(BRAKE ASSIST PROGRAM) I DID ALL THE TRICKS ON U TUBE. SPIN WHEEL ALL THE WAY TO RIGHT THEN TO LEFT. TURNED LIGHT OFF TEMPORALLY. TURNED CAR OFF WHILE IN NUTRAL WHILE GOING 20 MPH N RESTARTING IT. TURNED LIGHT OFF TEMPORALLY. LOOKED INTO STEERING ANGLE SENSOR N FOUND THAT IF THIS HAPPENS TO U , IT SHOULD RESET ITSELF AFTER ABOUT 100 MILES OF DRIVING OR SO.IF NOT,THERE ARE CODE READER DEVICES THAT HAVE SAS ON THEM. THIS RESETS YOUR STEERING ANGLE SENSOR. DO THIS BEFORE CHANGING IT.ALSO WHEN U DO CHANGE IT IT SHOULD BE RESET TO CENTER.
