I’m SO pissed at Niantic for the NYC Go Fest. Why the same location as last year? But more importantly, why the 4th of July weekend?!? Hotel prices for the holiday weekend are double of last year. The room I got last year was $180 a night. This year it would be $380 a night. Absolutely ridiculous. And I’m lucky enough to live a couple hours away, so at least I don’t need to fly in.

This isn't usually Niantic's fault. The cities have to request for them to be an honest, a go fest event. This is why Japan always has one every year.

@@TheJBite fair, but I’m skeptical that there weren’t other cities that wanted a Fest. The more egregious offense, though, is the timing of doing it on an American holiday weekend. The extra cost, inconvenience in travel, and temperature make 4th of July weekend in New York City pretty messed up. If Niantic had swapped the Japan dates or Madrid dates for NYC dates, it would have made more sense.

I’m missing out on in-person GO Fest again but I’m glad I have international friends to do Raids with. Hopefully I’ll get a Hundo Necrozma and Ultra Beasts.
