I have been playing since the game started. I mainly play out of habit, but still enjoy some things in the game. I just wish that Niantic would listen to the player base and stop doing things that shows that whoever decided on the changes, never played the game. Would be nice for Niantic to listen to the player base feedback!

They don't care and I'm suprised some people actually think there's even a slight chance that they care. They care about $$$$$$$ period, end of story. It's really that simple. I promise you every board meeting, all they talk about is $$$$$$$$%. They don't care about you, they don't like you, they depend on you becoming so addicted to imaginary virtual monsters that you dump 100s or 1000s of dollars into something that won't matter at all in 20 years when you could spend that time learning a new trade or doing something actually productive in your life.........like getting other people addicted to virtual monsters sp that they dump 100s of bucks into your venture

Pokemon Go needs: quality of life updates: - multi gift sending and opening - speeding up ALL animations - remote lucky trades - feed entire gym 60 berries - TM the community day move on an already evolved pokemon (i have to keep some of the base form pokemon for years because of this) features for long term players: - training pokemon (increasing IV's by completing battles) - classic turn based PVP mode (i dont like GBL personally)

The animations are super fast on newer phones only. They could improve it for older phones though and offer a SKIP animation feature that saves us time.

Mass trades

played since day 1, game is never stale and always fun to do. its not just a game, its a reason to hang out with others and just go do stuff. socializing and getting out is what the game was made for. and the fact it succeeded in making me do that, on top of being pokemon related, makes it worth putting in the time for it

I agree that the burnout can be real. As for long-term players, this is one of the reasons why I focus so much on getting gold level on as many gyms as possible. I'm up to 193 now and still going!

@@jag7878 I travel a bunch so I go between lots of gyms, and I work in a Capital city so there's a lot there too. As for tracking, I keep doing down through silver ones to see what ones I've gotten further on, and I'm always checking Campfire to see if new ones pop up.

I wish it didn’t take months to hit lucky friends with people, especially since it takes months just to get to best friends

I'm going to guess part of it is some of us have lots of lucky friends we haven't traded with. Some are in other cities, some in the same neighborhood but I did one raid or trade with them, and traded gifts until we became lucky but haven't run into them again. Etc. So I think they think people don't value it. PEOPLE NEED DISTANCE TRADING MECHANISM.

I don’t know how any game can stay fresh for years. Once you have caught everything and raided everything, what is left? They added buddies and pvp with friends, GBL, Team Rocket. They could add breeding, I guess. I know some people keep a male and female of each species.

I just play casually now. Burnout came from me after seeing Niantics' pattern of taking things away or nerfing things I love to force me to play HOW THEY WANT. The remote raid pass changes solidified that for me. Instead of spending my excess game cash on PokeGo, I save it for games that aren't so greedy or controlling.

It has also helped me out of the “Covid-weight-gain-slump” that I think a lot of people besides myself fell into, and I’m actually shedding lots of weight just walking with PokemonGo! Haha! They need more goals and they need to be doable for solo players. I've said many times, a system of introducing Gym Leaders like Erika from the games into Pokemon Go that has a level-up system for the badges that makes the battles more difficult as you level them up could be fun.

I feel like nothing I have is actually valuable. You'd think playing since July 2016 would give me some edge... but it doesn't. Everything comes back and I don't really have any incentives to play hard cause I know if I wait, everything will be accessible in an event. I remember when people in the town would say "LARVITAR ON ELM STREET" and we'd all rush over. It was a chase.. now it's not. and, outside of "UNOWN ?" or black hat pikachu, nothing I have is valuable in a trade... and if it is, whoever is playing is probably new and can't afford the stardust to trade for it... so I can't even help out newbies. I also felt really let down when I had 100%s run from raids. 100% are way more rare than shiny and actually useful. I get that we have the new master ball but once I use it, it's gone, so it's always a game of chance. I pay for the raids and really need that 100% to dump the XL candy in. I don't know why 100%s aren't guarantee catches

It is the worst when you finish a raid and you hit the pokemon with 8 excellent throws and golden raspberries and it still doesn't stay in the ball. I haven't had many run from me, but I have caught plenty on the last ball even after having mostly excellent throws. Raid catches shouldn't be that hard

been saying the same for a while, all pkmn should have 4 moves by now, and abilities like intimidate and the like. besides outfits, there is nothing separating one pkmn hundo from 2016 to the same pkmn hundo made in 2024

Totally agree with all of this! I do hope they add more to the things like the route play. It would be fun to have more random items that we need to work for like the Zygard Cells to keep the game interesting and fun.

A couple of creators have called for it before but I would love to see challenging NPC battles against Gym Leaders, Elite Four and Champions. Could link it to routes to get people to use that feature more, instead of mateo and a pointless gift exchange you can find say Brock and battle him to win a gym badge. The next time you complete a route on a different day if you've already beaten brock before you now find Misty and so on. Eventually you get all 8 badges and can take on the elite four and champion. Each leader gets progressively harder e.g. first 2 are both Little cup 500 cp battles (you are also limited to the same cp as the leaders to make it challenging and not just quick tapping like rocket battles), 3, 4, 5 and 6 are great league 1500 cp cap, 7 and 8 are UL 2500 cp. Then elite four are all UL and Champion is master league (with no legendaries). Each season in Go could feature a different set of leaders from a different region.

The GO ++ has been a life saver. I just flip stops with it usually but it lets me focus on catching as I go. I quit for many years until my son got old enough and wanted to get into it, now we are grinding again.

I absolutely love your content and always look forward to your videos. I've been playing for about a year. My favorite thing is to simply grind but the spawns have been horrible with these events as of late.

No, the longer I play the more high iv Pokémon I catch. 3 years you can have all your raid teams dusted... but that means tons of other high iv Pokémon, other good raid Pokémon just go undusted. You will always find more than you have time and dust to power up.

Yeah pretty much, I’ve played since 2016 (took a few breaks tho) almost everything I wanted powered up I have powered up. The only things I still need are a few legendaries that I won’t cause I either don’t have a good iv one or I’m missing candy for it

Im a long term player i play daily mainly just shiny checking, i play pretty casually i do enjoy the game but there's obviously a few big things id like to change especially the remote raids nerf! And the very very stale rotation of raid bosses i would personally love to see armoured mewtwo and the clones return but theres slim chance that ever happening! Hey Billy, I’m in a predicament. My girlfriend got me into playing Pokemon go but all of a sudden she got bored with it and doesn’t want to play anymore. I still want to play but she gets annoyed when we are out and I start playing. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to break up over Pokémon go 😂. We are actually going to New York because we had already planned the trip. I think I’m gonna take a break after go fest. I like PVP. It’s freaking hard to win but when I do it’s really fun. She is a Pokédex player.

Having an auto-catcher has saved me a lot of stress when I'm out with my family or doing stuff that I need to be present for instead of staring at a screen. I really like how I can just set it and let it catch stuff for me and spin stops so I can focus on doing what I'm supposed to be doing.

My sister & I play for stress relief every day. I think having someone to play with helps keep the game fresh!

What would be cool is, add pokemon games (like red/blue) in pokemon go - people who are at home can play a controllable game, catch pokemon and they carry over to pokemon go, an integrated system - they can then keep adding legacy games into the thing, put it behind a paywall, like $4.99 to unlock a game mode and you go around battle pokemon and farm while still interacting with pokemon go. pokemon go could use some sort of a pokemon battle that is PVE and not PVP, maybe an optional battle screen when catching pokemon like legendaries, to aid in catching, once it's defeated it gives another small increase in catch rate, like a second berry kind of thing.

Thanks for this, I am on a break now and just am not feeling excited about it. I don’t know what it is that I would need so not super helpful. But I try to keep up with what is going on in case something sounds interesting.

I've been playing since Day One. Over that time I've taken 2 accidental extended breaks (like 4-5 months each) because I got interested in other games. I'm just back now from the second big break and excited all over again, so I'm heading to NYC for go-fest. This will be my first one since the ones they had in Chicago where I live so I'm hoping that will keep me interested again!

I used to be a hardcore player for a number of years. I still play regularly but find i lack motivation to grind a bunch of catches (lvl 50 player). Most evenings i make sure to get gifts to send the next day and if i get nice tasks and shinies then thats a bonus. I do realize not every event has to have dragons and have mewtwo and Rayquaza in raids but for sure something has to be done if niantic wants to hold onto the legacy players. I strongly recommend watching Count Jinsulas video series on Pokemon Go Ideas which are ideas he has to make the game more fresh. So far they all seem pretty cool and i think you may like them too. In a way it's a good thing when stale raid bosses are around because that'll give us veteran players a break on our wallets in prep for go fest global (for those that aren't attending any in person ones).

I’m a legacy player, been playing since literally day 1, and in the tail-end of 2022, I felt the commitment to playing the game was too much for me compared to how little I got out of it, so I eventually natural transitioned out of playing it for what turned out to be nearly a year and a half. Cut to about two months ago, I decided to pick it up again just to check the changes and what I’ve missed, and I was almost immediately sucked back into it, and I’ve been grinding it ever since. Sometimes I wish I’d never quit playing when I think about all the Pokémon and events I’ve missed out on and won’t get the opportunity to get again for a long long time, but I also recognize that year and a half break was kinda just what I needed in order to feel completely immersed in the game like I do now. It feels good to have a love for the game again, when I probably didn’t really have that for at least a year prior to quitting. I STRONGLY recommend taking a break for those experiencing burnout, because with some time it’ll help you remember just how cool this game really is.

while i agree with the title (and pretty much what billy said) i'll have to admit it's a monumental task to keep a game like this fresh for legacy players. short of a new feature that's specifcally tailored to incentivise the time you've given (like what he said here 7:44) what they could do (on the side) is little QOL stuff to reduce fatigue for legacy players (like fixing GBL bugs; listening to the playerbase; implementing a way to gain coins IN GAME) - whilst in the bakground working on features that serve new and/or legacy players (remember that new players will eventually become legacy players over time)

most people cant play a game for more than a month. its called legacy for a reason. its not monumental when there is material for days to pick from. .. and instead they choose to f*ck with the avatars. niantic needs to bring in the training factor into this like its supposed to from the start. even if a pokemon is a hundo something in the stats should be different from 2016 to a 2024, especially if kept and equipped as friend or pvp

Started in early 2017 and played every day since. I do not feel the 'stale' like many people. I love grinding though so I set hard goals. There are still so many that I haven't achieved yet ( like shiny/hundo of every available Pokemon) so I'll continue playing until I get it, really don't care how long it takes. If I get bored of one goal I'll just move to another for a while then come back to the original. While I do buy items I don't go nuts buying boost items every day. It makes everything too fast and I don't want to burn out. Determination and a positive attitude keeps me going. Stale is a mindset IMO.

I can see the concern with anything past lvl 50. I am a day 5 player however have been on and off until mid last year where I’m going hard on the game and will continue to. Have my first Go Fest in person event for Madrid, can’t wait! I do however don’t see anything exclusive to lvl 50. I’m almost 44 now and the challenges required to lvl up can be very challenging, especially for the casual player. With that being said, there should be some kind of exclusive lvl 50 gameplay, IE: specific lvl 50 raids, maybe exclusive lvl 50 gyms where you get high end items or certain lvl 50 raids that reward you with old costume Pokemon or event Pokemon that have not been out since. I do believe something needs to be added to incentivize gameplay after 50.

Honestly the best thing I recommend for long time players is take breaks from the game. I’ve taken 2 breaks once in 2017 for 6 months & again January this year (I just got back in the game) it really makes the game feel fresh cause their are more shinies , new Pokémon, raid bosses and storylines to do. Gives you new purpose

I started at the start, week 3 of the game coming out, I started playing. Back then it was REALLY tedious. I stopped playing at lvl 24. Years later, in 2019, November, I started playing again, as my step-mum asked if I still played it, when I said I had stopped, she said, you should o-en it up, they have added so much since then (when I stopped). I haven’t stopped since. But you are right. It feels a little stale. With how many that are still to be added, and with how many shiny to still be added, Niantic could easily add a new shiny every two weeks, and add a new mon every two weeks, and not run out for a couple years…. Not to mention, 7 mega’s still to be added…. Manaphy and Phione and Arceus…. Volcanion, Magearna, Crown Zacian and Zamazenta…

Been play my this game since launch. After I caught most of the gen 2 mons when they were first released I took long break. Came back right after bulbasaur com day. Been playing pretty consistently since and it’s definitely important to take month long breaks when there’s no exciting events

I just had a funny thought what if there is a pokemon masters event. Where you can challenge in stead of taken over rocket gunts/leaders at gyms, you can battle gym leaders from various regions at gyms 🤔

I’ve been hardcore since about day two in Japan (about two weeks after release in the US), and I am starting to feel the colossal waste of time that is regular play. I barely raid anymore, don’t care if I have to work on events like ComDay (used to go nuts!), and I’m getting tired of the constant disappointment. I’ve toyed with the idea of quitting entirely, but I love the friends I’ve made and I’ve also invested a lot of time and money in the game. You’re right that it’s catered to newer players, but that’s not a good strategy because the newer players usually don’t stick around and/or spend the money the legacy players do. It’s unsustainable. Allowing you to actually TRAIN your monsters, as you suggested, as well as having something like breeding or other tasks/functions to keep long-term players busy and happy would work for sure. Plus giving us lvl 60.

I recently hit level 50 at the last GoFest. Its only been a bit over a week and I already understand what all of you are talking about. There is a lack of drive when you're not grinding xp. That grind to 50 had me worn out some days so I'm glad to be able to relax a bit more. However, I do have my own personal goal. I've been working on getting 100% IVs of all the original pokemon. Right now raiding Landorous is unattractive. I'll raid for the shiny and then stop. But last week, I was raiding like crazy for that hundo Zapdos. This week I was enjoying trying to get Psyducks, Slowpokes, and Drowzees. This weekend I'll hunt Geodudes and Rhyhorn. Having this personal goal gives me something to look forward to in the game in addition to shiny releases or new pokemon releases.

It depends on your playstyle. I’ve been playing since the game came out but I still play every day. I consider my playstyle casual but hardcore. I play every time I go outside to do something, going to and from work, shopping, etc. at work I let my go plus spin pokestops to refill items. I only do raids that I come across while I’m out doing something, whenever a new Pokémon comes out in raids I get a few, I don’t grind raids like crazy, I enjoy hatching more than raiding. I don’t pvp unless there is a quest for it. Once a week I mega evolve my megas to level them up. As for Friendship and buddy’s I don’t do that as much as I could. There is so many things you can do in game that there are many different ways you can play. I’m more of a go out and catch and hatch with an occasional raid or two. I don’t get hung up on grinding I don’t care how long it takes to get to max level or how long it takes to get a new Pokémon. Im still level 48 I’ll get to 50 when I get to 50 there is no need to rush since levels don’t really matter much.

Im a day one player and never missed a single day yet Im not level 50 yet. I should hit 50 by the end of the year. I do exactly what you said, I catch one Pokemon, I spin one stop, I complete one task, and on top of that I play with my buddy to get my 3 hearts and I evolve a mega for free. I try to complete every tasks, I buy some tickets but not all. There are up and downs in the game but I feel it is way better than what it used to (except for the remote nerf, this was the worst decision ever and killed so many online communities which were so active before that, I admin one and most of the people stopped playing because what they wold enjoyed the most was raiding with friends from our chats). A few things which would improve the game play for me: - Being able to improve stats somehow, training, or even fusing pokemons together to keep the higher stat for each line - replace regionals by costumes, like, have a Mime with an I

They should expand a new research that involves like combat journeys. Like event Pokémon (like necrozma, Shaymin, marshadow etc.) should, on first raid catch of an event or cycle, open a research that has you bring this Pokémon through different battles within the research as part of a lore-relevant and coherent story, which also introduces new unique battle mechanics in the process, which could then become a means of testing these mechanics for potential future battle league events in the process.

I started playing in 2024 on a whim, but still with the purpose of getting to level 37 for nominating pokestops. Being able to get the mega and all these cool pokemon has been a good opportunity for me to catch up with my friends who have really old accounts. I started late March and have grinded nearly everyday (😭) to now be level 35 as of today and just saw my first Gbird, and despite all the shinies, megas, and ultra beasts that I have recently gotten I still get jealous seeing my friends with pokemon that aren't yet available to me except through trades.

Day 1 , I've only missed about 14 days combined of playing in the last 8 years, burnout is definitely a issue but those are the days when I just get a catch and a spin, I bought a used ++ last month and it's been a god send

Also day 1 player, did take a break for a bit, but have been playing consistently since the original Bagon Comm day. I love me some PVP. The only complaints I have is the top 10-15 pokemon don't typically change. I wish I was more able to play with my favorites and those are never meta relevant.

I agree. Been playing since 2016. The game needs new game play features. Billy had recommended new game play features on this channel before but yet to be seen if Niantic will implement it.

I think one solution to the issue of hitting level and not having that xp incentive would be the creation of a prestige level. Maybe every 5 million xp you gey a prestige level and it will give you 50,000 stardust plus (1000x prestige level number) for scaling gives excitement for high xp events and a use for luck eggs still. The numbers may be wonky but the idea could help some amount of players engaged when they wouldnt be otherwise.

Hey Billy. I started playing a week after pogo came out. Since then I've only taken time off when I had a broken phone and when my phone got stolen. Other than that I play everyday. I don't really play with a lot of people. Every once in a while I'll meet up with a group usually pogo fest. I wish they would make a "village" gym leader. Make a big gym in the center of a town. And then u can take over a gym with ur best 6 mons and be challenged by other trainers to earn gym badges as a leader. They could give out a legendary or mythical mon if u are the leader of the gym for a week.

I cannot imagine being a PoGO player that’s not interested in PvP. The only reason that I still grind this game is to hunt for better IVs of meta-relevant mons for GBL

I'm not really in it for the game but more for the community. I set my own personal goals but if I don't hit it I don't get depressed. However I am in a very privileged position in that I travel to live events. I also have access to some of the top play areas in the world (NYC, Tokyo). So I just do my own thing and I also try to help out kids by giving them regionals.

New player here 🙋🏼‍♀️ I really enjoy the game so far, but I can see how it can get boring over time. I really would like to be able to TRAIN my pokemon and be an actual pokemon TRAINER. Because at this point I feel more like a pokemon catcher rather than a pokemon trainer. But since I am new to the game, I have lots of catching to do so it doesn’t bother me much for now. Being able to train your pokemon would be the best move for legacy players though, since not everyone enjoy doing pvp battles.

100% agree with you Billy. I'm a legacy player who hit level 50 a long time ago. There's just no incentive to grind any more and the game is now pretty stagnant. Being able to work on improving certain Pokemons would definitely give me a new goal, and I'd happily focus on getting my 98% iv mons to hundos.

Daily player for last two years and raid bosses returning helps me collect more candy/xl candy to power up. Fun to try for hundos as well. I'm sure I'll get more bored of raid boss rotations after I get 98 or 100 of the legendaries I like and enough xls to power up. But so far 2 years in I'm still excited to see kyogre, groudon, kartana, and psuedo legendarie spawns

It is hard to remain exciting for years on.... 8 years is a very long time already! To me level 60 is needed to keep older players interested and motivated. The one problem being the complete re-shuffle of the GBL leagues and Meta if they also modify the POkémon CP values.

Started day1,quite when lugia came out,till 2022,now I grind hard

I was early 39 when they introduced levels 41-50 in the Go Beyond event in November 2020. I went HARD AF in November and December to try and get whatever medal it was to commemorate hitting 40 before it went away. It burned me out and I played just Jan 1 and 2 before I put the game down until New Year's Eve when I signed on just to get a completed task for NYE and NY day. Didn't play it again until the following January 1st when I signed on just to get the stamp again before I put it back down until last December when TrainerTipsNick's videos got me excited to play again and I've played since then. I don't live rurally but there's nothing around me so there's no groups to go raiding with so if it wasn't a Research Reward legendary or Giovanni legendary I don't have it.

Every time I find a new goal, it gets nerfed. Remote raids hit hard on our community. I challenged myself in wayfarer and add stops an gyms. But now the rules changed, our trail markers are removed and players are getting banned because of nominations that were legit at the time. So I quit nominating and reviewing. Than I found a map that showed where the 4* spawns were. I hurried to get them, but now niantic is focusing on blocking these maps. Our raid hour group doesn't do a tour anymore, we do our free pass and than we go for a drink. Or even skip RH and go to a bar immediately. My last personal challenge was to put 20 shiny bronzor in gyms, which I completed last week. And now? No goals left.

I'm a longer term player and I haven't really been playing since the raid pass changes doing daily stuff a few times a week. I actually still need some of the old raids but its a lot harder to find teams or get much candy for them or farm shiny with the remote limit so I don't even bother raiding anymore. I played pvp for awhile and liked it but the events and dust situation made it feel meh after awhile; it felt bad in pvp against people who didn't have legacy moves once I had them myself it just doesn't feel even. I wish pvp was more like the mainline games I dunno if much else other then raid changes would get me back into the game more.

I played since Day 1. Started playing less when the changes/nerfing occurred. I only do the daily catch and pokestop. Will do some Com Days with my partner depending on the Pokémon.

I’m a long-term player and I still enjoy the game today because I’m still missing a bunch of shiny pokemon, I play more on the casually side now, I like collecting stardust and I think most importantly, I enjoy increasing my pokemon caught. I think one end goal for us long term players is continuing to power up many of our great raid counters to level 50.

I just wish all the pokemons were available in the game with shiny forms, and had more precise habitats irl. Make it so you can only get 1 unique of every legendary pokemon (obtained in crazy irl destination, and you would power them up like mythicals, and for IVs just implement bottle caps into the game) With that add more pokestops to rurals places or « dead » places to have a lot of them in every habitats. And delete events from the game. With all that, we might complete objectives more easily and in shorter times, but at least we would have fun playing the game instead of playing a boring game for decades

There is so much that can be done in this game to make it fun for long term players!!! I am level 50 and I play a fair bit but maybe not as much as some. Niantic still doesn’t get it! They send you a survey to complete within the game to score them 1-10 But no opportunity to say what they could improve. 100% Legendary should be an automatic catch!!! How boring is the shiny search when the shiny is the same colour as the catch? Poor Slakoth is such a beautiful pink colour which makes you not to want to evolve it just to become boring and the same as the normal colour. It takes so long to become lucky friends and I am absolutely NOT excited about this trade because it’s hard enough to get shiny legendary and when you trade them as lucky they mostly become crappy or worse these days. I remember when you actually got a lucky trade in the beginning of time, they used to be worth keeping, now I delete most of them, yes make it harder to get the lucky but FFS don’t make my shiny, especially legendary trade to 2- a low 3 ⭐️ I kid you not, I will throw excellent throws on every throw trying to catch a legendary and it can still manage to run. What is the meaning of this excellent throw and the ability to throw an excellent throw if it means very little within the game except for extra XP if you manage to catch the thing. 3 excellent throws, especially on a legendary it should be mine especially if I have paid good money for those ridiculously expensive remote raid ticket. I paid for it so there should be some benefit to this proficiency in excellent throw and paying for something! After playing since 2016 I only have 400 odd 100% Pokemon and 12, 100% legendary after so much raiding, trading, lucky friend trades so it becomes exhausting and not very rewarding. I suppose we live in hope that Niantic will wake up to themselves at some point. As for making the game exciting and back to the boring colours, there are so many brownish yellow bland colours that one wants to look at. Costumes aren’t the only thing that can make this game exciting. Let’s start a colour collection and liven up this game. Give me an event for an evolution to a baby blue slaking, a green one, pink etc. I’m sure you get where Im heading with it. This game has so much potential but they are killing it for the older players, I totally agree. As a level 50 player after so many years, the reward for time effort and money is also crap. Give us an extra incubator even to use at the cost of 500 stardust or so. This will make me want to collect more stardust for something fun especially during egg hatching events. Level 50 I just feel like a starter player with no extra fun or rewards. One other thing… Please don’t claim that this is a game about a walking discovery when you put on an event and not enough research tasks in the area and you make people need to drive, put out more event Pokemon and give me something to want to walk for. Developing interest in the mainline games is helpful if you lose interest in PoGo. I play casually daily and on event days. Any other time, I’m playing the mainline Nintendo games.

I started playing Pokemon Go in 2021 I'm still having fun playing it there's a few things I don't do and then there's gbl I used to do gbl and would always try to reach rank 20 and that was good enough for me but have quit doing it to much has put it in a negative view of people myself including I still do it for go battle events like days and weekends but aside from that I don't do it and elite raids are a no go for me because I don't have people around me who play that I've actually met the people I have met and added to my friends list I never see anymore

Eggs are the most annoying thing for me . Have a system that the player decides what kind of egg to hatch. Deleting eggs you don't want to have, and maybe to have the possibility to pick a pokemon out of an egg

I personally am in a casual mode because I want to focus on training and prepping to get ready for NYC gofest. At the same time spending time with family and friends

I played when it came out in 2016 but took a 2 year break since it became stale. I rejoined in 2019 and have had a blast but I do see it getting old fast. I’m big into shiny hunting and don’t care much for PVP or the meta of the battles. I think as long as they continue bringing new features then they can keep this game going.

There is always better shadows to get even for the most dedicated players out there. But I agree there has to be something more than that

I'm currently taking June off to relax and strategically think about how to play the game once I return in June There are days I can barely play due to work, or I'm just drained after my work is finished and don't want to play. However, I've moved on from shiny hunting and dust collection to challenges to motivate more game play (e.g, playing a certain CD using only the Go++, quick catch without looking at the phone)

I've been playing since day 1. I prefer that they drop level 60 and usually hit ace trainer in GBL and stop there. I want them to have more relevant wild spawns.

There should be a xp to stardust conversion system when hitting 50. Even thought there are a lot of level 50 gbl players that use a lot of stardust, I feel like a lot of people get an accomplishment from maxing Pokémon and catching pokemon for candys to evolve and max out instead of catching everything for stardust mindlessly

I set a goal to work for, like you did with your 100,000,000 stardust, and focus on that. Trying to get to 300,000 hours as gym leader by NYE. About 20,000 to go.

I still play every day after hitting level 50 and completing all available research tasks (except for the group tasks). There are still a lot of shinies and other things that I haven't found yet, and there is enough "new" content to keep me mostly interested. I have been getting frustrated with the shiny debut pokemon though. For example, I've probably done 30+ tasks that have given me Komala this week and haven't found anything good. I get that there is a lot of RNG, but sometimes I feel like the game should have better RNG than it does. I'll go out for an hour or more, and after looking at everything I've caught I will usually delete everything. I can go weeks and hundreds of encounters without finding shinies, and when I do find some they are usually ones that I have and not the ones that I want out of the pool of spawns. Nerfing remote raids was a bummer, so I just don't really do raids unless there is something new or a shiny I am really trying for. Battle league can be fun, but it is stressful enough for me that I don't really enjoy it that much.

Remote raid limits broke the game for me. I'm level 50 and liked being in a group and helping in raids. Add more stuff to the game if you have to, but don't take things away. New avatars designs are annoying and unneeded. Thanks.

So many people are at level 50 now. I figure out ways to engage myself. Trying to get more best buddies, trying to power up what I have to 4000 cp, always shiny hunting, and i never have too much stardust. Im tagging my 2 charged moves mons, trying to increase them...also, I try to solo as many raids as I can. And lastly, I try to do gifts at least weekly and try to let the newer players get the xp for best. I think Niantic will add extra levels eventually.

I appreciate their mission about getting people out and together, but I just don’t have time for that in my life. Being able to raid remotely was a blessing… it turned a 45 minute commitment into a 5-minute one… but then they handicapped that. Now instead of helping newer players with their remote raids, I think twice about spending my remote raid passes. I’ve really dialed back my play since then and have gone days where I don’t play at all. I’m not in a hurry to complete tasks… the lackadaisical way I went about battling rocket team leaders to finally advance to level 45 was comical. I already have enough XP to get to 46 whenever I do complete the level 45 tasks. Ironically, I feel even too ADD for PoGo now… I lose interest in the middle of a trade with my baby account because the animation is slow and tedious. I can’t stay focused long enough to ever keep my Poke storage under control. So yeah… taking breaks and letting go of FOMO over every community day or spotlight hour or raid hour has been a relief.

You forgot to mention the incoming of NEW REGION every year - the standard practice to keep it "fresh".

I would do more Legendary Shadow raids. Except they are only on weekends and require coordinating enough other players to team up. I wish they were part of Wednesday night raid hours.

Kind of feels like we haven't had any new wild Pokemon spawns to go for in a while most of the news ones have been either in raids or locked behind eggs. Been playing daily for 4 years only days I really miss if the weather is too bad for it like too cold out 30 below 0 or tornadoes going on and such. Sometimes I just do a bare minimum of sending gifts, some legendary Pokemon I wish they didn't take so long on rotation like Entei, Raikou, Suicune and others. Didn't have much luck with a Hundo Zapdos this time so hoping it doesn't take two years to return. Plus I think they should bring normal Farfetch'd back in a event global I have one from Kanto tour, but I think they should bring it around again. Been a few days I get burned out and don't want to play it and just end up sending gifts. I'm also probably like the only level 50 player that hasn't used Mega evolution yet since from day 1 I wanted Lucario to be first and is within my top 3 favorites and I got the Shundo ready for it I hope we get a Lucario outfit after waiting this long and it just might be playing in the same location as to why the game has been boring for me a bit somedays.

New players are probably more likely to spend money upfront, is my guess. If this was a game you purchased once and then it was open to play (like... every other Pokemon game) you wouldn't have a max of 300 Pokemon storage and 350 item storage. Those two factors of this game can incentivize a new player to spend money. $40 gets you 1000 extra slots of either storage. If you want to play the game regularly, that's about the minimum you need (500 more items, 500 more Pokemon) to have a good time without running out of resources constantly or giving up rare, useful, or trade-worthy Pokemon. It's not far from $40 to reach $60 or $70 if you want some premium items or event tickets over a few months. Elite TMs on a com day to make ALL those past Pokemon you missed that bit better? A new player is going to spend money to catch up. A veteran player with giant storage space and a ton of candy for most Pokemon has no reason to spend money. I've been playing for only a year and already just stick to my daily free raid pass and coins I get from gyms. I've put maybe $100 into the game in that year, all from impatience.

I think at this point not having new badge achievements is partly what slows it down. Once you've platinum all types, and have completed the trades, hatches, and showcase, etc. Whats next? Social component and exercise yes, but get to do that without pogo honestly i think niantic needs to institute some new badges, an indigo set of 8, and just like in the original you cant get to the next one until you have gotten the last one. Include a gym leader battle to move up. The mechanic is already there, as the team rocket setup proves. Not to mention where is the excellent throw badge?😅

I’m a legacy constant player… started day one… but I don’t ever go 100 percent except for specific events… most days I just catch a few mon do whatever and then do the same thing the next day. I’m lvl 42 and still have never got a shundo… need more hundos and def don’t have all the shinys… I think only those who make living doing this are effected, maybe not but yea … I work 45+ hours a week so yea that’s kept me from ever going that hard.

everyone plays this game for different reason and Niantic needs to know that and limiting things that are important to players does more harm than good, and the stuff they feel is important blows my mind. My biggest issue is being able to invite people to raid since connection can be at the aera for in person, hard to just load the screen to invite people plus getting kick out and having to restart. I feel the rewards for the people who grind are lack luster and even the encounters and shiny rates long time players are not there in research. I feel region locks should rotate through the world since not everyone has friends around the world or even cares to use raid apps. long distance lucky trades they need to get out, not everyone can travel unless they spoof. opening all the presents would be nice and don't understand the limit since they control what in the gift anyway, and it does suck when hatching eggs when it only comes from gifts. at the end of the day, it still a business, and telling people they care about their health is a joke, nerfing remote hurt a lot of people since the raid are person like the elite raids or shadows and now doing these with rayquaza only person and between time I will not be able to since I will be at work. I feel it should be all-day event, but what do i know since i play the game a suit just sits there coming up with unless ideas for something they don't play.

I've been playing since August 2016, primarily as a motivator to get physically outside at least once a day, even if that is just to, as you say, keep streaks alive, some days for me even that is difficult due to mobility issues Pokemon go is a long term game by design, otherwise they'd have released every pokemon available across all current 9 generations by now, and those who have everything would never be enticed to log back in ever again Lately I'm grateful for any lackluster events just to be able to slow down the grind and reset I play smart not hard these days, only evolving the best I have, unless evolving is part of a collection thing then i'll evolve anything and transfer it if it's bad when it comes to spending money I'm free to play unless I feel an extra ticket will actually benefit me, I'm all in for a global go fest or tour event, as those are always beneficial, (I just wish global go fest was any other weekend this year, but I'll make something work) I bought the egg ticket in February because chansey comm day was egg based, sinnoh tour had eggs, and I used the leftover few incubators for the cleffa hatch day

What I don’t enjoy is the stale seasonal spawns in between events. Also some events have rubbish spawns too.

I used to play every single day like crazy. I would go to a ton of places, have my favorite grind areas, drive a lot (lot of gas), spend a lot of money on extra stuff. I get burned out. I would be committed for a few months and then burn would kick in and I might stop playing for months, even a year. Then rinse and repeat... Right now I am on my burn out phase lol.

I want these: Galarian Winged Mirages in raids (with shiny option) because catching them wild is insanely difficult. Bottle necking: This would allow you to train your 98% to 100 etc Possibly breeding: take a male and female Pokémon and out comes it's baby form (which can be shiny if a parent is) I want them to unlock mythical trading ( you can trade Meltan which is mythical but not others!?!) make it make sense. And the big one international trading...I WANT TO TRADE WITH FRIENDS ALL OVER

Even though ive played since 2016 on a daily basis, because im rural and have had to mange that, I still actively want to play as much as I can, I literally play it anywhere I go as most places are better than my rural home. For me the struggle is the legendary candy and deciding who, when and what to power up because I know it's so limiting for me. For example my shadow 96% Articuno, id love to 50 max but ive only got 24 candy and 31 XL, it's a very difficult decision because when a legend is in raids 1. how much do I spend money wise on getting them 2. how hard do I try get them, looking on campfire and spending 20mins driving down the road to only "potently" get 1 or maybe can't invite enough people from reddit or discord to actually join, then its been a waste of time. Also like you said legends come back around and what if I power something up, and end up getting a better one next time around. I do now want to power up raid relevant attackers but its difficult to decide because of these reasons

Launch day player here (level 50) who doesn't enjoy gbl. And it's hard to find the motivation to even remember to log in every day. Not sure why the features are so slow in pgo. Monster hunter now has released more content in the last 9 months than pgo has released in the last 4-5 years. Mhn is currently earning my play time and money

So funny, I was just talking about that today at work with my collegue! What would bring back all the fans would be totally different Pokémon that have never appeard in the mainline games. f.ex Meltan and Melmetal Like imagine a whole line/gen just for Pogo and then they would be released in a future Gen

New gameplay instead of visual features should be there focus if they want to keep players more engaged. I have yet to meet one single trainer who uses the ar mode. Good events are spaced way too far apart. The biggest community engagement I have seen this year, were the raid day events. They should have a raid day scheduled every month in addition to community days. Bring some mythical like Mew, Jirachi, Zarude, and people would go crazy. Gyms, raids, gbl need a refresh more than the visual aspects of the game. A easy refresh to gyms would be add gym leaders from the main series and have them spawn like raid bosses. Players get the chance to collect all the badges and then battle the elite 4 afterwards.Plus why not add something new to map instead of pokestops and gyms. Maybe a pokecenter where not only you can heal Pokemon, you can do wonder trades or global trades. Routes could use a little spark to it also, adding base form zygard with the same spawn and catch rate of Galarian birds would be great. I’m sure all long terms would also love a better Pokemon management system. The spoofing apps provide a much a better app for that. Would love to use the spoofing app, without using the spoofing features just to better manage my Pokemon.

Been playing since 2022, Almost level 43 at the moment. It gets somewhat repetitive. Other than the masterwork research for shiny mythicals, id probably stop playing pogo
