Master Impressionist JIM MESKIMEN Jimpressions Show 2012

Thanks for watching! This is a concert from way back in 2012, so apologies if the material seems dated. I hope you enjoy it BUT PLEASE also check out my more recent work. I put up at least one video a day, Celebrity Fortune Cookie, where I read a fortune in a different celeb voice, and other videos about acting, impressions, Professor Knestor, relationships with my family or just art in general.

No worries, man! I am rather immune to criticism, not because it is untrue, but because, speaking from the viewpoint of an entertainer, the technical perfection is irrelevant to my broader audience. I could find more flaws in my work than anyone else, but the overall effect is more satisfying to me that my earlier efforts, and so I choose to press on. So far, the majority are pleased. I hope you will be too.

In other words, as a true artist and entertainer, you are constantly honing your skills, even if you seem to imply that being perfect is less relevant than making it all work just so to give a stellar performance, which you do! You are an impressionist, like I haven't seen in recent memory. But that's because I forgot. I have short memory! No. just kidding, sort of. Anyway. You are what I would call, a "naturalistic" impressionist. Not taking away from Van Gogh, because you can't, simply because Van Gogh, has Gogn. So that doesn't matter anymore now. But,,, you seem to have taken your skills to a level, where you have thought everything out, as far as the voice, personality and looks go, as compared to other impressionists over the years, who have just thrown it all out there and hope for the best. You may seem to imply you throw it out there, but to me, it's like you merely did your homework and do it right.

After years of watching impressionists, I've never seen one who understands so well why 99% of them fail to a certain degree. Most simply overdo it; they go over the top, even if just slightly. That always make the audience feel that they are listening to the impersonated persons as they mock themselves. Not you. Your work is fantastic. It is polished, subtle and spot on. Congratulations!!

I'm using my fiance's account and I actually met Robin Williams. The impression you did was fantastic! he sounded just like that on stage. However, when I met him right after he just married his second wife, he was in Central Park with his wife. I approached him and asked if he was Robin Williams and he answered in a very deep Midwestern accent that he was. I jumped up and down and was so excited, because I told him that I always loved him from the time I first saw him on Happy Days. He then jumped up and down saying using his voice we hear on tv and said omg I am Robin! I told him it was an honor meeting him and that he is fantastic. He thanked me and said it was an honor meeting me. I offered my hand to shake his, but really wanted a hug, but I never would have asked. He however, asked if he could give me a hug. I was so delighted, that I giggled and cried at the same time. His hug was so genuine, it felt like a hug from someone who really cared . I remember saying that he is such a blessing and he helped me with my depression growing up, by watching him on, especially his HBO stuff. He thanked me . I told him that at the time I was an active alcoholic ,and not even my boyfriend knew my secret , but I do understand the pain of addiction . He again thanked me, but instead of acting funny I saw tears in his eyes. He then took my hands and said God bless, you. I told him that I will keep him in my prayers and he thanked me and told me not only did he appreciate them, but could use them. I realized his wife was patiently waiting for him, while my then boyfriend and now exhusband just came back from his jog. He and i hugged again and said goodbye. I remember saying i don't think we will ever meet again, because he is so talented, crowds would be around or he would have body guards. He then said that God willing, we will meet again in heaven. I started to cry, and then he said in his Mork voice " Nanu Nanu" and then he left. I have been sober since 1998 after 24 years of drinking. Even though I have had a lot of stuff that could make me go back, but with the Lord, i don't. In 2014, I became an ordained non denominational minister. When I heard that he committed suicide I felt a big hole in my heart. After reading why he did it, I understand and I'm glad that he isn't in any more pain for all his suffering. I believe that the Earth is a little darker without him, but thanks to the modern technology, his talents will always be available to us. Now he is making people in Heaven laugh. Our loss is Heaven's gain. RIP, my friend Mr. Robin Williams. You are gone from Earth, but never forgotten. Nanu , Nanu. Rev. HeidiAnne

If I were to close my eyes and listen to only your vocal imitations, it would be scary because your impressions are that good. And your facial expressions just kill the audience (in a good way!) Deniro, Walken and Pacino LOL. too many to recall. 😅😅👍👍

My opinion is this: Your impressions are real...which means you sound like them without sounding like you´re imitating them. Many impressionists do over exaggerate their impressions for comedic effect. Which usually(and unfortunately) means people tend to believe what they see and hear easier than what is actually an uncanny impression. A really good special effect in a movie is never seen. What I´m saying sir, is that you are incredibly good at what you do:)

The amazing thing is that I'm sure it's hard enough to sound so much like the people you're impersonating but you also make up really funny jokes to go a long with them. The Jack Nicholson progression was brilliant.

I made a mistake of letting this play as I was working. It's awesome to see one person doing all the impressions- you're all "hey that guy's great!" but it's REALLY TRIPPY when you're not looking and all you hear are all these different voices and you click back to the window and it's just been one guy ALL ALONG. hahah! Amazing work, man. You're a king and a legend!

Thanks! I do the Blue Genie for other Disney projects, but Dan did a great job on the film and the series. For a long time it was frowned on for him to do an impression of Robin's genie, but that got lifted for some of the work I've gotten to do. Dan could have certainly "Robin-ified" his characterization if called for.
