Appreciate the in depth tutorial. Watching from the PHILIPPINES and seriously thinking of dumping GoPro and their issues for this camera.

Just bought this amazing camera after waiting 4 weeks for Gopro to respond to me to say why, as a subscriber, there was no discount for the Gopro Hero 11 black! So glad I bought this, together with a cheap DJI 2 year warranty which allows for 4 replacement cameras should mine fail completely & require replacing, DJI also pay for postage costs both ways 😊

I am now better at using my Osmo4 ....thanks to this great tutorial!

Great walk through and thorough introduction to a camera I am considering. I have a question about what looks like artificing around you during your walk. The separation of you and the background is what I'm referring to.

Just ordered the stand alone Mic2, makes the Action 4 even better and waterproof too, with my Action 3 perfect combo for moto vlogging.

I just bought the ACTION 4 ....specially for underwater production ....shallow water , rivers , waves ...that sort of thing. Also considering purchasing the POCKET 3 for Land production . The shutter speed affecting stabilization was a super good tip! I always use my own manual settings, but I hadn't actually thought of this. Just bought the Action 4 (it's in the mail) for my running nonsense :)

Also I vlog theme parks and funfairs mostly in the UK and I always record in 50fps 50hz as it stops the artificial lights from flickering ! Would I be better off using a different setting ??

This Osmo seams so much more advanced, user friendly and worth the money compared to the gopro.

Hola Simon. i have a confusion: I work files on FCP and I don't know if it's better to record on H264, the problem is that in the configuration of my Osmo action 4, in video configuration/compression/ just gives me the option of HEVC, option H264 appears in grey and I can't select it. thanks for your help

As a novice, having watched this detailed video, it makes me not want to buy this device because it seems that if I dont customise any of the settings then I wont get a decent video... Is this the case???!!!

HEVC is 10-bit colour vs 8-bit

I had GoPro 11 sold it don't know Wich one is work for me I used my GoPro in mountain.

Just bought my action 4 and I can see it’s going to be a long way…..

You're welcome :) I know HEVC takes up less space, if both files are the same bit depth. But in this case you always get 10-bit colour when you enable it, and 8-bit when you switch to H.264

If you need the camera waterproof with a mic you will need to use external recording. A simply way to do this is with a standalone device or if you need to do it cheap look for a wireless USB mic and use your phone. My main phone's USB C port is damaged but I use wireless charging and an old phone without service with a simple recorder app to record audio as I have the DJI OSMO Mobile 6 Gimbal for my main phone. It's simple enough to sync the audio in editing and really cheap. The app was free, the dual USB C wireless mic was 20 with tax, and I already had an old phone gathering dust on the shelf. Just search "dual wireless lavalier microphone usb c" and you should find something that will work.

For some reason when I was trying to access videos, the only way I could see them was if I turned off the cellular data on my iPhone. I found that to be really weird and annoying but I didn’t see that in your video. Any insight on how to fix that?

Use a microSD reader or use the USB-C cable and you can view the videos on a computer or tablet (probably iPhone as well through the folders app if you have a usbc to thunderbolt) I find that way more responsive than looking at them through the app.
