Massive Shockwave During Mine Clearing Operations

Footage from ongoing minefield clearing operations being carried out by Ukrainian engineers south of Bakhmut shows an impressive shockwave erupt from a UR-77 mine clearing line charge detonation.
The Ukrainians appear to be using smoke screens in coordination with their daytime demining operations. The Russians' heavy use of anti tank mines will make retaking ground a tedious and dangerous endeavor.

It’s very humid outside so it takes very little pressure chance to get the water to condense out like that. Quite a beautiful effect in such a sad situation.

For context, its a rocket on a cord that shoots out in a straight line & then blows up all along the cord, destroying any mines that'd be in the path of where the line of cord landed.

When we used this de-mining rockets in the Swedish army back in the 90’s we hade a parachute on the end of the 150m explosive rope, this guaranteed that the explosive rope was stretched when it landed. Seems strange seeing these line charges curling up in a pile and then detonate. Maybe I’m missing some information but one would think that a long clearance path as possible would be beneficial.

Where did you see it curl up? Those lines were strung out. They look to be clearing about 150M at a time. Thats standard if I remember right from my days as an Assistant S3 in an M1 Battalion/S2 of an Infantry Brigade.

Ukraine are using the M58 MICLIC Its a rocket projected mine clearing line charge. The rocket you can see at 0:40 is the projectile fired and it has a lane of 8 meters by 100 meters of charges that detonated mines on the floor.

Man I’ll tell you what Ukrainian armed forces have proven to be one of the most well trained militaries in the world. For their size they are taking it to the Russians hard and even though the advances are slow this is just the beginning of which is all part of the very long awaited and very well thought out counter offensive. Ukrainian armed forces are methodically carrying out their assigned missions. Russians are just dug in with no real plans and Ukrainians are doing a very good job at taking back their territory with surgically precise movements

Yea I'm sure you know what the Russian plans are. As for Ukrainians taking back territory with "surgical precision". What are you smoking? Or drinking? They've freed up 100 km squared of territory and lost half the army they were building up for 6 months in that process. That's less than 1/1000th of the occupied territory. Russia is not even trying at this point and are holding up the defenses with zero issues, and Ukraine is just losing troops and equipment trying to even approach the defense lines. Even Ukraine admitted that the situation is hard and that they're stopping the counteroffensive, because it's not working at all. You're absolutely clueless about what goes on, but keep believing the lies the western media tells you, it's gonna get you far. And you're clueless about Ukraine on top of it. You say "for their size". Ukraine had the biggest army in Europe when this war started, bigger than France and Germany combined, and you talk like they're some tiny weak country. And that was before they started being fed by endless western supplies. If Ukraine attacked Europe last year instead of Russia attacking Ukraine, Ukranians would be drinking tea in Paris by now. Ukraine is outnumbering Russia in the fields from the start of this war, Russia went in with 150k troops vs. 700k that Ukraine had.

The Ukes are doing three things, the least important of which is taking ground - for now. They are also turning russias hardware to scrap, and they are exterminating russias male population wherever they find them. If ruzzian commanders are just going to leave their men and equipment dug in, the Ukes are just going to kill and destroy, with increasing supplies of superior Western tech, taking minimal losses themselves. We're watching a slaughter.
