Definitely, and i dont have the game so im unsure but im certain those frontline troops he was using had bonuses vs charge. Hardcore in Cathays favor. If anything it was a last stand for the slaanesh forces

"Terracotta giants" seem to have some pathing problems. They were mostly just stuttering and spinning instead of attacking.

@@ieatmice751 single entities struggling with picking a target out of a group of units is unfortunately an issue that's been present ever since Warhammer 1. That said, you get used to it when you play the game a lot, and at the end of the day they are so powerful that they can derp around once in a while and still be well worth their cost. Hopefully they'll figure out a fix one day, but if they do we'll probably see the stats of single entities lowered quite a bit to compensate. I wouldn't hold my breath, though.

Slannesh, no armor fast unit wanting to outmanouver the enemy and charge or surround them gets funneled into a one way attack deathtrap. Yeah I think the winner was obvious.

Yea the only way slaanesh would win this engagement was to lure them off the bridge. They need room to build momentum and hit the flanks and rears of the enemy cause slaanesh always does it from behind.

You can tell he's fighting the AI because the flying units didn't try to take out the ranged and artillery units. They also seemed to have pathfinding issues at the front entrance of the bridge. Which due to the delay they took more losses than if they tried to close the gap. Hell even in WH2 the flying units at least try to attack your ranged.

Artificial intelligence level can be adjusted. When you upgrade them, they start dodging spells, sneaking around from behind, and protecting their ranged units.

@@jordanwebb1543 I once played this game where I found a really good chokepoint like two mountains one entrance and two paths leading to my base with a mountain in the middle dividing it into two paths then converging again into one. Essentially I made two fortress in the first entrance and the second one so even if the firat one fall I got a second one to protect my base.

You'll want some ratling guns to suppress, but it's much better to spam warpfire throwers, mortars and plagueclaw catapults in a situation like this.

@@rikrishshrestha5421 I started with warhammer 3 and I really liked it, beat 4 campaigns ( Skraag, Kairos, Boris, then Daemon prince) and I had a lot of fun but it got boring after a while so I bought warhammer 2 and have been playing a ton of that since, then warhammer 1 went on sale and I bought it so far could get mortal empires and eventually immortal empires. Don’t shun people from this series because you don’t like this one game it has a lot of issues but it’s still a good game, warhammer 2 is just better and I’ve never seen or played anything from shogun 2 so I can’t say anything about it. Sorry about the essay no one’s gonna read :p

@@chainsawboy2388 You are not comparing apples to apples with WH3 and WH2. This game released 4-5 months ago. WH2 came out in 2017. WH3 is most definitely better than warhammer 2 within the same timeframe (4-5 months post release).

If you’re going to make a last stand on a bridge, don’t put your army on the bridge. Use the full length of it so the enemy has to travel through the entire narrow funnel to get to you. You should only be on your side of the bridge. You could have twice the firepower tainting down on them from your flanks as well as the middle.

Total War really accomplish the dream of many of us watching LOTR and medieval war movie and wish we can take part in a battle like such.

This is insanity. Literally a battle straight from the lore. This is truly epic.

The fact that’s he can put thousands of units without lagging at a lot prove his videos has great quality,love it

Wut? There was plenty of lag in this vid which was easy to tell from the very beginning and got more noticeable when the fight started.

First I saw it was against Slaanesh, I was like "well maybe if they just come in way bigger numbers they stand a chance" than I saw the army and that the harpies went for the frontline instead for the archers and guns I was like "okay never mind someone just chose to go AI mode".

Yeah, AI took no advantage of breaks in the enemy's front line either to push through the centre and roll up the lines before moving in again.

That’s massive display of powers, looks surreal.

More like thousands of Chaos died and a small number of Cathay troops died proving that the Cathay care more about their troops than the Chaos guys do. + 5 to moral in all future battles because everybody is confident that they can repeat the victory and that their bosses care about them.

Pretty cool. It was obvious early on Cathay had a clear advantage with their ranged units.

This would have been amazing if you didn't have damage spells and you left everything in guard mode so there lines didnt move as much and then the snipers at the back pretty sure did nothing and if you just keep the battle view just as a side view or a birds eye view would look sick too like the part when you was watching from the side with the sentinels walking in, that was my fav part but was still a great video.

It would be great if CA implement a system that make units make ways for units moving throught them or firing .

@@froglet827 It was, friendly units would step aside then get back into position. Also you could charge bigger units through crowds to break their ranks and push units through. They would suffer higher casualties but could usually get through the hole created and thus be both attacking the front and rear of a formation. In Rome: Total War, with Carthiginian Elephants and having a unit charge through, in previous Total War: Warhammers, with Varghuls etc.

I couldn’t imagine a worse scenario for slanesh.🤣

When the officer shouts "stand firm" those elves just stand there thinking "i am bored" at least they look like it

i just wanted to see a tzeentchs firestorm hit that Cathay army in the huge block, would have been glorious to watch XD

Total War is on another level. Even if you spawn in 1000000 units, the framerate is still relatively smooth.

"Mashed " is a good word for it. I always wished Total War Games imrpoved on the fighing animations. I mean look at them, Units run into each other, stand there looking confused and make a random blow every 5 seconds lmao.

@@lto8401 I like how in Rome 2 phalanxes actually work like phalanxes. They poke with their pikes instead of trying to 1v1 duel enemies and as a consequence no one gets close. Shame spears don't work like that anymore.

@@lto8401 Yeah it would be cool. But there is a reason why they don't have the types of fighting animations like they do in Rome 2 or Troy Total War. Having kids of cool fighting animations cause a big drop in fps if you don't have a good rig.

Khorne is double pleased by this display of carnage; lot's of killing and Slaanesh losing.

Quick question: Are blood effects allready in the game? I saw a lot of blood on the ground but it looks like it's part of the slaaneshi spells. Usually blood & gore we only get at a later stage with a patch.

I honestly didn't see blood. I think they will add blood through a DLC. As they did with the previous titles

Having played cathy i can safely say that they are an amazing defensive faction. That settup was noway optimal either as there little use of harmony buffs or iron hale gunners. Slanesh had no chance :P. The battle looked great though :D

Great video, however I noticed so many units on the front line just standing there and doing nothing. Dunno if this has something to do with the game though, never saw that in Warhammer 2

Idk why but I find the sound of the asain hellstorm rocket batteries making impact very satisfying

this looks amazing. incredible and beautiful...but there is still work to be done on the choreography and interactions of the units....there is far too much standing idle and milling around doing nothing. the massive units just stand there for whole minutes without doing anything.....its distracting

that's for balancing reasons,if they could just stomp,smash,and swing their weapons around constantly (like how they realistically should lets be honest) they'd easily wipe entire units in moments

Thats really strange, according to the lore slaanesh should love choke points, after all, it loves tight narrow holes packed full of sweaty men...but the gameplay shows otherwise...

С анимациями беда прям какая-то. Мелкие милишники стоят лицом к лицу со врагом и ничего не делают. Анимация атаки есть только у гигантов и отрядов дальнего боя. Артиллеристы без снарядов что там делают - натирают колеса пушки по циклу?

This can be Pulled off via Having Multiple Lord's, with their Own Armies, aiding the Main Lord at the Garrison... Same can be done for Attacking Enemy Bases... Best Faction I've seen so far to pull off with this so far is the Daemons of Chaos, Favouring Khorne... The Amount of Daemons and Chaos Warriors that were on the Battlefield at once was a Terrifying Sight... And I was attacking a Simpleton Lord with his Band of Misfits... 2000+ Daemons and Chaos Warriors vs 350 Chumps with 1 Lord Chump...

Oh, glorious Wind of Death, how I miss you here!

The sentinels at the top of the screen around the the 5:45 mark look a little confused regarding what it is they're doing there.

Im sure the artillery has more ammo than that lol. Nice Role gameplay tho 👍
