I'm late to the party, but if you upgrade Jenkins in NG+ his stats transfer to Ashley. He most likely was just a re skinned Ash.

Yeah hes ok hes got some personality at least, i dont like him because hes such a meathead and overly emotional i could buy it if he was a sergeant but hes a lieutenant officer so hes behavior doesnt seem realistic especially his lack of fear when talking back to someone as high rank as shepherd

@@vladromanenko18 Ashley was pretty good in the first game. Theeen crushed and burned... are we sure she is not the Cerberus clone instead of her accusing Shepard. Yeah, Kaidan got similar treatment... guess he didn't had much grace to fall from so less noticable. Miranda and Jack had stuff going for them too. But yeah, James is the only serviceable human male squad mate... and that includes Andromeda. Will someone throw Liam out the airlock please?

@@janosd4nuke for me Ashley isn't ok in some (not all!) parts of ME1, for the whole ME2 (as does Kaidan) and (in ME3) till Bailey shows up and thanks Shepard for saving Citadel (and Council). Even before death, in her last breathe, she sends her (ex-)commander into hell.

Man, i love that Kaidan and Ash only mention the bodies on Ilos while Garrus and Tali mention both Ilos and the Collectors. It's such a nice detail.

I remember leveling up Jenkins just right before he died the first time I played ME1. I screamed at the screen because I was so pissed at him for dying when I just wasted good points on him. Poor Kaidan was probably expecting a sympathetic response (war hero spacer Shepard) but I gave the renegade answer of basically “fuck him. Let’s just leave his body”

Hey that interpretive dance Liara is doing is a long held Asari tradition, meant to inspire and motivate before battle. Don't you feel motivated watching her do the traditional "Float Dab"? Even Tali is getting in on that pre-fight dance routine.

James and Grunt would get along great! They both like dinosaurs.

They definitely would, it's too bad we never got a krogan squad member in ME3 lol (other than wrex during citadel DLC obviously). I wonder why they let Tali be playable during act 2, but wrex wasn't during act 1.

@@brentage5000 I just mean while he was aboard, I knew he had to leave after Act 1. They probably just didn't have the dev time to make a playable Wrex for the main game for only a single act...probably why we had fewer companions in ME3 compared to ME2.

David Tran not necessarily I think, when Jarvik was born war against reapers has been raging on for centuries already, all he remembered and experience could very well due to the circumstances of war.

They weren't necessarily evil, but Liara painted them like they were saints; it's only natural seeing what their technology brought the galaxy, and how engrossed she was in prothean history. I mean Javiks attitude may be different if he was born in an early time period, but probably not very much.

@@QuickSilverKitsune from what Javik and Victory said, they would have had a million protheans in stasis, but roughly 300 thousand were destroyed in the initial bombardment by the Reapers. 50000 years and 500k+ deaths from simply being triaged out is a bad way to go.

Who knew, out of all of us that played this for the first time, that it would lead us into a great and crazy adventure? Jenkins dying pretty much gave you that little push, that feeling of paragon vs renegade decision (Justice or Vengeance). It would also lead us to more choices, some easy (we always stab Kai Leng. Always), and some extremely difficult (Genophage). Thank you, Bioware. You may be in a bad rut right now, but y'all did GOOD with this trilogy.

When Javik awakes in the present day on Eden Prime and learns from Shepard that he's the last of his people, it reminds me in Angel S05 about how Illyria, the last of the Old Ones, learned she too had been gone and sleeping, technically, for far, far, too long below the earth in her sarcophagus, before finding out also she was the last Old One still alive on Earth, imagine in her case really, waking up after thousands of years and knowing like her alone you are the last of your kind, your people dead, your world gone, your name and legacy a mere memory and no-one remembers you like they should anymore, awww, the poor girl, poor old girl, you got to feel sorry for Illyria, that pain and anger and hatred and revenge and loneliness, eventually though, without outwardly admitting, must had made show her, thanks to Angel and Wesley she had some kind of heart and softer side underneath, maybe or not, kindness, who knows really, all in all, point is really, Illyria and Javik are almost the same sort of person, last of their kind in a world they awake and near enough understand over time, like the Doctor does as well, right? As he too is the last of his people after 2,00 years, regardless of recent events related to it.

And to think that the first time I played Mass Effect I considered none of the events on Eden Prime that interesting.

Most likely used a mod or something. Back in ME2, characters that wouldn't be available in some areas still had lots of dialog for them if you had a mod that allowed you to have them from the start.

***** He uses Javik on the shuttle because Javik has no lines (understandable, because this is Javik's recruitment mission.) Because he can't talk, this forces the other squadmate to do all the talking - useful for when you're trying to record all the dialogue a given character has. Basically, think of it like a priority queue, and Javik has the lowest value, so he is always chosen last to speak. Thus anyone you bring along with him always goes first.

Indeed, but it's a way of ensuring that all possible dialogue lines and camera angles involving {other squadmate} are captured for editing purposes.

I wondered why Javik said nothing... then I remembered he wasn't supposed to be there.
