Get ready to [re]experience MASS EFFECT in a new way. With features such as no HUD or convo wheel, new custom cutscenes, and mods to enhance the game, this multi-part series is created to bring you Mass Effect 1 (Legendary Edition) as if it were made for TV. The goal with this project is to make the viewer forget they are watching a video game, and provide you with a cinematic experience similar to what you would find on Prime Video, HBO, or Disney+ (despite it not being live-action).
RELEASE DATE: Starting May* 31, 2024 - every Friday (first 6 episodes only, until following episodes are complete). Each episode is over 1 hour long.
ABOUT THE PROJECT: I have a huge passion for the Mass Effect games, and always wished there was a way for others to experience the story without playing the games. This series has taken hundreds of hours of dedication so far (in-game recording and production) but I am hoping to continue into Mass Effect 2 and 3 in the future once this first season is complete. The missions the crew go on are ordered in a way that will help the flow of the game, and introduce viewers to crucial elements that I plan to include in the sequels.
In order to structure this non-linear game like a TV series with different character's perspectives, branching storylines, and to keep things interesting for new and experiences players alike, I made some creative choices throughout the game that are not necessarily canon to the trilogy. This includes custom scenes showing characters interacting with each other, some characters completing story elements that are usually exclusive to Shepard, and more. I wanted this world to feel as alive as possible, not just through Shepard's eyes. These are all features built into the 2nd and 3rd games, but were rarely shown in ME1. I hope you will still find joy with these changes, as I still wish it to be as faithful to the source material as possible, but adding a fun twist here and there ;). This means you may not prefer the mission order, the romance choices, or even Shepard's hair, but I'm hoping these details can be overlooked to enjoy the ride. Mass Effect 1 is my favourite game of all time, and I hope it shows.
FINAL NOTE: This series is meant to be as SPOILER FREE as possible, created with the mindset that no one has heard of Mass Effect before, or played any games, so I will personally be avoiding answering any questions about major decisions in the comments.
