I know why; the 300 MF'ers wish they were in it. I drive a 2013 Audi S5 Coupe and I had Bentleys, Mercedes, and Porsche way more expensive pull-up and I am like Got Dam, but the fact I was in a drop-top and all Black they nodding. Masaerati just says class, driving one; I imagine a Bloke would be wearing a Bespoke Suit, Niche Parfume, say Aventis, Parfumes DeMarley, Nishane, Amouage, Mancera, Tom Ford, and/or Bond No 9, etc. Walking in a club all by himself and leaving out with the Badest Bitch on that side of town. It has happen to me. So I am Bias.

Really happy that a friend of mine recently bought one of those and manages to drive it without uploading the driving, wearing fancy suits while driving and even slurping some coffee before starting the engine... I wouldn't say it's ugly. When it came out it was ground breaking. Now it's just a less than decent car with an incredibly beautiful exhaust note that doesn't match its performance. The Granturismo is bought mainly as used car for 40-50k by douche bags who love to place their Maserati Key on the restaurant table trying to impress people who don't know cars that well. Once the brake pads or clutch need replacement they cry in their pillow at night and sell it to the next douche bag. As you can tell I've really lost respect for the brand. Have been passenger in most modern Maseratis (Granturismo, Granturismo S, Quattroporte, Ghibli, you name it) and all of them are way inferior to other brands offerings in pretty much every respect. Please remind this reflects my personal opinion which is controversial.

Wow. Careful not to cut yourself on all that edge there, buddy. In all seriousness, you're not entirely wrong about modern Maserati consumers, but the same thing has happened with Porsche and Lamborghini. It's a cohort of wealthy narcissists who brag about lap times they'll never be able to achieve in cars they'll never take the time to learn how to drive. That said, at least Maserati isn't unnecessarily pretentious about it. They've accepted what they are--a luxury brand with a sporting edge who focuses more on aesthetics, sound, and the experience of driving than a set lap times or acceleration numbers. Meanwhile, Porsche, an SUV and sedan manufacturer that happens to make a sports car now and then, fancies itself the paragon of enthusiast motoring. A company can't really control its consumers (unless you're Ferrari or Pagani), but you can control the image you portray. I'll take an honest Maserati over a disingenuous Porsche any day.

Sorry, might have been a bit sour indeed. Usually not the type of guy to hate in a youtube comment section. For everyone his own cup of tea. Just two real life anecdotes. I live in an area where there's tons of Porsches and Maseratis. Two friends of mine have a high end car care center. Within the last six years they have cleaned/polished about 400 Porsches an 1 Maserati. Yes, one! To me that's a great indicator for who's really passionate about their cars and who isn't really. What I personally really like about Porsche (for example) is the understatement. They don't go completely over the top with styling and noise but they perform. I'm a regular passenger in a 997 Turbo S Carbriolet and we have recently measured GPS times. It does 2.9 Seconds 0-60 MPH on a mediocre road in very hot temperatures with two people in the car. It has 65000 Miles on the odometer and it is still faster than than its factory specification says, even in not so good conditions. It has been literally doing extremely hard accelerations for the last 10000 miles since my friend has it. Before we don't know. And it had zero problems at all doing that. Then again, the Turbo is just too fast and maybe a bit too unemotional and I agree that (especially where I live where speeding tickets are ridiculous) you'd rather want something enjoyable and emotional to drive rather than a surreally quick car. I have even been a big fan of that Maserati for quite some time. When the Gran Turismo came out 10+ years ago I was absolutely in love with it. It's just the course they're going right now with their new models combined with the people who drive those gran turismos that really turns me off right now.

Great video of perhaps the most beautiful and best sounding car currently in production. However, in reality after a few weeks under the cover the battery would turn out to be flat ;-) At 1:19 say.

Love the look and the sound of the car. Indeed it is quite old but it has not aged at all, timeless classic. But the commercial is not getting the atmosphere across they were aiming for, it kinda sucked.

This car is really a masterpiece ! I've owned one (MC Cabrio) for 3 years but sold it because it was just too big to really enjoy on the winding mountain roads in the northern lake area in Italy, where I live. Finding a parking place was every time a night mare (parkings in Italy have been conceived for cars like the 500 and the Panda). People criticizing it's old and slow, don't get the clue. The Grancabrio is at its best when you drive slowly. Then you hear the howl of the V8. Downshifts are also spectacular. Now I have an Abarth 595C Competizione (with Performance Pack), which is the car to have in this region. After a remapping I've also had an upgrade of both interior and exterior with a mixture of carbon fiber, leather and alcantara. You can see the result on :kzread.info/dash/bejne/qWiJ15uKj73XmZs.html . Since then a lot of things have been modified : 18 inch OZ Ultraleggera, lowered suspension, additional painting, ... Soon I will bring out a new video with the final result !
