Superb music as always, by Maestro Jerry Goldsmith. Peter Strauss and Peter O'Toole were magnificent in this TV series. Sad that talents like those and productions like this show are nonexistent these days.

Cornelius Flavius Silva(PETER O' TOOLE, MASADA 1982): [to Gallus] We must face the truth. We laid out this camp for the prosecution of a siege. We didn't expect them to come visiting at all hours. We expected them to be stubborn, and they've turned out to be clever. I hate cleverness! It's the soldier in me, but we could use a little bit of it ourselves at the moment.

I love that scene when the romans pull up the siege tower, and then this amazing music plays... pure fear in eleazars face.

Unfortunately, history always repeats itself as man never learns from his mistakes, the only thing that does change is the size and speed of the weapons.

The complete score was released a couple of years back as a two-CD set featuring the whole score for all four parts. That product is pretty much entirely sold out by now, though, while the original soundtrack release is likely just as hard to come by. So yeah, there's plenty more music on the CDs, but good luck finding those now for reasonable prices.

Miniseries was OVERALL very good, with an amazing soundtrack, but I hate how they portrayed the Romans as borderline incompetent. Seriously? Overhand stabbing with a spear like 3 feet away from your target? Getting tripped by a kid? Fighting by yourself, out of formation, without a shield, and getting killed by some random Jewish peasant? Why were the Romans wearing leather Lorica Segmentatas? The Roman Legions in Judea wore metal armor. Doesn't mean they wore the Segmentata - it could have been the Hamata, but still.

To Caesar I avow to Israel I point, Saluting Israel instructions on the method. A Hebrew speaking Russian culture that shares praises of their Temple and City built on the ashes of its predecessor with the required flag representing the diaspora two aspirations for four corners of the world with a star of six points pointing in every direction for the chant of two four six eight who do we appreciate Israel, Israel, Israel. Israel a new self-found state with a religious motif philosophy to philosophize a Torah the beacon as its composure of five letters justifies a country with five borders as the fanatics can continue to shout NEVER ENOUGH!!!
