Finalllllly Petty stepped it up. That was the game changer yall. Yeah we hit a bunch of 3s but we also finally got some production outta Petty. He was averaging 8 pts a game since the start of the sec tourney. Got us 20 last night. Huge game huge confidence booster for him. We also had 7 turnovers in the first half only 3 in the second half. If we continue to play like we did last night we can beat anyone. Roll tide. I had to edit this. Getting Primo back was huge as well

Beautiful comment! Hello Cynical how are you doing I hope that you are enjoying the weather conditions?
The thing people aren't talking about is how deep Alabama is. They plugged Gary into the starting lineup for a better defensive matchup and he played great. Quinnerly comes off the bench and had 9 assists in the first half, after winning the SEC Tournament MVP off the bench. Primo and Reese came off the bench and hit a bunch of 3's. Quinnerly, Reese and Primo combined for 37 points, 12 assists and 14 rebounds off the bench. Alabama can play 3 bigs together like they did when they put Iona away, or they can play 5 shooters out like they did on the first half run last night. Credit to their players for buying into the system, playing hard, and not worrying about their minutes from game to game.

I'm proud of the Terps Bama provided an avalanche that most teams couldn't have stopped the floor spacing and unselfishness along with ball movement was a big difference if not for the play of Wiggins it could've been much worse. That young man with him really putting the work this off season could be a superstar after his senior season or he could make the mistake and leave early and be a G League star. Maryland was very impressive on offense but just didn't have the quickness to guard Alabama. I could see early in the game that Alabama was getting just about anything they wanted on offense. They don't just shoot 3's, they shoot deep 3's which spread the defense. When you get spread out that far Alabama drives to the basket on you and there are also open lanes for guys to crash the offensive boards. If they make some 3's early and start passing the ball around like a hot potato and driving to the basket you're in big trouble.
If bama gets to face Gonzaga in the elite 8 or final 4 , I think they can win . Gonzaga numbers in the tournament are scoring in the 70s . Bama is able to get to 100 points when they are ready

As a longtime Terrapin fan I'm happy with this season. They went as far as their talent could take them. Still, I have one big time problem with this particular loss. Mark Turgeon didn't conceive that MAYBE his very tall player could have helped, Chol Marial. He also didn't conceive of the added energy Marcus Dockery or Anquan Smart MIGHT HAVE brought in their closing out along the perimeter. Turgeon get $2.7Mil to trot out the most predictable lineups, which by virtue of fatigue alone from the coaching fail lack of depth would doom the team. ANOTHER THING: How many FGAs did Galin Smith even get to attempt? WHAT IF THIS COACH DECIDED TO DO WHAT THEIR COACH DID and try a different starting lineup? Galin with Chol in a big lineup with Hart and Scott off the bench would have been imaginative. They could NOT have lost worse. As a Terrapin fan I think this coach will not take them beyond. He's good. BETTER THAN MEDIOCRE. But he's also bad enough to lose a game HE COULD HAVE WON.
