I watched this video carefully and analyzed the course. I took my test today at this mva and passed easily. To whoever is reading this make sure you practice preferably do reverse parking when you go out a lot it’ll help. 2nd get to the mva an hour early trust me you’ll be waiting a lot so be prepared. 3rd don’t sweat it if you don’t pass try again it took me a lot to get the license and lastly have a clear mind when driving… forget about everything and you’ll pass

I'm a former Driving Instructor: Excellent video. Very informative. I see where you were confused, she used language that is familiar to the profession, "follow the course" : To you that meant "the testing course." Whereas for her, she meant, "exit the course." You did not know that your skilled portion was completed. Therefore, you are expecting to another skill. She knew your were completed and heading back. It's a language thing, not a rigged test. IMPORTANT: always ask for CLARIFICATION when not sure. The examiner is required to CLEARLY give instruction. In this case, I would have recommended that you ask to speak with a supervisor and challenge her decision of failing you. DO NOT do anything that was not asked by the examiner. Thanks for sharing.

You weren’t wrong at all sweetie, her directions were confusing for me and I’ve been driving for over 26 yrs lol ! She could benefit from cultural competency training (in other words she needs to be trained the language or verbiage of her audience.) And (Maryland) needs to do better and create a real life driving course !!!! 😠 that’s a shame they don’t have any other markings that simulate a real driving scenario. I honestly believe they should make a virtual driving course with sensors that shake and jolt when you hit something lol maybe I’m reaching but hey, it’s 2022 this should’ve been a thing by now 😏 But congratulations to you on passing your test 👏🏾👏🏾please be a safe and responsible driver 🙏🏾

I think they need to somehow partner with drivers education because I actually drove with them for hours and on the highway and stuff so they can be the true judge if I can drive or not. Not this mva parking course lol

The instructor had me confused as well

I took my drivers test in the summer last year, failed it twice, I almost aced it the first time I took but then I didn’t stop at the stop sign, took it my second time, had the same driver instructor and failed it. Came back the next week for the 3rd time, had a new driver instructor and aced it. So I was so happy that after I completed my 14 hours of driving, I knew I was gonna get my license

Last year I failed the test at Largo MVA and next time I will pass it because I went into the wrong lane when I have taken the test

I'm British and dreading this test. LOL! And ive been driving for 20 years. I'm worried about misunderstanding directions also, and them losing their sh*t with me. lol!

Is there a "road test" portion after you complete the pull in, back in, and 3 point turn?. Apparently they take you out on the road to drive for about 10-15 minutes.

Idk 100% what the rules are but I believe yes it’s mandatory to have 60 hours because I remember the lady asked me & You have to get that signed by the person u drove with. And in terms of who your driving with I believe they have to be above 21 or 25 with their license (but I’d check in the book and see what it says)

If you're under 25 and don't already have a license, you have to do 60 hours, otherwise it's 14. The accompanying driver must be at least 21 and must have had their license for 3 years. If you are under 18, you must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian as they need to sign the documents for you.

If you carefully listen to her, at the part you "failed" she said make a right, then a left, then a left... Clearly her instructions were wrong.... At no part did she say to make another right and go where the parking lot is with the mva parking signs. I would of clearly disputed her "failure" claims and requested another instructor that day. She failed to provide proper and correct instructions. You did exactly as she told you.

I’m not 100% sure if you HAVE to take the driving school but for me my driving educator was the one who submitted my name to the mva to be eligible to take my test and my dad signed my book.

Driving school is required, but your supervising driver can fill out the log book.

I think it is both poor instructions and your own nervousness. On her side, I think the instructions toward the end are vague as you noted 'follow the course around' and your nerves lead you to misread them' (and with vague instructions there is a lot of room to misread). As I heard the follow the course *around* led me to think I would need to make the right *around* the curved part and not go left. I do think that this video is invaluable to those who have to take the test and are nervous... and glad to hear the second test went well. I think the other parts of your video that are invaluable for people to know are: (a) if you are off in the 3-point reverse into cones, you can *move forward to the original start and reattempt it,* and (b) the lady's vagueness and your unfortunate situation tells people *you can ask for clarification* if things are unclear or you are lost* (which is not something you might think is possible). Good Video!
