When I try to express my feelings, i always go off on many tangents and get lost 😂😂😂

Everything in this sketch is truly top-notch SNL. Hilarious writing and really well-performed all around. Molly Shannon is fantastic and even Jerry disappears into this character somehow (and it’s incredibly rare to see him play a character other than himself).

I saw that - it looked like the left was actually one of those boots they wear after an injury - I was wondering if Molly had sprained her ankle in a previous sketch. She was one of the few cast members (like Chevy Chase and Chris Farley) who would willingly risk injury when a sketch called for a particularly physical stunt.

West Side Story was originally set on the Lower East Side amongst two immigrant groups: Jews and Catholics (I think Irish but could have been Italians, you can look it up). Conceived in the 1940s, it was relevant to that generation’s experience. And yes, it was called East Side Story. But it was shelved, and when the same group of creatives - Leonard Bernstein among them - revisited it in the 1950s, the groups didn’t seem relevant anymore. So they updated it by changing the ethnicities and relocating the action. At that time, Puerto Rican gangs and their rivalries with white gangs were in the news, in the area later bulldozed to create Lincoln Center. True story. (There’s also a theory that the Romeo and Juliet storyline was code for a gay romance, but as far as I know it’s just a theory.)

i wish they would bring back MKG and other classic characters to show who they are in todays world. they like to bring back SNL alumni all the time anyway so why not? it would be so funny to see molly shannon reprise MKG! she would bring her to life and really paint her modern picture very well. just as much as like, per say.. wayne and garth? or stefon? - even tho he was a WU character, but it would still work - maybe even go classic with coneheads? melissa mccarthy brought matt foley back during their 40th i think is when it was. it would be dope to see more! i mean, they brought back the wild and crazy guys, not their official name, but i thought it was cool to see them again even tho they were never my favorite. i believe ive expresesd my point.. and its a good one. we should start a petition!

Soooo Funny!

Seinfeld channelled a little bit of Kramer slapstick into this role. Excellent work on his part. Must've been some rehearsal. Shannon is a total pro as always. There really is no other venue for her particular set of skills than SNL. Tim Meadows makes an ethnic joke prob wouldn't be allowed in 2023. I wish Kattan had been given more lines in this one.
