Mike , that speech alone deserved a nomination ....it still makes me mad she didn't get it ...and Taraji ...I thought she would WIN ..but No the Oscars don't even NOMINATE her ...an old ugly Meryl Streep in a fuckin stupid movie about some old hag that thought she could sing that bombed at the box office ! Natalie Portman did a shitty job in the movie about Jackie Kennedy (do we need another movie about her ) it failed . Hidden Figures made 205 million dollars on a 25 million budget and had a story that was so unreal /riveting and No wins at the Oscars ...should've swept the fucking show ...but ...we have to see Emma stone win in that over rated garbage La La land (who cares ) that is why I haven't watched the Oscars in over 2 decades ...shame !

So many Amazing performances in this movie. Just one of the most perfect movies I’ve seen and I have watched it and watched it again and again these women were phenomenal as were the women they portrayed.

For real. The "plantation folks": just refuse to accept the fact the the black culture in the USA is unique and has a rich history. We fought a war over slavery and the righteous won that war. I wonder how it would be today if the "plantation folks" just had been run into the ground until nothing of their kind and history remained. I'm pretty sure it would be a bold and fascinating place.

Because they think 'loving America' means pretending she is perfect and always has been. They don't understand that loving your country means accepting the past - all of it, good and bad, and working, not to make it 'great again', but to make sure it keeps getting better for everyone, always.

Man we made so much progress in acceptance on merit and integrity only to watch all that we worked for. That is now being destroyed by the select few so segregation can become the norm again!
