Marx and Lionel Banjo Signals 417 1426 140 Wig-Wag

Ойын-сауық

The flag man at the crossing found himself looking for a job after the introduction of the banjo signal. These sturdy machines simulated the motion of a swinging lantern or flag. They were much more dependable than a sleepy watchman. Thanks for watching!

Nice to see them working👍👍. The white stage really helps with these kinds of vids.

The 1426 has a prototype in Fresno, California! I have the later brown banjo signal that Lionel made.

The Marx insulated contact rail was very clever, much more efficient (in theory) than Lionel's 145C. Or else it would have eliminated insulator pins and the extra lock-on if a person chose to use insulated rail. I would like to see how it works with a train in motion.

I noticed you just hooked up 2 of the connectors on the 1426. Comments?

That does seem a little peculiar. I’ll revisit the accessory and try to find an answer.
