Some aspects of mothers milk's background sound like it was used in Homelander's series version. The whole thing with needing his mother's milk to survive seems to be given to Homelander but not in the need to survive but he has a longing for a motherly kind of relationship with Stillwell, and even seems to desire her breast milk.

In the comics part of homelanders driving motivation is that he basically has an Oedipus complex directed towards Vought. They chose a fantastic way to represent that in the show

Yeah in the comics Homelander isn't a monster. He is tricked into becoming one by his clone Black Noir. Butcher in the comics, however, pretty much is a monster tbh. So the Homelander of the TV show is very akin to the Butcher of the comics.

sparda9060 Yes it’s from compound v. His mom was exposed to heavy doses of it daily at work, which resulted in MM and his younger brother being born with a lot of health issues. MM needed breast milk constantly to survive, and the younger brother was severely mentally challenged. (He later dies after more compound v complications) Their father dedicated most of his life trying to sue Vought for the effect the drug had on his family .

I wanna see if they are gonna kinda follow the comic and give the boys their enhanced abilities and the hero uprising

Not at all, the comic ending makes a lot of sense and it would take away from the impact of the entire story if Butcher doesn’t fully become a monster in the end. It’s supposed to really hurt. Either way Hughie has a lot on his plate to deal with in the tv finale lol! I do personally hope they change it slightly to intrigue the fans of the comics who already know how it ends, which it seems like is a strong possibility!

i like the ending, its very nice, the real villain of the story was always billy butcher, and even further it was stillwell, i fucking hate the shitty adaptation that dumbed everything down, this was never a hero = bad story, homelander was just a bipolar scared kid who was never raised and needed a parental figure, the real villain is the american foreign policy and war machine and the corperate backers, which is made extremely clear, especially since in the comics they travel around the globe more while they only talk about american issues in the boys show

Homelander is easily my favorite, he’s easily one of my favorite antagonist in any story, the contrast between him being a “good guy” vs what he actually is, is what makes him so interesting.

Uh you can't blow somebody's head off just because it's a sanctioned fight. Nobody consensts to the possibility of their opponent suddenly developing powers and accidentally killing them mid fight. They had every right to arrest him, since they would have no idea about the reality of the situation. He's not exonerated from murder charges just because it was done in a boxing match. He's exonerated from murder charges because it was a complete accident that was unforeseeable, completely accidental, and was in no way willed by MM.

Read the comics right after finishing up season 1. Needless to say, did NOT expect that level of gory detail but absolutely loved it! Couldn't keep it down, feeling all that rage. Glad to see the show doing it a bit differently as well. Anyways, favourite character would have to be Billy. Love Hughie and MM but you have to admit, it takes a lot of crazy to face off against Homelander. Karl Urban really pulled of the role as well! Gives me shivers whenever he gets that maniacal smile.

MM's origin arc in the comics was one of my favourites and the one where Hughie goes back home.

I’d have to say that my favorite character has to be Hughie - he just represents that “Everyman” value that is in all of us...everyone can relate to him on a realistic level to some degree. All of the characters are amazing, but I think it’s easiest to see this gritty world through Hughie’s eyes.

So happy the show changed his family. This story is sooo dated.

The more I learn about the plot of the comic the more I'm glad the TV series has stayed far, far away from it. It's turned a shitshow of the comic (epic XD hero spoofs and wacky shock for the sake of shock content) into a fairly competent and well thought-out story.

Mothers Milk is a badass but I’m still gonna stay with Billy Butcher. Butcher is the freakin man! Completely BADASS!

I love both. Probably my favorite character. Finally finished the books and my goodness it broke me bloody heart.

Well in this case Im glad they didnt went faithful with his background. The show is already weird enough and MM turned out to be badass and well written enough despite not having this mothers milk addiction to "spice" things further. pun intended.

I'm kinda happy they changed his character for the show. The origin for his nickname is really uncomfortable and weird, and that image of his mom in the comics where she's a big blob creature with tentacle tits saying "Maaah boooy" over and over again is cursed.

MM is my favorite character. Never fully read the comics but am aware of his abilities. Super cool character in the show and has really good dialogue. You can tell he’s a really good guy, much more stable than Frenchie.

Definitely want to see a Frenchie Video! He’s amazing!

I kind of gained respected butcher when he saved MM's daughter from such horrible fate but them story just gets gray and gray.

I would say Homelander from the prime series, since I have not read the comics yet. Imagine a petty god, the idea is terrifying since he does literally walk among us. Everyone is walking on thin ice around him at all times, terrified to say what could be their end, and you feel that. I can not imagine how much worse it gets in the comics but I am ready to see.

As of S3, MM is easily the best and most three-dimensional character in the show. I could watch a whole show just about this dude trying to get his daughter's respect back

Huey is my favorite character and I'm just excited to see him become more confident and see what he's going to do to the supes next.

I'm most excited to Karl Urban come in and show his acting chops with having to deal with all the bombshells of season one. He's going to show pain anger betrayal.

You guys have to remember this comic is a total parody of the superhero genre. From the names to the powers to how the hero’s act. MM’a origin and powers are a parody of superhero’s who are dependent on different substances that give them powers

I relate to Hughie. Love his story of why he joined the cause. Damn! His girl obliterated in front of him. (That's not why I relate btw) a lifetime of being/ playing victim; choosing to do something about it

I loved MM in both interpretations. Character wise both are the moral anchor for the boys .

I'm excited to see Butchers further character development.

Billy is my favorite due to me liking characters that are smart and tactical
