Tony Sibson, in his interview right after the fight, said he didn't feel too disappointed because he recognised even then that he had been beaten by 'a master in the ring.' He was right, but it was great to see an honest and talented fighter acknowledge an all-time great - as it was great to see MMH pay tribute to Sibson in his interview shown here. I've been bragging about "MARVELOUS MARVIN HAGLER" for decades... and I'm still in shock that he's no longer with us!! RIP MARVIN!! You shall NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!!
Damn, he was so good. He was MARVELOUS.
Haglers boxing iq was ridiculous. A lot of just think of him as a tough brawler. Hagler for me was like moulding Errol Spence and Roman Gonzalez into one human. Absolute beast. His boxing fundamentals, accuracy, chin, durability, fitness, workrate, inside fighting and power was both beautiful and rare. Truly the middle weight GOAT

The best I've seen, to ever fight in a era where fighters, fought champion's and everyone else..
Been watching his fights over the last few weeks then heard the sad news..The most complete fighter you will ever see 👌
Boxing masterclass by Hagler, his versatility is second to none. Great commentary by Leonard too.

Boxing has lost a monumental pugilist and imo in his prime the ‘Baddest man on the Planet’ No matter what Tyson fanboys say. This man epitomised everything the word ‘dedication’ to a sport means. He was and still is the fighter that inspired me to be the best version of me in any sport I tried. He’s the reason I Started Boxing as a callow youth and to this day admire the commitment it takes to succeed. He walked away owing the sport nothing and never unlike many others came back for a payday knowing he’d be cheating the public. A Mans Man and my boxing idol Marvelous Marvin Hagler!!! R.I.P 🙏
For me haglers best fight. Such a complete performance from a complete fighter.

can't comprehend the great man has passed...a true legend...Sibson was a good solid pro and Marvin made him look ordinary ...peace and respect from the UK
This is the best I've seen of Marvelous Marvin Hagler ❗❗
Marvin always had answer . He outboxed big punchers, and punished slick boxers, except for Leonard . The Leonard fight I thought he gave away the first few rounds , and didn’t fight his usual way. Awesome fighter. Chin of stone. Always in shape. RIP. Can’t believe he’s gone
💔Rest in Power Champ and thanks for all the greatness you showed.🥊
Sibson was a game fighter, but Hagler was at his peak around this time. He was beating Sibson to the punch, slipping punches, landing combos and moving extremely well. He was very confidant and his dominance was evident. This fight showed Hagler's great skills. Some big fights were still ahead of him, but at this point, it would've been tough for any Middleweight in history to beat him on that night.
And this is why at this point in his career, he was and maybe still is the greatest pound for pound fighter that ever got in the ring.In his absolute prime, even Sugar Ray Leonard refused to face him. The legend and the man who saved heavyweight boxing, The Iron Mike Tyson basically admitted that pound for pound he would not have wanted to fight Marvelous Marvin Haggler RIP Champ x❤
Cannot believe he’s gone cannot believe this guy was a marine without going to Boot Camp this guy was a gladiator without using a shield and sword this guy had a heart of a lion and the soul I’ll be humanitarian this man shouldn’t be gone small homage One of the greatest boxers of all time at any weight

11:22 "Well you notice now Hagler's fighting Orthodox, he's fighting the correct way..." Um... Every way Hagler fought was the "correct way."
Other fights receive much more publicity but, for my money, this was Marvin at his best. Sibson was game, but Hagler was MARVELOUS. Well done, Champ.
IMO, after watching Pro Boxing for 6 Decades and seeing the Greatest Boxers in those years, my pick for the best middle weight of all time, is Hagler! He has the best mixture of boxing skill with powerful punching power!
Magnificent as well as Marvelous. i will never tire watching his art.

Clever boxing by Marvin in this fight ,Sibson was as strong as a bull and a good fighter but just not good enough . RIP champ.
nice quality, thanks for uploading
Hagler throws 3 different types of right jabs. He has the quick double jab. The more standard jab and the big lam post jab that can knock you out. He's like a baseball pitcher who can mix it up and switch around. You have to love that.

Salute to a Legend RIP
Hagler likes to move to his left when being defensive or exiting pocket. His main attacks come from angles in which he moving to his right. Poetry in motion as far as boxing technique although mostly known for his aggressive fighting style. So many wrinkles to his game. When u finally start to figure him out he switches to orthodox and starts bombing power left hooks from the outside. Or he will switch on the inside to sneak in a power shot seamlessly when his feet close together. Pure genius, super fun to watch. Never appreciated his abilities enough when I was younger but nowadays it’s incredible how talented and smart he was. In his prime was by far the best KinG.
Both of these guys were absolutely tough as nails.

Back when even the national type fighters ( step below world class, great in terms of their country) had great boxing skills. Look at how sibson at times forces Hagler to change his approach and counters his jab . Boxing isn’t what it used to be , but hey I must enjoy .

Tremendous performance from marvelous Marvin Hagler. Great commentary from Sugar Ray, giving Hagler all the credit in the world.
Beautiful man and fighter. Hagler was cheated by the Boxing establishment in delaying the arrival of his greatness , rewarding his rival Leonard with a dubious decision but Hagler was rewarded by the Boxing Gods with superhuman power, resilience and skill in the ring and he had such humbleness and humility outside the ring he was so respected. The Leonard decision may be in doubt but his legacy will never be in doubt. My hero, my inspiration in so many ways .RIP the greatest boxer ever not just GOAT of middleweight. I will miss you.
