Hey, thanks for this tutorial! With Photoshop and this, we can make complex textures very easily. But I have a problem now. If I use the "graphics" button, I do get my pic on my clothes... but they aren't affected by the clothes material and lighting! So if you change your clothes to Velvet material, the pattern doesn't shine like the rest of the clothes. Is there a solution for that? EDIT : ALright, solved already -_-'. So, it's stupid, but the graphics actually have their own materials. That means every change you do to your clothes, you have to do the same change to your pics. Just click on each texture and change its fabric so it matches your clothes.

What did yours look like ? Make sure your texture / image is a clear and a high quality image. No blurry images.

my image was very clear , basically it was a neon green transparent dress and had the word/pattern "Givenchy" running all through the dress .. once i transferred to blender and opened the mesh the words were freaking gigantic lol

@@nanaosaki8944 okay I would suggest scaling it down in marvelous designer. And if that doesn’t work, I would suggest putting your mesh blank in blender and using photoshop or another 2D editor to add the texture to your mesh in marvelous designer

is there a way that you can make your own textures that’ll work in md if you can’t find what you’re looking for on the web?

You can search for textures on google. There are plenty of websites that let you download clothing textures for free. I forgot which website I got this one from.

i tried this but when I exported it to blender, it only imported the color not the texture. :( is there a way to properly export it with the texture added to it?

You would have to add the texture using a 2d edited such as photoshop

I'm a little late to the party. I've got the exact same challenge. It's funny because the graphics _are_ in the texture images created when you export your clothes, BUT these patterns still don't appear when importing the file. I tried in Blender and in Unreal Engine. I saw people online having the same issue on Maya and Daz, so I guess there really isn't any way to export graphics. From what I gather, these software all import the shape and the materials only. So you have to import the textures with those software's own tools. There _is_ a workaround though. Not a very nice one, but it works : just create your patterns in the 2D window of MD. - Draw the "texture" as internal line. - Clone as pattern. - Delete the internal shape (Convert to Hole). - Change the new pattern's fabric. - Sew the pattern. So you basically have one pattern and fabric per color. I told you this wasn't a nice solution, lol. Definitely not a proper method for complex textures. But at least it works for simple, primitive shapes.
