Great review, Do you know if the compa y are going to make any expansion or sell more figures for the game?

Wait Im actually kinda confused because early on it was stated in the making of this game by cmon that your character strikes determine how many zeds your taking out so therefore when you have a two strike character in a zone that has three zeds unless there are fatties or a boss then you'll have to use two actions out three to clear it unless you're character has three strikes which will only require 1 action

Does anyone know the release date for this version?

Is this available yet in retail? Looked at the usual places and don't see it...

Quick note. I believe it’s supposed to be for 1-4 players and the banner in video explanation says 1-6

Question for the Dice Tower Team? At the 1:42 mark in the video the red title bars states "1-6 Players / 60-90 min / Ages 14+ - Can the team confirm this retail version can accomodate 6 players?? :) thank you! (Asking because I think the retail box says 1-4 players)

I'm not part of the Dice Tower team, but since this hasn't been answered yet, I'll chip in: The box contains the components for up to 4 players. The "full" version will have components for 6. However, you should be able to play with 6 if you improvise. It might feel cramped, though.

I love how congruent this game is... All zombicides before felt odd to me, a combination of too complex and too simple elements that never mixed well, like for example you have to always control 6 characters (what a pain) but at same time the game being a bit repetitive and uninspiring in its mechanisms. Or how it is a "light" game but with a ton of components, specially if you have any KS extra stuff. This box is just right with a very cohesive identity. It is a simple game, with a cool theme, but a game that wont take a ton of space and will be easy to bring to the table. This makes it the best zombicide game so far.

Where is the gameplay video of this that she referred to at minute mark 22:23?

When does this version come out I can’t find a date anywhere?!?!?!?

Does anyone know if this version would give you everything you need to play as the heroes in the full version? I only backed at the undead pledge level and was going to wait for retail to pick up the hero side, but if this will accomplish that then that would be sweet.

Nice review, thank you. It would be awesome for gamers like me (I can't be the only one!) if games would, like this one, employ more standees or tokens in place of miniatures, particularly if that would bring the price down. I'm often interested in a game, but turned off by the high price and which I often have to assume is due to the inclusion of gobs of minis. I actually prefer standees (since they come in full color), but maybe I'm in the minority on that. More standees. Fewer minis. Lower prices.

I hear ya and agree to an extent, but I feel like CMoN's entire business model relies on the minis, especially since it's in the name of the company. I think CMoN would rather go out of business than use standees and tokens in place of a minis horde.

I like the mixture of miniatures and standees for games as well. I do enjoy painting a realistic number of mini's but find it overwhelming at times when you get tons of them. Battletch does a good job of giving you a mixture of Mech mini's and standees. I picked this game up and will enjoy painting the superheros.

Whole-heartedly agree and from what I've seen I'd say the majority would prefer standees over expensive miniatures. I don't paint miniatures so I prefer the look of standees anyway. But miniatures are an excellent way to increase prices and they take pressure away from game design since the minis are the selling point. Kickstarter is a haven for board games with poor game design with tons of expensive, cool minis.

I couldn't tell by the video , does any one know if the sculpts of these minis are different than the Kickstarter ? If so I might need to pick up this version

If you own Zombicide 2nd edition is there any reason for this? Maybe treat it like an expansion, add it in with my 2nd.?

I'm huge into Zombiecide. I have most of 1st and 2nd edition. And this is a great gateway game into Zombiecide. Even my daughter that hates games will play this because it's Marvel and plays fairly quick.

I gotta ask, I have the KS basic 2 box set of Marvel Zombies. Can I buy this and use the heroes/ zombie heroes included in my original set? Heroes in my set includes their hero cards and such

Excited for this & the deluxe version coming from CMON next year. Marvel is one of the few themes that can pull me into a zombie game

Those dials for XP seem like they would work much better then the KS edition the big plastic trackers are a pain to use.

He mispoke when he said that is Zombie Black Widow. I believe it is Zombie Scarlet Witch.

I would have pledged for this Kickstarter if I could have just pledged for the heroes version. For some annoying reason, CMON required you to pledge for both versions if you wanted the heroes version.

I am happy I skipped for this very reason. This game is exactly what I am looking for. And… if I can get player cards…I have TONS of minis from Marvel United that I can use I am happy I didn’t spend the $140+$110+$90 shipping.

Because the entire inspiration for the game was the Marvel Zombies comics, in which the main characters are zombified versions of heroes. They may not have predicted how many people wanted the toothless boring version where you play standard Zombicide with a Marvel coat of paint.

same here, I don't want all the minis or gigantic map of the 'normal' versions. The price point, production value and property make it an easy sell for me.

This looks great, but I Kickstarted the full version, and I can just wait for that.

I didn’t love Zombicide 2nd Edition but I enjoyed it enough to give Marvel Zombies a try. Although I was upset about the shipping fee, I am excited to try the game out when it arrives later this year.

Is this releasing soon (early) like how marvel United did?

Genuinely shocking how many folks in this comments section don’t understand that this is targeted at a markedly different consumer than the KS/full CMON version.

I feel like it makes sense in a box like this to keep them unified in how they behave, but I am hoping the cmon ks boxes have a bit more variety and whackiness in how the characters play out

Supposedly, the hero abilities in this version are not the same as the ones in the "final" version.

Sounds good. Co-ops are better if they're difficult.

Damm The Circle bar is very much more awesome than the full version box, How is CMON doing this to us who backing them first? making a retail version look better than the real one is should not allow.

Definitely the version for those averse to minis or who want to play the game at a more retail friendly price as well as those who just want to pick one up while they wait for there KS edition.

I might pick this up while I wait for my KS fulfillment.

This is a great birthday , Christmas / gift for your nephew or your kids friends birthday ect along with marvel United . They really hit it out of the park . If I was 10 years old and got this game back in the day I would have been blown

No interest in the CMON version because of price, this seems interesting though. I wonder if they will do expansions for this version or at least playing as zombies too.

All the expansions produced for the normal version should work with this one. I’d be pretty surprised if they produce separate expansions for this box. Easier for them to steer people who want more to the existing options.

There not exactly compatible with each other, this is the Spinmaster version of the game made for big box stores. Now if you get the CMON version you’ve got a point.

I hate standees, so I'm happy with the kickstarter version.

I don't want more minis. What I DO want is more character to play. This should have at least 12 characters in the base game with several expansions of 4 characters.

Oh yeah, I forgot Spin Master were releasing this Cash-in game using the assets from the Kickstarter. Didn't realize it was going to be JUST Zombicide but cheaper/cardboard minis and a smaller map.

Zombicide is one of the greatest games ever, and I love Marvel. But combining the two things looks so stupid and is easily the least appealing version of Zombicide ever. Its the only Zombicide I didn't back. ........ I feel so alone in the World. 😅

I agree. Wish they would have put as much effort into Night of the Living Dead or at least something that is classic zombies, like make a Dawn of the Dead if Night was the beginner game. The Marvel theme is just bad and taking advantage of what is popular right now. Marvel fans deserve a good co-op game but this theme is basically just extracted from a "what if" episode that was probably only created to sell a board game. Too bad all the gameplay improvements are relegated to this edition.

True, The zombicide mechanics doesn't fit in Marvel Zombies Universe. I don't like the idea about with one dmg kill a heoe or a Zombie, there is no battle at all, I might see Marvel zombies in Massive Darkness Mechanics better

I think the overview was way too verbose for what needed to be explained for the viewer to understand how this game works.
